A few more added, busy summer!!

Recently Finished:

The Staircase - Pretty decent mini series telling the true story of a man accused of killing his wife. Enjoyable... well... not the subject matter, but...  I liked the fact that I found myself going back and forth on whether I thought he was guilty or not. Still am, a little, and that is cool as hell. For an outsider I mean 

The Offer - The story of how the Godfather movie was made. An incredible story. Great acting and lots of info that I had no idea about. Like exactly how much the Mafia was involved in the production, how many times it was going to get shut down, how Al Pacino... well, I'm not going to say anything else as I don't want to spoil anything. I will say this, if you are anyway a fan of the Godfather (and movies in general) you must... yes, you have to watch this!!! But do yourself a favor, if it has been awhile since you have seen The Godfather, watch it first. Lots of Easter eggs and discussions that tie into the movie. We stopped around episode 3 so the wife could re-watch the movie. She was really happy we did. This is one of the best things I have seen on Paramount+.

- Julia s1 ep2 - Had no idea HBO had this show until Jeff mentioned it. We jumped on it! Thanks Jeff
- Endeavour s7 ep1 - A fun (but slow) British crime drama set in the 60's. Inspector Morse, when he was young. We just discovered that this was on Prime. We had watched the first 6 seasons when we were subscribed to BritBox a few years ago and had no idea season seven was out!! Perfect timing as we also found that PBS is ready to air season 8 right now, so while we are watching season 7 on prime, we will be DVR'ing season 8 to watch afterwards.

Recently Finished:

Stranger things Season 4 (Part 2) - The last two episodes (ep8 and ep9)  of this part two were not as good as the first seven episodes. In-fact, I got pretty tired watching these back to back as ep8 was about and hour and a half long and ep9 was close to two and a half hours!! A four sitting for two episodes. I will say, without spoilers, that the final thirty to forty minutes of the final episodes were worth the numb-ass

1.  Obi-Wan Kenobi - Season 1 - I really enjoyed this! I even like the way the fixed the plot hole from the first Star Wars.  I hope they do another season.  I’d definitely watch.
2.   The Flash - Season 8 Part 2 - If this wasn’t such a tradition of watching with my kid I would have bailed by now.  They have to keep bringing back Reverse Flash as the new actors just can’t carry the show. Especially not with the terrible writing.  Even my kid is starting to cringe and roll her eyes.

Finished:
1.  Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Season 1 - Great season!  I loved all of the little things hinting back to TOS. I like most all the characters and enjoyed the return to single episode stories.  This is my Star Trek.

2.  Stranger Things - Season 4 - Good season.  All the episodes were over an hour with the last one being over 2 hours.  But lots of fun.  Loved getting the origin of the true villain. Looking forward to another season.

So many shows, so little time

Recently Finished:

- Poirot - I really shouldn't count this as this is a show I watch pretty much on repeat  Starting season one again here soon 

- Star Trek Strange New Worlds s1 - Really enjoyed this one! I think it is much better than Picard s2 and "feel"    that it is way better than anything shown from Discovery's last two seasons *shiver*. In-fact, I would go so far as to say it is easily the best live action Trek Paramount has put to the small screen since Enterprise. Maybe even better than my beloved Lower Decks 

- The Boys s3 - Oh boy... this may divide things  This season wasn't as tight as season two, but as the show is ending after season 5, I think it was an important season to set up the next one, season 4, to punch our way to that last season 

- Julia s1 - Jeff reminded me about this show and I'm glad he did. A good "slow" show (and I do love my slow ones) with a lot of rich history that I had no clue about. I remember seeing Julia Child as a kid (and always thought her last name had an "s" on the end) but enjoyed seeing her past and how things came to be. Also always good to see how things used to be.

- Terminal List - Just started this and so far we are enjoying it. I was prepped for some action clichés, and they came close a couple of times, but was pleasantly surprised in those couple places where it didn't happen. If you like Bourne Identity stuff, you should like this. My Step-Dad has read the book series this is based on (the 5th book just hit) and he is also enjoying this show. Nice to be able to discuss it with him!

Finished:

1.  The Boys - Season 3 - I liked the villain this season.  Turned out to be pretty decent though the gore was ramped up quite a bit.  It’s taken quite a detour from the comics but it’s ok.  Still an ok show.

2.  The Umbrella Academy - Season 3 - Hard to get into this season but if you can stick with it by the end of episode 3 it starts to get really good and finishes with bang.  I thought I was going to be dropping this show but now I’m looking forward to season 4.

1.  Better Call Saul - Season 6 Part 2 - Wow.  What a powerful ending to this series and the whole Breaking Bad universe for that matter.  Definitely my favorite series of the year.  This show is both a prequel and sequel to Breaking Bad as we find out what finally happens to all of the remaining characters from the series.  Emmy award performance from Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexlar.  What I originally thought was a throw away character turned out to be the soul of the series.
