Looks like Marvel is going to help me knock out more this week. Not a single new book for me? Nice. I also didn't want to add too much from Hoopla, but have to get back to Paper Girls. I read the first two issues at release and enjoyed it, but like most Image books I fell away. Plus they have the show starting in a few weeks so I need to know a little more about them, right?

Uncanny X-Men (1987) #225 - The Fall of the Mutants Part 1 - it starts with a battle with Freedom Force (formerly the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants) in Dallas. Colossus returns to the team! But the end of the XxMen is upon us!

Uncanny X-Men (1987) #226 - The Fall of the Mutants Part 2 - Great second act as Storm has a breakthrough and Wolverine shows he can lead the X-Men.  Colossus and Dazzler show strength an Havok tells off the world.  Love this comic. And I love all of the Dallas references.  Claremont had clearly been here as his direction detail was pretty accurate. Even if Forges building is actually a parking lot around the corner from my office.   Cheesy

Uncanny X-Men (1987) #227 - The Fall of the Mutants Part 3 - Great ending setting the stage for the X-Mens new adventures down under.  That was a lot more fun than I remembered.  And the over the top melodrama didn’t bother me one bit.

Action Comics - Not my favorite issue but I'm still not turned on by the Mongul stuff, I have never liked him or his world so stories based on him and his world already starts with a down note. I am also not a Superman guy, and I'm not sold on the team (no idea why), so the title does have an uphill climb from the get go and honestly, that is probably not a fair thing. There is nothing "wrong" with the story, writing nor the art and I did enjoy the first three I had read, but this issue didn't hit for me. But hey, I am still onboard in the hopes it turns back around. Giving it another shot, for at least another issue.

Human Target - A great issue for fans (or in my case an anti-fan(?) Cheesy) of a certain character. That said, and with a different character note, I will say that I know the writing and art are well done as I find myself falling for Ice. A character I have never felt much for... until now  Grin

Robin and Batman - Jimmy and Jeff called it, this is great! A perfect interpretation of the dynamic that had to have happened between the two title characters. I also "feel" Alfred's worry, love, frustration and ire especially with the reveal of what Robin's "true" goal was for issue #2

Thanks! I talked him into playing adult dodgeball and, during one of our tournament games, he tore a muscle in his shoulder. He is resting (medicated), binging alot of TV, and starts therapy next week. I work from home for Nationwide and have been able to juggle my house (two kids, a cat and three dogs) and help at his place (two more shepherds).

L.E.G.I.O.N '90 - finally jumped back into this and just in time to see the set-up for next issue  Grin Lobo time!

LoSH (1989) -  Shocked NOOOOOOOOOooo
Not Blok!!!! Damn Roxxa!!! And then to send pieces of poor Blok to Garth (well his son really) what a low SOB!!
I never knew that happened!! And I also never knew how much I depended on the Legion's "hero" names to identify them  Cheesy. They don't use them much at all in this first arc, so far, so having to go back and remind myself who's who all the time. It can be pretty fun. But now... damn...  Cry

BRZRKR - Really enjoyed this. Keanu Reeves came up with this idea, I guess, and the only bad thing is they barely touch on it here in the first 4 issues of this 12 issue series. It's graphicly violent, which I do enjoy, but I am looking forward to seeing who is... well... looking forward to finding out more.

SAGA - What a bunch of...
I don't know if you guys read the letters pages (I always try to for most book) but now I wish I didn't. Saga, having just returned from a three year "intermission" is going on another break!! And not the usual 4 to 6 months break either. A long break (although BKV stated he promised that they will never have another break as long as the one they just returned from) but it sounds like it is going to be well over 7 or 8 months!! I know they had new kids and wanted time with family, etc... and I have a feeling, just a feeling there may have been (or currently still be) medical issues and so hey, I can understand a long ass break to take care of what you have to, but after such a long ass time you then say you are going to be gone another long time? Really? Why didn't you guys just wait another 2 or 3 months and get more "in the can" before leaving us again? I don't know, I get life can be a bitch but... man, I'm just sad is all. I could handle the 6 months break, maybe, but to tell us you're gone again and it will be longer than the usual break? Dang it.
I hope all is well with Fiona  Undecided
I can go on with even more spoiler talk, but let me just say... no, I better spoiler tag it anyway...
perhaps the reason I am mad about the break is I was mad already, before hearing about it, from what happened in the last issue? And I mean mad in a good way, kinda. Ya know?

Alias Vol 1 TPB - Ah yes.  It’s all coming back to me.  Just as much fun to read as it was the first time.  But now that my memory has returned I don’t need to keep re-reading these.

Saga #60 - really good issue. I can’t believe we have to wait until next January for the next issue. But at least it’s not that four-year gap we had last time! Ha ha. Very emotional issue.

Action Comics #1038 - the fallout from last issues battle.  I liked it.  Is one from our team really dead?

Justice League #70 - JL Dark backup story only. - Getting close to the end of this Merlin story.  I liked seeing Arion again. Reminds me of picking it up in the ‘80’s. Nostalgia.

The Flash #777 - Fairly good issue mainly setting things up for the confrontation with Eclipso.  I liked.

Human Target #3 - Ha! Nice twist there at the end.  Hopefully we get some better movement in the mystery soon.  Still a fun read.
