I don’t know about everyone else but I’ve been swamped this time of year.  Really hard to find time to read!

My ex-partner and I have alternating weeks with our kids. When they are here, that's my focus. When they aren't (like this week), I will get alot more reading time. I did manage to get caught up on the Aquaman and Black Manta minis. I am intrigued by the new Devil Ray.

Yeah, it happens. I have no idea how you keep, or kept, up with the amount you go through in the first place  Smiley

*********************************

Hickman's Avengers and New Avengers - Have really enjoyed the New Avengers storyline, which will crossover more with the Avengers story soon and thank goodness it won't be too much longer. Issue #10 (maybe it was #9) finally started getting away from the New Universe stuff a little more (which has been pretty mediocre) so looking forward to both titles now!

Beta Ray Bill #5 - Good ending to the series. Fun art. Worth the time!

Black Cat #8 - Yeah, maybe not for everyone, but I am really enjoying this "Comicy" comic book

Cable #12 - Good wrap up and a sweet last page of the future... well... past?  Cheesy

The Thing #1 - Ugh, I know it is set in the past, back when the male persona was set a certain way, but what bugged me more was the way Ben is drawn here. That line right doen the middle of his face (and body) bugs the ever loving shit outta me! BOOOOO. Will NOT be reading this when it hits MU. Sad as I am about that.

Batman: The Detective #1 - Great start to the series/mini. Love all the white masked Batpeople  Smiley

Nightwing #79 - Well yeah, this rocked, again  Grin

Cimmerian (Conan): Beyond the Black River - Probably my least favorite of Ablaze's run. Close to the book, but in the book Conan is written more down to Earth, while here, with almost the same dialog but a little different wording, Conan comes off as power/money hungry  Undecided You can check this because Ablaze does a really cool thing in given us copies of all the original Conan stories (that were printed in the old Weird Tales mags of the 1930's) in the back of each issue. Great bonus!

Unbelievable Unteens - I can't express how Unbelievable boring and nondescript this mini was. This book, along with Black Hammer: Visions, really has me questioning this universe's ability to expand. This sucked ass. Still enjoy Black Hammer proper, but ...

Firepower #7 - Jeff enjoys this a good deal so I went back to where I stopped and decided to try again. Hit better for me this time. I will give issue #8 a go  Smiley

Made a little progress.  Hoping to get through at least the ComiXology list before Wednesday.

Seven Secrets #12 - Answers and more questions. Good issue.  New answers to the villains origin and more questions about our heroes!

Snow Angel Season Two #5 - Another good issue as sins of the past are revealed and a new mystery is found.  Another good Lemire comic continues.

Stillwater #10 - Excellent start to this new arc.  Things in Stillwater have changed now. But is it better or will it get worse?  Love the new direction.

Tales from Harrow County: Fairy Folk #3 - Moving along some more.  This is ok but not as good as the original.  The ending here brings a little promise that this might get better.  Fingers crossed.

Alien #s 1-3 - Enjoyable read. I jumped in when I heard the first six is a done in one (six) story and not an overly long, stretched out, first arc. It is off to a really enjoyable start. BUt I do love the franchise.

X-Men #2 - Still just an "okay" comic. Good, but do I need to sepnd time with it? I don't know. Will decide later I guess  Cheesy And yes, that "let me dialog my history" was extremely poor, badly paced (and placed) in the comic

Amazing Spider-Man #151 - Before Len Wein officially handed off (complete) Editor-In-Chief duties to Marv Wolvman (Wolfman was EIC of Marvel's B&W mag line at the time), Len began plotting out and writing his runs on Spider-Man and many other titles he would take over as writer. This was the first of his 29 or so monthly issues of Amazing and... well... it isn't bad. Some good Spidey and J. Jonah Jameson stuff here. The cover, sadly, is the most memorable aspect of this particular issue as the Shocker aspect of this issue leaves much to be desired, but I do remember this and the nostalgia is just fine. (Plus he gets better as he goes)
