Stayed away from this until the show was over as I know I may make some peeps made but...
I am not sure about the unconscionable aspect. She is a Nazi spewing Nazi stuff, not what your values are, maybe your President's, but if that hits too close ... well ... I mean ... maybe ... ya know?
I try to never take "one" as "the whole" and I think that is what you are getting mad at, maybe? I don't see where this show is blasting Republicans nor the values they hold here in this show, at all. Yes, they are certainly pointing an armed finger at the current administration and the absurdity that surrounds it, or him more precisely ... which in comparison to past Republican White Houses only highlight just how far this one insane semi-dictator and his administration has gone, but what was said from a character we know to be a "bad guy" shouldn't hit that close to home for you, buddy. It shouldn't make you mad. Honestly, you have to admit being conservative has little to do with what is being shown in The Boys or even what the current leader of your party, the "Mad Toupee" says. They are not remotely the same. But honestly, like I just said, it is also apparent that very few of those conservative values and/or political matters are coming from the orange dude in charge, so I don't see the connection to you.
Showcasing the similarities of a character and a guy that is totally off his rocker is not saying the entire party fell of the chair. Although some are getting really close ... *cough* Florida Governor *cough*
And yes, I understand the desire for separation of entertainment and politics, but we have never been in this situation before. Never. And while I hope we never do again, I understand it is hard to keep such a vast (and ever growing) divide of sentiment out of your personal thinking and thus really hard to keep it out of anything we do. Just pop into any social media site and you will be flooded with people's opinion or, worse, people's opinion being shared as fact/truth.
Hopefully, either after this upcoming election or the one after that, or the one after that, or the one after that we can return to a little more civility, honesty, compassion in everything we do, regardless of who or what party is in the big house. But that will have to start exactly where this hatred has started from ... the top. We need to get back to disagreeing with respect, not name calling. We have to get back to wanting everyone in America to succeed, not just if they are red or blue. We need to get back to compassion, empathy and understanding even when we don't agree. And that last one, that is a biggie, because regardless of what anyone feels about this guy in charge, you can not with a straight face ever accuse him of having compassion or empathy. And if you can, please provide a link as I have never seen him have either. Ever.
I really hope you saw it Jeff, but I more hope we are cool.
You are one of my (admittedly limited amount) Republican friends, Jeff
and I like having different opinions around me
Just ask my Trump loving, Fox News recording, Baptist Deacon Step-Dad. We "discuss" all the time
Just remember, Trump is not Republican. He's just saying he is. He doesn't care about your values. None of them. He goes with whatever gives him the most notice. Period.
But all that aside, haha, I hope you kept watching the show Jeff. Because if you stopped, you missed out on what is quite possibly the best last episode of any show I have ever seen. Amazing!!!
