Garth Ennis on a new book from Dynamite? Okay, I might be interested. The new book is the pulp hero The Shadow? Oh hells yeah.

Yeppers, you guys should know how I love my classic pulp stuff (Doc Savage, The Spider and Justice Inc. just to name a few) and now Dynamite is giving me the Shadow written by Garth Ennis? I am on this faster than you can quote "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?"

I will not, however, be buying the 456 different covers I am sure Dynamite will try and sell.  Cheesy

What are Dynamite Books cover prices like nowadays?  $3.99+?

Think the last time I bought something from them was The Boys.....

Like I needed any other reason to pick up this book ... a quote from Ennis on CBR regarding this new series -

"I'm not really thinking too much about the notion of a modern audience, I'm writing a pulp character in the pulp era."

I can't stand right now.

Issue #1

Okay, not bad for a number one. Staying true to the character I know (1930s pulp anti-hero) while still throwing gems out for the Alec Baldwin's "Shadow" viewers (No true references, really, but if you saw the movie you will not be totally lost on certain aspects of conversations). Still only an entry point, so I am not really impressed nor disappointed in anything here, but I do so love this era of characters, so that gives it one bonus point.
