I知 going to write my thoughts as I finish each issue and then post them in clusters.  My expectations are low so let痴 see how this goes

Dark Nights: Death Metal #1 - Ok. First issue isn稚 bad.  Interesting lay of the land and clear one of my favorite characters will be crucial.  So far I知 giving it a thumbs up.

Dark Nights: Death Metal #2 - Still interesting so far as our small team of heroes start working their plan to fix the multiverse.  I like the cast and even the Joker Who Laughs is making his plan intriguing.

Dark Nights: Death Metal Legends of the Dark Knights #1 - Not a necessary read for the story.  It痴 the origins of the Dark Knights villains.  Somewhat interesting only if you have spare time to kill.

Dark Nights: Death Metal #3 - Clearly I should have brushed up on the Justice League book to see how we got here but I知 still ok with this.  I fear it痴 starting to turn into one of those jumping only books for all of the Tie-ins.  Fingers crossed it holds the core story.

Dark Nights: Death Metal Guidebook #1 - the first story gives some history that helps with how we got here.  The other five stories are filler.  I知 thinking the tie-ins are what gave this a bad reputation but I知 only a quarter of the way through the tale.

Uh-Oh, adding Snyder's Justice League? Who boy. Best of luck.

The story wasn't bad with Dark Knights and loved the art, but I just felt the story wasn't as good as it should have been, but his Justice League? That is total crap, to me.
 :-\

Hated so much about that run
(Maybe what I hate about Metal) ;D

Actually these issues are written by Joshua Williamson.  Might make all the difference.

Ahhhhhh. Yeah, that certainly wouldn't hurt

Still need to read

Blue and Gold #1

Black Hammer: Reborn #2
Tales from Harrow County: Fair Folk #1

Way of X#1 (Reread)
Eternals #4

Completed

Moon Knight #1 - Not a bad read, aside from a very repetitive thing that MK kept saying over and over again, but it was a nice newish take on the character. Still curious as what they are going to do with or about the three personalities, but I can get into this. I like it, not sure I will love it, but I'm hopeful. And while I also like that MacKay does work in all the recent MK stuff
like Konshu kicking the total shit out of the Avengers
... I think I can wait the three months to read this series on MU. I think  :D
Oh, forgot, sadly the art by Cappuccio was a little, eh, nondescript(?) (although the splash pages look amazing, like a different artist all together) but it wasn't glaringly bad. Works for the series, mostly due to the coloring choices I think, but I still wish it were a tad different. Its a little too angular for me. But hey, I thought the same about Sienkiewicz ... when I first saw him  ;D (not that I am saying Cappuccio is Sienkienwicz ... by any means)

Nightwing #82 - Man, okay, let me just say that while I enjoyed this issue, it is much like the rest of this arc ... not an action'fest. There is a lot of discussion going on but hey, it is good discussion  :D And, well, other than that little bit of 'comment', there isn't much more I can say about this issue without giving a lot away, soooo ...
:-\

I read the JL issues to Death Metal. It wasn't that bad but reminded me alot of the Atomic Knights.

Blue & Gold #1 was fun. I was so afraid it was going to be bad slapstick humor. I like my BG a little bit more serious.

Blue and Gold #1 - So I decided to go ahead and just read this (at a certain site), so I could get a good taste to see if I indeed wanted to add this mini now or wait for it to hit the good ole' DCI. And while I 100% agree with Rodney that it is a fun read (and I bet it gets even better as it goes), I think I am just going to wait for it to hit DCI. Again, I liked it, a good bit (story was good, art was good) but as there are questions I have, particularity about Blue Beetle (I'm not up to date on most of my DC character stuff), combined with how much I read in a month  :D, that I think I feel better about waiting and getting the whole picture.
Still, lots of fun and funny here.
Loved what they call Patreon!!

