X-Men - Yeah, this was the issue I read in the LCS a few months back. Three to be precise I guess  Cheesy It was total crap for me, but I hope others dig it, at least the first part, prior to
the bullshit Cyclops dialog at the end
  Roll Eyes

BPRD - So Tyler Crook gone after the first mini, ha, oh well, the other stories do have some very cool and very unique art. Hoping for some more kick ass monster designs. Another cool thing now, now that most
of the prime BPRD agents that we are most familiar with are... incapacitated  Wink, we are getting to see more "new" or "new to us" characters.
That's cool.

Batman #130... this Failsafe arc is getting old. Glad it's finally wrapping up.
Gargoyles #1... flashbacks to my younger days of mindless cartoons.
Radiant Pink #1... just curious to see if it is any good.

I really like Zdarsky's writing, but I can see why you'd feel this way. I was feeling it, at least somewhat, after the third issue

Batman vs. Robin - Meh, wasn't as pulled into this as I was the first issue. I will still read the last one when it hits, but if there were more than one remaining I think I would be gone.

Golden Age - Really enjoy Geoff John's stuff, this is no different and looking forward to the new JSA book even more now (didn't think that was possible  Grin)

BPRD - WOW!! what can I say? Yet another great set of issues. Did NOT see that reveal coming in that last 5 issue run. Ha, AWESOME!!! So good and I am really liking the art, even without my man Davis.
Sadly I am taking a break from this team, heading back into Hellboy for a few stories, but will return soon to get more of this ongoing battle, this War for Earth!!! I am supposed to read the Amazing Screw-On Head trade set after this Hellboy in Hell stuff, but I am going to wait until I am done with the next BPRD omni before moving to Screw-On  Grin. I don't think it will hurt my reading order too much at all.

Dark Crisis The World Without a Justice League - Superman #1 - remember that recent conversation about expectations?  It happened to me here.  Was really expecting something spectacular and I left feeling a little disappointed.  It was still a good story and I liked it.  It just didn’t meet my high expectations.  But I get where these tie-ins are going and it did draw me in.

Dark Crisis: Young Justice #2 - definitely getting weirder. But I still had fun.

Flash #784 - there’s nothing like a multiple speedster romp through the multiverse! I liked this.

Dark Crisis The World Without a Justice League - Superman #1 - remember that recent conversation about expectations? Was really expecting something spectacular...

Well where in the world did you get those expectations from buddy  Grin I am pretty sure the only thing I said was it was good, that it was the only one of the series I liked, I don't remember Jimbo hyping it as anything special either, but maybe I'm wrong n that?

But here is what I wrote...

DCUltra
Dark Crisis: Worlds Without a Justice League - Superman

Dark Crisis: Worlds Without a Justice League Superman - First off loved seeing Chris Burnham's return to DC, even though I think he needed a different inker  Smiley, still nice to see his stuff again. I think the Image/Kirkman comic was the last I have seen from him so... oh... sorry... anyway. The stories were okay, we get two here. One Supes and one Aquaman. The latter was... okay, but I did enjoy the former, Supes one a lot more. Still not sure these stories are needed, more
of a Marvel Heroes Reborn feel almost, life on different planes of existence and will be wiped away when we get back to normal  Cheesy
but I will stick with them as I did enjoy this.

Dark Crisis: Young Justice - Not for me. The art was... weird... yeah... weird (it looked nice, at times, but also fairly odd at others?), but the writing didn't click for me. Felt like I wasted my time. I just didn't get into it and with all that I have to get to, I wasn't putting myself through reading something I am not enjoying. I do hope it hits (did hit) for Rodney however.

Dark Crisis 2 - Woah boy, okay,
great save by Supes there!!!
I hope this series is worth it. Still not sold on the concept yet, the man in power and such, but hey, I am here and looking forward to more

Nah man, no overhype from me  Smiley Maybe that podcast you listen to on occasion loved it? Or maybe, much like what happens to me, a lot, the old man brain hit ya?
 Grin
But now I can't wait to see how the others hit for you. You may end up loving them as I think there are pretty much garbage. Yeah, so for that very reason...
You're welcome  Wink Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Hellboy - Man did Mignola get much tighter in his writing or what? He is writing and drawing this collection of stories, all telling of Hellboy's time in... well... in Hell, and I am thoroughly enjoying this. He is bringing up all kinds of past stuff, tying it all together, making me really think back and enjoy those mid to late Hellboy stories (the first year or two is still pretty weak). No idea how this is going to wrap, but I am here for it!!

Dark Crisis #3 - Still enjoying this.  I like the different teams in this series.

Dark Crisis The World Without a Justice League - Green Lantern #1 - Not bad.  I’m liking the fantasy world stories.  I’ve even reconsidered the Superman story in the bigger context and I’m liking it more now.  The backup stories are not as good though.

Dark Crisis: Young Justice #3 - I like the plot but they are dragging it out too long.  Story needs a little more meat to it or it needs to be a shorter series. But I’m nevertheless still having fun reading it.

Flash #785 - Nice wrap up to the search for Barry Allen.  Now the Flash family will join into the Dark Crisis head on!

Hellboy - Great first 7 issues, then it wains before ending without resolve or... a story really. BAH. (but yeah, worth the read for the first half)
Oh, I must add that the last story, The Magician and the Snake, I am not including when I talk about the series falling to nothing. This was a cute little story that his daughter, at 7 years old, told him about when he asked about a picture of a wizard and a snake she drew at school. He wrote dialog and drew what she has told as her story. Cute.
