Issues 1 and 2Finally catching up on my reading, again, and just put down issue #2 of DnA's HEROES for HIRE and I have to say this is like jumping back in time and reading one of my favorite series ever; Marvel Two-in-One. Hell they even mention the "team-up" aspect in the first issue, and yes, I realize that is more in line with the series Marvel Team-Up, but I always preferred 2-in-1.
Over all the story is ... okay. They (D and A) are kinda jamming a little too many characters in at one time and for too short a time, but it is not a bad thing in concept as much as me wanting to spend more time with each character. I loved the under-used characters in comics.
I must say, the biggest 'selling point' for me with this series so far is not the story, which is fun and it's not the art, which is good, but the ending of each issue. The endings are not jaw dropping "HOLY SHIT" type of endings, but they put just enough "wow" to make you want to come back. They do not leave you hanging from the cliff as much as they leave you witnessing someone else hanging on the cliff.
Much like my beloved 2-in-1 from my past, I not only look forward to seeing which characters I will see showcased month after month inside the pages, I look forward to seeing that guy hang precariously on that cliff by just his finger tips at the end.
