What is Hoopla? I've never heard of it.

Hoopla is the digital reader for a lot of the country's Public Library's.  If you go to your library's website they should have info for Hoopla there.  Or you can go straight to Hoopla's website and look for library's close to you that use them:

https://www.hoopladigital.com

You can borrow comic books and trade's for free and read them on your tablet or computer. Some series (like Saga, Basilisk, and Once & Future) they have the comic issue the same day it drops in comic shops.  Other series you have to wait until they are collected and they'll have the trade on the day it comes out.

I'm really enjoying using it and it's saving me a lot of money each month.

Promethee 13:13 #1
Promethee 13:13 #2 - added both issues

***************************************

War of Frogs/Black Flame - I can certainly see why Dark Horse rearranged these issues for this collection. It flows much better than it would the original way. Art has been kinda... odd (as the titles have different artists on them) so going from one to the other to the other was kinda jarring, at first, but it read nicely together in this manner

X-Men - Was almost out... and then the last page. Crap, got to at least try the next issue (I keep saying that with this title)

Cap - Not bad. I wasn't going to read this, but... yeah, maybe I will? I keep going back and forth.

Joker - No surprise to the surprise and I am not a fan of the artist, but still a good issue

Bat/Cat - This was fine. Knowing the ending (as I read it a few months ago) makes this... well... yeah, it was fine

Strange Love - Got what I wanted out of this, two decent stories plus a couple more. Nothing to write home about and certainly not worth whatever DC charged for this, but I went in wanting to read the Devin Grayson and Ram V stories and I ended up reading and enjoying, at least somewhat, two additional ones

Promethee - Not sure if this is connected to the "Europe Comics" run with the same name but I did enjoy this. (And now I have to see if that other series is tied to this one)

The Joker 12 - Glad Gordon is back in the front seat. All the pieces start falling in place this issue and looks like we are close to a finale.  Big reveal on the villain too, though not too surprising.

Batman/Catwoman 10 - Another excellent issue.  Really enjoyed the simultaneous battles in three different time periods.  Looking forward to seeing how this ends.

The Monument (from Batman: Gotham Knights #33) - Cooke wrote it but another did the art. Fine short story but I didn’t care for the art.

Date Night (from Solo #1) - I guess this was fine. Another short one with no real substance.

Got the D.D. bug up my ass last night for some reason, out of the feakin' blue, so I read... a couple from the most recent run from Zdarsky and Checchetto (THE number one D.D artist of the last decade for me)

Batman: Ego and Other Tails by Darwyn Cooke
Deja Vu (from Solo #5) This was a good short story.  And it cameos some of the guys from Selina’s Big Score!

Crime Convention (from Batman/The Spirit #1) - Good one.  First meeting of Batman and the Spirit along with just about the entire rogues gallery!

Killin’ Time (from Harley Quinn Holiday Special #1) - Typical end of book goofball story. Fine end to this book.

Basilisk #10 - This story has taken a strange turn.  It’s getting away from its simplicity and trying to be larger in scope.  Not sure if I like it like this but I’ll trust Cullen Bunn as I usually like his stories.

Once and Future #28 - Just when I was staring to get bored, BAM! They hit us with that cliffhanger!  Yeah - got to see how this ends!

No Ghosts in Hiroshima #1 - While interesting, I’m not sure the story is enough to pull me in fore more.  The art is not my cup of tea.  I’ll likely pick up the next issue to see if it improves.  Perry might like this one for the horror aspect.

Basilisk #10 - This story has taken a strange turn.

Trying to wait to get either the next trade, or use my "other" library to get a load of issues to read this in a large group. After issue #9 I felt like I enjoyed the early stuff more, but not sure if it is because of the way I read back to back issues so it hit better for me than it is  Cheesy or if the story is... starting to lose me. You have me a little scared  Cheesy but hoping the next issue turns out to be better. Like you, I also like Bunn's stuff and it usually hits for me as well.

Once and Future #28 - Just when I was staring to get bored, BAM!

This one I am waiting for. I mean waiting for the next trade of the complete story. Once I found it was indeed ending, I decided to stop. But just for now. Glad it is hitting for you, and I also know Jimmy is digging it as well. Yay!!

No Ghosts in Hiroshima #1

Hmmm, thanks for the look out. I don't remember seeing this on Wednesday. I will check it "fo sho"
 Smiley
EDIT - I didn't see it in the new releases but did a search and found the first issue. I did see it is from "Scout Comics" (which is... a small company) so before I pulled it I checked the preview pages online. I also don't think the art is for me so I am going to pass on this. But still, thanks for the shout!! Ya never know how art is going to hit a person and I am a fan of the genre.
 Cool

I only got in a few more in last night. But a very good night of reading. Well, except for the Moon Knight Anthology  Undecided

War of Frogs/Black Flame - I have 3 more days before this Omni returns itself, but I'm down to the last issue now. I think I can, I think I can, I think...
 Cheesy

Daredevil - Still no idea why I was pulled into reading this run, again, now, but so damn glad I was

Moon Knight - I was really excited to read the Jonathan Hickman story, main reason I pulled this issue. Well I read it, but I can honestly say I have no idea what the hell I read. Not because Hickman went all Hickman on me, but because I couldn't see a god-damned thing with the art. You know what's worse than a Chris Bachalo book? A Chris Bachalo book in black and white!! Could. Not. Make. Out. A. Thing.
The second story was okay, but... (dear lord I can't believe I am saying this), the best story of the three here was written by Marc Guggenheim.