Stray Bullets Vol 1: Innocence of Nihilism

---------------------------------------------

Justice League #53 - So it痴 a side adventure with Nightwing, Hawkgirl, and Detective Chimp.  Obviously if they are successful it will impact the main book.  It痴 off to an interesting start and since I like all of these characters it might be fun seeing them together.  And yes Rodney, your right.  Very reminiscent of the Atomic Knights.

Dark Nights: Death Metal Trinity Crisis #1 - This one continues the main story and isn稚 bad.  The plan to harness the Crisis Energy starts here.  You really have to suspend a lot of disbelief. Not all of it makes logical sense but if you can ignore that, the journey isn稚 bad.

Dark Nights: Death Metal Speed Metal #1 - Finally treating Wally with the respect he deserves!  Yeah I liked this issue. :-)

Dark Nights: Death Metal Multiverse痴 End #1 - Ok. So this has purpose for the overall story.  But it痴 pretty dumb.  Ironically the least cartoony character is Captain Carrot.

Dark Nights: Death Metal #4 - And now it痴 starting to get convoluted.  The first Act has wrapped up now and we池e moving into the next Act.  I知 still not hating this but you really have to ignore all semblance of logic to accept what is going on.

Dark Nights: Death Metal Robin King #1 - This one was good.  The Robin King is the perfect character for Riley Rossomo痴 art!  I enjoyed the continuation of the Robin Kings origin.  It was fun and bloody and the blood bath continued as we came back to present time.  We actually lose some heroes in this one!  Thumbs up for Tomasi痴 Robin King.

Dark Nights: Death Metal Rise of the New God #1 - Awesome issue!  Tynion IV nails it with this cosmic tale.  New character The Chronicler says a lot of things that really voices what readers have thought about DC for many years as of late.  典hese stories seem to be worth remembering. But they have not been cared for.  Am I reading too much there or is it a direct hit on Dan Didio?  Even without the 電ouble entendre the story succeeds in its cosmic scale where the main story is lacking. Thumbs up for this issue.

Justice League #54-57 - Meh.  Not sure why this was a must have except to see how Luthor gets involved.  Otherwise it was just an ok story.  Might have been better but every time anyone talked to Detective Chimp they had to call him 田himp.  And I do mean every time.  Not a single person called him by his name, Bobo.  It was so annoying.  I might have liked the story more if not for that.  Seeing Nightwing, Cyborg, and Starfire together again was nice though.

Dark Nights: Death Metal Infinite Hour Exxxtreme #1 - Lobo.  That痴 really all I need to say.

So I finished what I could from the list, kind of, and now only have Monday's MU releases left so ... yea to ne completing a list finally

*yes I know I didn't actually complete anything as I removed one issue from it without reading it. But lets be honest, it wasn't much of a list anyway with only seven titles to read. In a week :D

Still need to read

Way of X#1 (Reread)
Eternals #4

Completed

Tales from Harrow County: Fair Folk #1 - I changed my mind about this title. Not only am I not sure I finished (or maybe even started) the last mini from this series (I need to check that) but I'm also not sure I have to have this right now anyway  :-\

Black Hammer: Reborn #2 - Still digging this (a lot more than BH: Visions) and really enjoyed the rooftop conflict here. I have to admit that it was a little hard for me to tell what exactly the two youngin's were experiencing on the other side of that fence though, as the art kind of jumbled it up a tad. Though thank goodness for T.R.I.D.E.N.T  ;D Even with that little art hiccup, it is still nice getting back to Black Hammer proper :)

Doctor Strange #7 (1975)
Doctor Strange #8 (1975) - A decent read but I find Strange's voice to be so much different here compared to what I read in the Defenders that its kind of jolting. He is much more ... poetic/academic sounding here, which fits, for sure, but as the Defenders Doc is more ... not that  :D I may need to step back from one of the two for a few, until the voice evens out  :D Of course having said that, I do have to read issue #9 now, as these first two issue merely set up the battle between Dormammu and Strange. The battle for which I read these two to see.

My LCS was having a back issue sale. So I dug into their long boxes.

