The Visitor #6 - And we come to a close with a title that feels like it's on its own but actually ties into the origins of the Rai comic.  Despite my early dislike of the title, I came around to it and enjoyed it in the end.  Glad it's only a 6 issue mini as that's really all that is needed.

Stillwater #7 - the chaos around the bombing continues.  Story progresses this issue as the hunt and the escapes moves forward.

Seven Secrets #8 - Growing a little tired of this one as the story seems to have stalled with nothing really new for a few issues here.  Our heroes are still on the run.  We discover one secret but there are still questions surrounding it so not really a big reveal.  Hoping for some resolutions next issue.

Department of Truth #9 - Another one I'm starting to grow weary of.  I usually love the Oswald issues but as usual not the ones without him.  And this is one without him.  It's getting too complicated and weird.  I'll give it 3 more issues to clear things up.

Fire Power #11 - Still fun!  The big battle continues leading up to next issues extra sized issue.  Get a reveal in this one that we as readers already knew about but is a surprise for our main character.  It should lead to quite a bit of drama in the future.

Ascender #15 - Descender and Ascender officially collide with the story of what happened to Tim.  This story should be headed towards a big finale soon.

Aaaaaaaarggggghhhhhhh!   I thought this was the end of the story!  But NO.  There's one more 24 issue version called Injustice Gods Amoung Us: Ground Zero!  And that will be the end - I think?  Lol.  Ok.  That being said this series was pretty good as the battle between team Supes and team Bats get ever closer to a crescendo.  This series brings in Hawkman who was missing from the earlier years.  Enjoyed having him aboard.

But I need a break.  So instead of moving on to the Ground Zero series, I'm going to go ahead and read the 14 issue Year Zero series first.  That should be fun and prep me for the big ending to come.  Plus - I've made Perry wait long enough and he's been dyeing to talk about it.

Commanders in Crisis #1 - Hmmm.  This has potential but also has potential to get too preachy.  I'll withhold judgement until I've read a couple more issues.

Crossover #1 - Sigh.  This also has a lot of potential for a good story.  But it is definitely going to be too preachy.  I could go on a huge rant how this is misrepresenting religious people but I will spare you that.  Other than that, the general premise is interesting so I'll give this a couple more issues to not offend me too much.

Deep Beyond #1 - I liked this.  Good first issue introducing us to the characters and the mystery.  I'm onboard this series.

Geiger #1 - Really like this.  Glad these number 1's are getting better with each read.  I can't wait to see what our hero finds when he gets to open up the bomb shelter.

Nocterra #1 - Woo Hoo!  Three in a row!  I like this too.  Funny, I seem to be in for these post apocalyptic comics.  Is that all Image puts out these days?  That's ok because I'm looking forward to seeing how this mystery plays out.  Another interesting premise that you don't see every day.

---------------------------------------------

The Old Guard: Tales Through Time #1 - Funny first story using the old joke of the 100 year old hammer.  Should be an entertaining series.

Post Americana #1 - This is a little bit disgusting but does have potential of being pretty action packed.  Reminds me a little bit of Die!Die!Die! but in a post apocalyptic world.

Radiant Black #1 - I liked it!  Has a bit of the "innocence" from Invincible but without the blood and gore.  Typical origin story in this issue with more to come next issue including the villain.

Serial #1 - LOVE IT!  Can't remember if this Brandon person was in past Terry Moore series or not.  I'll have to look him up.  But seeing Zoey back in action is exciting!

Snow Angels: Season Two #1 - Not sure why this needed a Season Two since we just pick up where the last issue of the first series left off.  But the Jeff Lemire story continues to pull me in as answers have just created more questions.  And I bet we get more answers next issue - with more questions!

Time Before Time #1 - Oh Yeah.  Gonna be a fun time travel story.  Familiar trope of a futuristic time travel syndicate with a defector but I like how this has started and am looking forward to reading more.

The Witcher: Witch’s Lament #1 - Hmmm.  Well, the story is interesting but the art is terrible.  Going to try to get through this one but it'll be hard with this art.

I'm going to break out the stories in this Anthology as there are a lot of good writers in this one.

