What are your top 3 or 4 books at the top of your reading list this week?

*This does not take the place of "This Weeks Comics", which is also an important part of the discussion, so Jeff, please do continue that!!  Cool Cool

We all have them, our favorite or most anticipated new books that we want to try. And when they hit, we can't wait to get our grubby little hands on them. They are the first 2 to 4 books that our bright eyes gaze upon, pushing all others to the "I will read them when I have more time" slot. Yes, for these books we make time, damn it. These ... above all others!!!

My top 4 books this week will have to be the four Rebirth titles from DC.  I absolutely LOVED last weeks Rebirth issue and it got me really excited for these.  I could really say that the two I'm most excited about are Batman: Rebirth and Green Arrow: Rebirth.  In fact, I have some free time today at work and may read through Batman 51 & 52 so that I can start that Batman: Rebirth title sooner!  Wouldn't surprise me if I also get through Green Arrow: Rebirth as well.

Yep, almost right there with ya, but no plans on reading Superman. Though I may end up doing so, it isn't a TotS contender for me.

My Top of the Stack for this week is
Batman - Rebirth #1
Green Arrow - Rebirth #1
Green Lanterns - Rebirth #1

Pretty easy call for most people I would guess, yeah?  Cheesy

I agree that Superman really isn't a TotS for me either.  I just figured the least I could do was check out the Rebirth titles of each to get the lay of the land.  Then I'll only get the titles that interest me.

That said:

Batman: Rebirth was pretty good.  Just a setup issue and not near as "Wow" as last weeks DC Universe Rebirth.  I did see the ad for the upcoming All Star Batman coming in August.  Man, I'm torn on that.  Love Snyder.  JRJR on art?  Not so much.  Angry

Totally get ya!! I will at least try as much as I can as well.

Well the good news is he won't be on for long. This is suppose to be Snyders book, telling Batman stories with a revolving list of artists. So I am thinking maybe only 4 to 6 issues will you have to deal with J.R.jr.

And man, I remember in the 80's I would have questioned your mental state having said that about jr, but I just understand it so much now. I mean, I just don't like his box art style. I wish he would get back to his more "I am like my father before me" style that use to look so damn good to my eyes. Remember his Spider-Man/Juggernaut couple issues of Amazing? (Amazing Spider-Man #229-#230 ... and many more) Sooo damn good!!!

EDIT -
One of my favorite panels ... EVER ... came from that two issue run. Just great form by JRjr

Oh yeah. I used to love JRjr.  I even ran into him in the lobby of Marvel Comics in New York.  I was in NY for training but when I found out my hotel was a few blocks from the House of Ideas I just had to sneak over.

Finished Green Arrow Rebirth.  Yuck. This I did not like.  I'm still going to get the first issue just to make sure this wasn't a fluke but if it's not then I'm saving my money here.