DC Special: The Return of Donna Troy #1
Deathstroke #4 (1991)
Hawk & Dove #4, 5 (2011)... I didn't realize it only lasted for eight issues.
Terror Titans #3, 5

---------------------------------------------

Dark Nights: Death Metal #5 - I知 ready for this to end.  They致e started to just drag it out with more convoluted dialogue that doesn稚 make sense.

Dark Nights: Death Metal The Multiverse Who Laughs #1 - Total filler issue.  Just a bunch of random 展hat if? type stories that have nothing to do with the main event.  And not very good stories at that.  Skippable.

Dark Nights: Death Metal The Last Stories of the DC Universe #1 - Another filler issue.  Mainly everyone sitting around and self reflecting like a CW episode the night before the battle.  Let痴 talk.

Dark Nights: Death Metal #6 - it痴 about time.  They really drug out this second act unnecessarily.  This issue finally pivots us to the final battle.  Hopefully it will get back to the decent story telling of the first issues.

LOL. I completely agree. I don't see why this entire series couldn't be done in 2 months. As much as I love my Titans, that entire issue was nothing but unnecessary angst.

Dark Nights: Death Metal The Secret Origin #1 - Ah thank goodness.  A good story again.  And perhaps redemption?

Dark Nights: Death Metal The Last 52: War of the Multiverses #1 - Another filler but at least it was filled with stories about the fights.  The only one I really enjoyed was the Titans one.

Dark Nights: Death Metal #7 - Hmmmm. We値l, ok.  It痴 over I guess.  And I really don稚 understand how this gets us to Future State.  But perhaps Infinite Frontier will.  I think they致e restored the time line and if that means the JSA is back than I知 all for it.  Now if just means my Legion will be coming back then I値l be happy.

In the end this had some good stories, some bad stories.  Overall though I知 left unsatisfied.

After I gave up on reading this mini, I searched to see what the ending was, or ended up doing, or tried to do and I think that, while I do like what the out come seems to be
A return to the multiverse
and I would have liked to have had that journey to get there, I just hated everything to do with that Perpetua crap. Especially what Luthor allowed her to do to him

Rodney, Jeff, my thoughts mirrored all your own as well.

In fact, Jeff's line of 'It's over I guess' is my EXACT reaction. I read it. I get the meta message that all the past Crisis' stories count, and we're gonna make them count. Okay, fine...sure, I guess?

Also, is this Metal sub-universe of evil anti-actions gone now? PLEASE?!?! Where apparently only Batman's anti-good is the most influential to it? I'm still confused about the Metal Dark universe. Please go away and never, ever come back.

Like Jeff, I found all the Dark Metal tie-ins to be mostly absurdly filler, ESPECIALLY the last 3 months of things. A good idea or part here and there when it was a favorite character, but that's it!

Now I gotta get caught back up to current (okay DCI current ;) ) reading.

Then I gotta read King in Black. Ugh. I'm a glutton for punishment!!

So, I did read:

Dark Metal #7 -the further this gets put in the past, the better. In fact, it helped me to NOT go back and reread the original Metal.

Immortal Hulk 45-great ending!!! Go JOE!!

Amazing Spider-man 63- what a different feel and direction from the last 6 months. Okay, I guess. Kinda. sorta?

X-men 19 - Again this Vault stuff. So...terribly horrible to make these people live hundred of years, if not more, to expect them to die, all in the name of a war of survival...yeah, its for the mutants greater good, but its HARSH

Wolverine 8-10 - the weird quibble I have about Wolverine's swiss cheese memory is that it was mostly fixed by ...Way writing...before this reboot of the Island work of Hickman's. I guess his memories are junk again.

Yeah it is! Xavier is getting out of hand

Still need to read

Way of X#1 (Reread)
Eternals #4

One more day for the new MU titles to hit, so I went ahead and got a couple new #1's instead of going back to Hickman's F.F or the Defenders (which I need to make sure not to stay away too long as I will do what I always do and get side-tracked by other titles and never get back to what I wanted to read
 :-\
But anyway, these are also titles I have always been interested in so ...

