I'm gonna see how many of those unknowns I can get on hoopla!

Sharky, you use hoopla? It's something  online connected to your library card, and basically, you rent trades from there. So many trades in IMage and over independents!!

... and basically, you rent trades from there.

Just to clarify... and not pointing fingers because I am even worse at words  Grin but I think Jimbo meant "Borrow", not "rent" in this case. It is 100% free. Again, just to clarify

As for my top ten October reads... well... for one, I will have to think on that, but two... as I don't pay for comics any longer (save for Titan Comic's Conan #2 on Amazon for $1.70 or so Angry...  Grin), it will take a month for me to read any DC October issues on DCUltra and three months to read any Marvel on MU.
Oh and who knows with Hoopla. They get what they get when they get it. Even though they are pretty good at making me happy each month, there are obviously things I have yet to read.

So yeah, only digital services for me. I just can't justify paying $4 to $9 for a freaking comic. This old ass refuses!

And I didn't think about it being just our top ten comics we have read in October, I was thinking solely on October releases.

I'll come back with mine at some point...

I'm not sure on the actual issue numbers but here are a few of my favorite titles from October.

Justice Society of America
Nightwing
Hawkgirl
Batman/Superman: World's Finest
Gargoyles: Dark Ages

On the flip side, there were a few titles/series that I should've passed on.

Cyborg
Masters of the Universe: Forge of Destiny
Blue Beetle... all these new Beetles remind me of the Power Rangers.

I don't actually have ten that I would feel comfortable listing, honestly. But I didn't read a lot of non-Big Two this month either, sooo... yeah.

In no order... other than publisher...  Grin

Conan #4
Ultimate Invasion #1
Immortal X-Men #13
Penguin #2
Superman: Lost #6
Shazam #4

Yeah, and it is old school amazing!!!

Of course while the story is good (Conan good at least, which is good for me  Smiley), the art by Robert de la Torre, mimicking Big Daddy Buscema to near perfection, certainly won me over more than anything. I mean. right from the get go I was in on this based on the art alone, while the story, again, pretty damn well done, came second. At least early on. In the end however both aspects were forged into a great little title that could stand tall AGAINST THE EVER PRESENT DANGER OF THE DARK WIZARD THOTH AMON AND... ahem... sorry and spoilers... no Thoth in this first arc

Back on track now... I am hoping the "goodness" continues in the next arc, with art by Doug Braithwaite. I've seen the previews and while he is scratchier than what de la Torre is presenting with J.B's style, it fits the tone for sure. And tone for me is so important when it comes to comics. But hey, de la Torre will be back on the next arc. Which means they are planning a next arc. Which means I will be happy in the future