Oh yeah there is. May have to add this!

Gamma Flight #1... curious about this team.

So have you had a chance to hit this one yet? If so, how was the start of this mini for you? I'm waiting the three months for it to hit MU, but never hurts to have a little good ... or bad  :D word of mouth prior to reading)

The Old Guard: Tales Through Time #1 - Funny first story using the old joke of the 100 year old hammer.  Should be an entertaining series.

Flipped through .. issue #2 ...? (or was it #3?) at the LCS recently and realized it is a mini with different artist and writers. I didn't know that prior. Looks like that style of mini has been floating around at Image a lot recently. With more and more creators coming on other creator's properties to tell their story ideas. I like it!!
(Well, other than the awful Black Hammer Origins title that I only found one story worth the price, and even then I felt a little robbed)
 :-\

As for the rest of the week for me ... not that I'm closing in on being up to date with Immortal Hulk (I want to finish issue #49 around a day prior to the last issue hitting) and with Hickman temporarily leaving the X-Men with the recent X-Men issue #21 (and not coming back until Inferno), I suddenly have the urge to to go back and re-read a title of his from before his X stuff. Get it all one dose like I am doing with Immortal. I can't imagine all the stuff I forgot or didn't catch the first time through
 :D

Not sure yet what I will add, if it will be Secret Warriors, The Fantastic Four or his two Avengers title, but yeah, I have that to look forward to.

I need to finish my Injustice and JSA run over at DCI as well.

Oh Time, you elusive bitch!!
 :D

Black Hammer: Reborn #1 - YES!!! Sweet mother of comicdom, YES!!! Interesting art work (it fits but also seems out of place, in a good way) helps but oh yeah, having the boss Lemire back on this title is what I have been missing. Great start with a great last page!!

Immortal Hulk #38
Immortal Hulk #39
Immortal Hulk #40
Immortal Hulk #41 The Leaders plan revealed and a great twist on the Hulk vs Thing battle made this a pretty damn fun read!!

---------------------------------------------

Time Warp (2013) #1 - anthology of sci-fi stories
     1.  R.I.P - by David Lindelof & Jeff Lemire - Ha!  Good story starring Rip Hunter drawn by Lemire. With dinosaurs!

     2.  It's Full of Demaons by Tom King & Tom Fowler - oh man that was disturbing! And answers an age old question with an unexpected answer!

     3.  I Have What You Need by Gail Simone & Gael Bertrand - that was a strange one.  Interesting set of events but not sure I like how the ending was told.

     4.  The Grudge by Simon Spurrier & Michael Dowling -  And here’s the shift.  Kind of lame story with an old premise.

     5.  Dead Boy Detectives by Tony Litt, Mark Buckingham, & Victor Santos - this was part two of a story I guess was running through multiple anthology titles.  Wasn’t good enough to make me want to find the rest of the story.

     6.  She's Not There by Peter Milligan & M.K. Perker - another just ok story but a bit more interesting than the previous.  A man looking to bring his dead wife’s ghost back.

     7.  00:00:03 by Ray Fawkes & Andy MacDonald - Kind of boring.

     8.  Warning Danger by Matt Kindt - ouch.  Really bad.

     9.  The Principle by Dan Abnett & I.N.J. Culbard - But we end with a bang.  Good time cop story where your job is protecting those in the past from other travelers who want to kill them.

Post Americana #2
Radiant Black #2
Serial #2

——————————————————————-

DC TheNew Frontier Vol 1 TPB - I didn’t think I’d read this but as I’m reading it I’m thinking maybe I have?  But anyway, I clearly don’t remember so this was fun to read.  I like how it incorporates non superheroes from DC’s past like Rick Flagg, the Losers, Challengers of the Unknown.  And fun how most of the time we see the DC heroes it’s in their secret identities and in some cases before they even become the superhero they will one day be.  Ends in a cliffhanger and I’m looking forward to reading Vol 2 soon.

Commanders in Crisis #2 - And I’m out.  Haven’t enjoyed this series really at all.  The characters are uninspiring and I’m finding I really don’t care about them or what happens.  Clear sign this isn’t for me.