Invaders #1 (1975) - This was very odd to read as there are editor's note captions in a couple places in the book that literally say
* see Invaders #1
I'm like "Am I not reading Invaders #1?
Turns out that this issue (and issue #2) was all set to be Giant-Size Invaders #2 when Marvel decided to stop printing the 50「 books and go to smaller page count 25「 size titles. So they essentially ripped the story that WAS going to be in GS-Invaders into two, smaller issues and made them Invaders #1 and Invaders #2 BUT they kept all the same writing in issue #1 due to time constraints, but edited issue #2's content a little as they had more time.
That all said, there are a couple things I want to say about reading this issue -
1- I tried to look for Giant-Size Invaders #1 to read, as obviously there was one printed, but its not up on MU  :-\
2- Frank Robbins art is no-where near as bad in this first issue ... other than one panel. Very Frank Robbins
 :D

L.E.G.I.O.N '89 #1 (1989 ... duh  :D) - So I have always wanted to read this and I really needed to start using my subscription to DCI so I added this series (Still have JSA and Injustice stuff to get through  :-\). I knew nothing about this series other than, I thought, it being about the Legion of Super-Heroes. Well, it is, kind of. For those not in the know (which I believe will be a total of zero people  :D), this series takes place after the Invasion event in 1988. As we all know, I assume, is that the Legion is based in the 31st century so ... yeah ... this is a precursor series to all of that stuff. I totally was not aware of that. I had just thought it was another version or booting of my LoSHs. The fact that this is prior to them ... waaaaaaay prior to them ... kind of makes me want to read it even more. Plus, I rediscovered  there is a "sister" title that starts a few months after this issue that is about the Legion, my Legion, five years after the Magic Wars.
I told myself "MAGIC WAR?" ... Oh, yeah? So know I have to add the last arc of Levitz run so I can read that arc and be ready for the five years later stuff.
Did I just complicate myself? I think so, I know I complicated my reading
 ;D ;D

I did a good amount of reading the other 2 nights!

THOR 14: The best, consistent, greatest title from Marvel for a decade plus. Oh MAN This finale had it all, and boy did I love every moment of it!! So damned GREAT!

BETA RAY BILL 1: Such sadness for Bill, such heart ache, gimme more Bill! I want this!

MAESTRO 4: Hee hee, still awesome! Always awesome!!

IRON MAN 8: Uh...its so...eclectic, but I think I"m enjoying it! LOL

WOLVERINE 11: I have never liked vampires mixed in with the MCU proper. Against Blade? Or monster hunters? Fine. As a worldly opponent to mutants? Don't care. That attitude is not changed here in the slightest.

DAREDEVIL 29: Definitely a different kind of Hornhead in Hell's Kitchen! I'm still enjoying my time through this run of Zdarsky's.

WARHAMMER 40K 3-5: I dig me some Space Marines, and Gillen delivered! I'm a fan of the genre, and a fan of this!!

GOTG 9-13: Umm...hmmm...ah....wha? I'm not sure...what I feel? If I was paying for this, I'd drop it. As it is, I think I'm interested enough to see where it continues to go.

DARKHAWK HEART OF THE HAWK: I love how 90s lame but retro/nostalgic AWESOME this character is!!! I found it to be fun.

JUSTICE LEAGUE 40-41: I thought I had to wait until Dark Metal was over to read this. Nope, I've been missing out! Time to read! Doug Mahnke! Eradicator!! Count me in!!

Then I'll try to get Batman/Superman caught up....then onto Future State looks!

Preach it! Comics are expensive(Ha, news flash  ::) ;D) but it was still hard for me to stop getting this darn book. Even though the wait is a mere 3 tinee months. Immortal was rough as well, but this ... yeah, I miss it so

BETA RAY BILL 1: Such sadness for Bill, such heart ache, gimme more Bill! I want this!

Once again the congregation says "Amen"

WARHAMMER 40K 3-5: I dig me some Space Marines, and Gillen delivered! I'm a fan of the genre, and a fan of this!!

