How is the new DCU?

Just saw new/modern/revised/retelling of Brianiac is taking place in one of the Superman titles.
That must be exciting for the current generation.

Out of curiosity, did Dick Grayson become Nightwing during his time with whomever the Titans were or did he evolve solo this go round?

Wondering how things are and if I should check on any of my old characters.

I would recommend the Nightwing series as well as Batgirl.  I was not impressed with Birds of Prey and Roy's characterization in Red Hood & the Outlaws is HORRIBLE!!!

Not sure about the Nightwing question, as I dropped it at about issue 4 and didn't see a reference to it there.

As far as how are things going in DC52, well, for me, I started with about 23 books and on my next pre-order I will be down to about 6. This is more on me than DC though ... I believe, as I am also 'culling' a lot of my Marvel books as well. Image is just forcing me to buy more and more of their books instead. Over there I don't have to worry about Spider-Man doing more shit totally out of character like torturing somebody, Dr. Strange being a whore or Finch trying to write.

Avatar mash-up is from Ross Pearsall... and of course those that own the original characters Smiley

The Nightwing stories are fun.  I've dropped it only because I've also been making more room for some of the Image titles as well as Dynamite.  I read the prelude to the Night of Owls storyline and might rethink my dropping of it though.

Last month had a nice tie-in to that months Batman issue.  There is a point for a couple of pages where Batman and Nightwing meet in the batcave and have a conversation which ends with Batman punching Nightwing.  In the separate books you got to see what led up to that from the title characters point of view.  Then both comics had the same two pages.

That was a little bit of fun for someone like me who happened to pick up both.
