Return of Wolverine 1, 2, & 3 - I'm glad he's back but I'll be happier when this story is done and he's off to new great adventures.

Shatterstar 1 & 2 - Meh.  Doubt I'll finish this.  The only cool thing in it is the talking Pug.

Astonishing X-Men 16 & 17 - Kind of a bummer ending for this title.  I won't miss Greg Land's art.  I hate his Dazzler.  I hope they put this team back together for Hickman's X-Men.  I like the dynamics.

Transmetropolitan #31 - Drug hallucination segment changes artists mid comic to Frank Quitley.  Hilarious.

Transmetropolitan #32 - And he's back.  Back from his drug induced exile and fires the first salvo at the new Prez.  The next adventure is about to begin.

Starting slow, but trying to keep it like a vitamin, one a day, Perry. One a day. (I'm a little ahead of that at least)
 Grin

Black Hammer: '45 #4 - Last issue and honestly, not that great. I know Jeff hated the art, and I can understand why, but more than that, the story was kinda boring. It started out pretty well. I think even after issue #2 I was digging the story, and even with last episodes battle which was okay (though not overly exciting thanks to said art) this series still ends up being unnecessary. Sure, all comics can go under that name at some point compared to somethings, but unless we have a payoff down the line coming, there is/was no reason to buy this mini. I hate to say it, but it was almost like a Lemire cash grab. I hope he settles back in and doesn't continue to take his Black Hammer for granted
 Undecided

So out of those three issues ... man, who'da thought that a Dynamite comic would be up for comic of the week? So far it is well ahead of the competition.
 Grin
Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt #5 Once again Gillen wows me. This book amazes me. This is like no other Dynamite comic and that is an understatement  Cheesy This is like ... like ... man, well, I will use the name that has recently reared his head here, it is like an Alan Moore title. It is very surreal to say the least. This is Watchmen's Ozymandias going up against Watchmen's Ozymandias! That is the best way to describe it. Different realities are indanger as a super-smart hero, Peter Cannon, using his scrolls to learn all there is, all kinds of mental powers, trying to stop his alternate realty counterpart; Peter Cannon, who has plans on killing or deleting other realities to save just one? Really cool, really trippy. Not one to read when you are tired, but a very good run if you are in the mood for a mental read.
 Cheesy

Amazing Spider-Man #22 - Ummm ... the time for Kraven is over. I enjoyed this arc, honestly, a lot, even though it was a tad strung out, I enjoyed it. Until this last issue. It left me cold. It left me wishing that Karven and his son should just stay away. Do you remember Kraven's wife and daughter? From a storyline line about ... what 10 or so years ago. That was fun. I think that was the last Kraven story I enjoyed. Ha, get it? The Last Kraven Story?!?!?!
Ahem
Anyway, yeah, I think you could really enjoy this arc, it is old school fun. Doesn't make a lot of sense in reality, but comics seldom did back when they were really fun  Grin, but just skip the ending if you do read this. This issue, while it wraps everything up, is better left unread. Just fill in your own ending and you will be fine

Even though Lemire’s name is on it I think Ray Fawkes wrote the lion share of it.

Oh, I know, and that is what I was talking about. Now I may have went too far, with the cash grab comment  Grin but that is what it felt like. I know you want to get some history in your universe, but yeah, make it worth it, ya know.

Now true, Black Hammer itself went through a lull a little bit ago, so maybe that is all this was, just a universal yawn to regroup some oxygen to the title.
Still, nothing great happened here but it isn't as bad as what crime "novelist" James Paterson does  Roll Eyes he just pays other writers and puts his name on the book to sell it

Oh yeah, I agree with what you said.  Just adding that he's starting to farm out the writing.  This and crossing over with DC.  Concerns me that he's spreading too thin and that the universe will start to lose quality.  I think it works best when it's contained tightly and he writes anything in the universe.  I should clarify, I'm not greatly concerned.  Just raising one eyebrow like Spock.

Typhoid Fever: X-Men 1 - Yeah this was awful.  Feel free to skip it.  I know I'm not getting anymore of it.

Uncanny X-Men 1, 2, & 3 - Yeah this was...good!  A lot..and I mean..A LOT is going on here.  It's hard to get too invested since I know these are all getting cancelled to make way for Hickman but I like it so far.  My only complaint - why on earth did they go back to that 90's costume for Jean.  Ugh.  It's gotta go.