Crossover #2 - And I’m not surprised, this got better.  Won’t have to be offended as they explain a little more about the “religious” villain and it’s clear he’s pulling one over on his congregation.  So it’s really just him that’s evil and not a complete attack on religious people.  I’m glad because the overall story gets more interesting and I find I do want to know what’s going to happen to these characters. This issue gets a thumbs up.

Deep Beyond #2 - still setting things up so while a little plain, it’s still interesting.  I’m thinking the real adventure starts next issue.

Geiger #2 - A view inside Las Vegas and some new interesting characters.  I’m liking this story. And Gary Franks art is just fun to look at.

Well thanks for the info. I had feared it wasn't for me, but was still slightly interested, not driven to read it, just more of a :Hey, a new number one. Maybe I will try it" ya know?  ;D But now it seems I can drop this from my "Want to try" list.

Or, at the very least, I can slide that puppy down to the bottom of that ever increasing list
 :D :D

Deep Beyond #2

Nocterra #2
The Old Guard: Tales Through Time #2
Post Americana #2
Radiant Black #2
Serial #2

——————————————————————-

Nocterra #2 - The action doesn’t waste anytime as the villain and heroine have their first confrontation.  Building up to be a good story with a hint of mystery to boot.

The Old Guard: Tales Through Time #2 - a samurai story and a western. The perfect stories to go together.  Thumbs up.

Post Americana #2 - I’m not sure I’m going to make it through this one.  Been a long time since a comic literally turned my stomach. This one does that.  And yet I can’t look away.  I feel I must know what happens to our heroes!

Radiant Black #2 - Good second issue as we are introduced to the baddie.  Still has that Invincible feel so I like it.

Serial #2 - A good second issue and the murderer continues their crimes.  Can’t wait to see Zoe in action.

Twas a very off week for me. Well, not really, I would say a normal one now that I think about it. Finished about 5 to 10 books, but started about 30 during the time
 ;D
But still, I thought I would get more in than I ended up getting

Marvel Two-in-One #7 (1975) - Wanted to jump on the Defenders around this time (mid-seventies) so I could by-pass some of the earlier stuff written by Englehart (Whom I normally enjoy, but his first couple issues of this title left me cold with that freakin' Nameless One story arc, so wanted to jump ahead a bit). Now I also wanted to get into this title again at some point so this seemed a good issue to start as I saw someplace that this is a prequel to or ties in with the story that is in that Defenders #20, where the new writer (Gerber) jumps on, a spot I figured would be a good place to start reading Defenders. So yeah, I decided to add this issue to my reading list to get as much story insight as I could regarding what Gerber was trying to do ... as he also writes 2-n-1 I thought it would be a benefit. Man did I screw the pooch with THAT decision. This issue, and the entire story is tied into earlier Defenders all the way back to the Marvel Feature days of the group, the damn Nameless One. Going back this one issue did nothing but put me more in the middle of that huge story and for me was almost pointless as the Defenders issue below does a fantastic job of recounting all the events from this issue as well as the rest of the Defenders issues that tied into this damn story!

Defenders #20 (1975) - Yeah, so again, I started this run with this issue as it was Gerber's first issue on the title and I was expecting a new story ... well, a new story that continued from that Marvel 2-in-1 issue. But no, this does not start a new story but instead ties up (hopefully for a long time) Englehart's Nameless One story arc. The one that I had jumped all this way forward to avoid. And yes, I know, I know, all I had to do was look on the blasted cover to see what was instore for me. It clearly shows the Nameless One right there!!! Directly on the cover! Although they did, in a way, sneak the little bastard in there by using a different, darker shade of color on the second head. I looked right past that and just saw a uni-headed demon on the cover, totally missing his second damn head!
 ;D :D
Well, hopefully next issue will get me to where I want to be, reading a new Gerber penned Defenders arc!
All that said I am still happy to have read this, I mean if I didn't I would have totally missed the fact that Doctor Strange, a mystic hero, allowed a young woman to get hit by a train in order to save ... a harmonica !!!  :D :D