Always loved the look of the miniatures of this property. I see one or two of the huge print omnibi at the used book store quite often, but as I don't read novels too much anymore (can't remember when I read my last one) I walk away. But man the covers look cool on those puppies as well

GOTG 9-13: Umm...hmmm...ah....wha? I'm not sure...what I feel? If I was paying for this, I'd drop it. As it is, I think I'm interested enough to see where it continues to go. [/quote]

I think, aside from not being sure mentally about this book  :D, that the two "Young Avengers" spoil this for me. As much as I truly want to read about most of the characters in this, especially Kl'rt the Super Skrull  :), I just have no interest, whatsoever, in reading anything about Wiccan and the Hulkling. And while non of that feeling stems from them being gay, at all, I just find them characters I can't stand. I think it stems from both the way I was introduced to them (HEINBERG!!!)  :D, and that I really, really really really, hate the name Hulkling.
 :P

Still need to read

Way of X#1 (Reread)
Eternals #4

I looked for the new MU books this morning around 2am as I was up with leg pain and wanted to start reading them, but Marvel had yet to update the new week's offerings, so I read some old LoSH to try and line up the two Keith Giffen series

Legion of Super-Heroes #57 (1989)
Legion of Super-Heroes #58 (1989)
Legion of Super-Heroes #59 (1989) - I decided I wanted to read the Magic War arc but also wanted to jump in a little earlier to catch any carryover conversations or whatever so I started three issues back and I gotta say wow, Levitz (with the help/aid of Giffen) really got hardcore towards the end of his time on this title. The Emerald Empress has never been so damn harsh and issue #58, unbeknownst to me, was also
the death of the same floating eye having member of the Fatal Five
Jeff, if you are a fan of the Emerald Empress and have never read these two (or you have and have since forgotten about 'em), I would hit up #57 and #58 ... and maybe even #56 as the way #57 opened it may also tie-in ... but I found these two issues more than enough to get the story. Very glad I took the time to read those two issues.
Oh, and issue #59 was a decent "look back" story of the original Invisible Boy, for those wondering  ;D

Serial #3 - another good chapter.  Hard to only read one issue at a time.  I want more!

We Only Find Them When They池e Dead #1-3 - Al Ewing Sci-Fi series.  Reminds me a little of his Ultimates.  And I知 liking this series a lot.  It痴 about a crew that mines the dead bodies of Celestial-like gods for meat. And that痴 just the back drop of this character driven action story.  Thumbs up!

Stray Bullets Vol 1: Innocence of Nihilism - Definitely getting the next volume of this.  Started out really good. Then a couple of chapters made me think it wasn稚 for me.  Then it wrapped up strong enough for me to want more.  At first I thought this was a 鼎riminal like book which might be what confused me in the middle.  I get it now.  It痴 really more of cross between Criminal and Terry Moore痴 Strangers in Paradise.  Very character driven with a strong crime element.

Pretty strong week, for me especially  ;D

(Ha, just saw that ... Strong/Weak??)

Anyway, I was able to get through my (admittedly small) list and had time left over to read something, that for the life of me, have no idea why I read it. I just saw it there on MU and decided to read the darn thing.
 :-\

First off however, the last two from my list this week

Way of X#1 (Reread) - I really like how Hickman/Si Spurrier touch on the main issue with resurrecting people ... who are they, really? That discussion is touched on here by the perfect person to bring it to light. Kurt Wagner!

Eternals #4 - F'n love this take on this group. Gillen is bring a Hickman'esgue style to this old group of "Gods" and bringing with him a sense of humor. Yep, I am loving it.

X-Factor #55 (1986) - I honestly have no idea why I read this. I saw it was up in the recently added section for the week and so, yeah, I just read it. It wasn't bad, but ... yeah, that was odd for me. Maybe it was the supernatural pull of seeing the Mignola cover? Eh, I'm not a huge fan of Mignola art on the Big Two so ... yeah, no idea
