Empyre (2020)
Tony Stark wakes from strange dreams – as old allies make a distress call to the Avengers. In the new Green Area of the Moon, the Cotati are waiting with news of a terrible enemy that could wipe out both them and humanity itself. The Celestial Messiah has returned... but are the Avengers ready to hear his message?
Written by Al Ewing & Dan Slott
Art by Valerio Schiti

Is anyone going to pick this up?  I'll likely wait for it to hit MU if I do but I noticed they did a tie-in with one of the Hickman X-Men books.  I don't want tie-in's messing with what Hickman is doing.   Angry

As for the event itself - I'm so wanting to get it because Al Ewing is writing it.  I so don't want to waste my time with it because Dan Slott is writing it.

What to do what to do.......

I am super excited for this. Not as excited as I am for HIckman's event next year  Grin, but Al Ewing has me by the cajones right now after reading his Ultimates and Immortal stuff ... so much so that I am looking into possible getting his Judge Dredd and more 2000AD stuff he did like Damnation Station and The Zauser of Zilk and the 6 issue run of Jennifer Blood he wrote which he was handpicked by Warren Ellis to do.

But, on the other hand, like you I am fearful of Dan Slott. However, I think/feel/hope that this is Ewing's baby and Slott is only there to do the writing over Ewing's plots. I don't hate Slott as a writer. I don't. I think he is actually quite good ... at times. Yes sometimes he bugs the hell out of me with his dialog and I will never understood the love for his SHe-Hulk run, but he is capable.

But hey, it has The Four in it. Of course I am going to be excited ... hopeful

That's what actually has me nervous since Slott is writing the Fan4 pieces of this.  One of my favorite runs is Slott's Superior Spider-Man so I know he's capable, but his Fan4 turned me off to him in a big way.

Yeah, but Im just hoping it is Ewing's plots in that title as well, so at least Slott can't go too far.  Grin

But then again, uh-oh ... maybe it is Slotts plots!?!?!?!

Nooooooooo  Undecided

"Slott's plots" ... more than just a disastrous rhyme

The good news, for me at least, is that I can wait and pick it up on MU.  Which I will definitely do.  By then, I'll have heard if its good or not.   Grin

Unless I read the title already of course.

Hell, maybe not even then with how long it takes me to read titles nowadays
