So I was at one of the LCS's yesterday and a guy told me about a post .... from BC(? ... maybe?) (or a podcast ... I can't really remember now) involving a Reddit post about the Flash and all the lightning around the characters. I never knew about this lightning color thing, though I am sure others have, but I thought it was a cool aspect, so I looked it up and here it is, from poster "Steven_is_Awesome" ... copy and paste from Reddit -
HERE(And I did make the link in the article linkable so you can check that out if you wish as well)

(Sorry I can't give credit to the person/article/podcast that Brian heard it from originally)

I recently tweeted to Brett Booth, the former Flash artist and current Titans artist, asking for some clarification on what the different colors of the speeders' lightning means. This is what he had to say.
"the closer you go to light speed the colors shift. So red is the slowest. Blue and indigo are fastest."
This is called blueshift, which you can read more about
here.
He said that future Barry, in the "Out of Time" storyline had blue lightning because: "the blue means he’s tapped further into the Speedforce and is faster than present Barry. Mostly from the suit."
The blueshift effect makes sense because at the beginning of the New 52, Barry had red lightning and now he has yellow. During this time he got faster, causing his lightning to change color.
I also asked if Professor Zoom generates black lightning, or if that is ripples from his suit and he replied saying: "in my mind.. Neither!" I then asked what it means in his mind, with him replying, "can’t say. You never know what the future holds!"
So we may get an explanation in the future of what black lighting means.
Last but not least he explained that white lightning is generated when a speedster is speeding up time, like Barry did in his fight with Eobard. I asked if this means Wally (who's new design has white lightning) has the power to speed up time. He replied saying, "maybe. White in light is all colors combined!"
So his white lightning could maybe be caused because he can move faster than light, causing all the colors to combine.
So this is the explanation for lightning colors, at least in the post-flashpoint continuity.
-------------
So essentially - Speedsters with certain colors of lightning can only go at certain speeds -
Red lightning is the slowest (see Wally .... shit ... see the newest Wally ... shit ... see the newest new Wally

)
then it goes Orange lightning, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo/Purple, Violet
Ya know, the color spectrum. Just never thought about looking at the lightning for speed clues

The reason why I posted this, is I just finished Titans #5 today and I couldn't help but think of this as I was looking at the images and reading what was being said. I am not giving anything away, especially in a Flash thread and not the Titans thread

(there really isn't much to say really), but knowing what I know now and seeing this past issue ... it just made it better. Ya know? Of course it also made the issue prior, or the one before that, even more infuriating, for reasons you should understand if you read the issues or my thoughts on them at least.

But anyway, I thought this was cool and I never knew!!!!
...and for my rating for the current issue of Titans ... go there.
