Sadly, I am back in the office and have to wait until this evening to get my pull. One of the perks to working from home was that I was running to my LCS (the Laughing Ogre) when it opened at 10AM on Wednesdays. I'll post later tonight.

Sounds like we’ll be going back in September. I’m gonna miss the freedom of working from home.

Children of the Atom #1 - Meh.  Not for me.  I'm not picking anymore of this one up.  Just have no interest in these new characters nor their storyline.

Taskmaster #4 - This comic cracks me up.  And has a lot of fun action.  Taskmaster vs Okoye is a fun battle.  Looking forward to next issues match up.

Jupiter’s Legacy #1-6 - Wow.  They really did change a lot in the Netflix show.  I think I like the comic version better.  Glad a re-read this as I had forgotten a lot of what happens.  Still thumbs up!

Reckless TPB Vol 1 - Brubaker and Phillips noir TPB in the spirit of Criminal.  Actually, might as well be a Criminal comic as the twists and turns are similar.  Good book and will be a good series as there's another one already out.

Immortal Hulk #44 - Fun issue with the U-Foes.  I'm ready for the real Hulk to be back and put some whopping on these guys.

Non-Stop Spider-Man #1 - Ugh.  I couldn't make it past four pages.  The writing is just as disjointed as Bachlo's art.  Not subjecting myself to this.

Wolverine: Black, White, & Blood #4 - That was a fun little mini.  The Mystique story was my favorite but the best part of the series was the way the red color's stood out on the black & white pages. I don't think I'd stay on for a long period of time since all the stories take place in the past but for this short run, I enjoyed it.

Ha !!!
Saw the writer and artist on this and just skipped right over. I was not much ever a Joe Kelly fan, not a hater, just never was enamored with him and of course we just talked about the artist ...
 :D :D

I haven't been at the keyboard much this week so I am a little behind, even with last week where I finished a couple Dr. Strange issues and never got to put 'em up. Going ahead and throwing here just to make it easier for me

Doctor Strange #4
Doctor Strange #5 - Overall I enjoyed this little romp down Magic Street. Although there isn't anything majorly wowing me so far with this title, other than a little trippy feeling every now and then, and I think it is making it worth the while for me.
 :)

As for this week, I have knocked out a little here and there.

DCI

Injustice: Gods Among Us #27
Injustice: Gods Among Us #28
Injustice: Gods Among Us #29
Injustice: Gods Among Us #30
Injustice: Gods Among Us #31
Injustice: Gods Among Us #32
Injustice: Gods Among Us #33
Injustice: Gods Among Us #34
Injustice: Gods Among Us #35
Injustice: Gods Among Us #36 I both felt happiness in the last couple of issues (Alfred) and felt sad the last couple of issues (Clarks parents ... all of them), so overall, that makes it worth it, yeah? Still hard for me, and I am sure anyone, to take most of things that happen in this stuff as anything other than "out of character" and some of it gets to me (especially Martian Manhunter) but I also calm myself down knowing this is exactly what it is suppose to be, an alternate universe tale with alternate characters. Not OUR DC characters. Still ticked about Nightwing, Mister Tom Taylor!!!
 ;D

MU

Immortal Hulk: Great Power #1 - I guess something happened back when Immortal Hulk #14 came out, when this story takes place, that allowed "Hulk" to be removed from Banner and thrown into Peter Parker? Not one of Tom Taylor's best, but I read a lot of Taylor's stuff over the past few weeks, so maybe I need a little break? I don't want to get bored with him. Still no idea why this came out so late in the Immortal run?

Immortal Hulk #30
Immortal Hulk #31 - This is my favorite arc of the entirety that I have read of this title. Although it isn't over yet and I still have more to go, I remember reading this the first time around and absolutely loving it. I feel the exact same so far. What Ewing did here with Zemnu (or Hulk as he was called way back when) is just utterly brilliant!!! Yep, loved seeing the U-Foes again (in the upcoming issues), but nothing beats this thing for me.
And oh, the value of the letters page shows through as one of the people that wrote in helped me understand more of what Ewing was trying to show me with Banner being at the end of this Universe's incarnation. Was Hulk to be the next Galen (Galactus) going from this Universe to the next? Hmmmm? It all ties in ...
 :)

Black Cat #3 - Still enjoying this issue, though I tire of the Tie-In stuff. Still enjoyable though.

Strange Academy #9 - Well, sort of the X-Men Baseball issue here as the parents all get together for contests and fun. And wait till you see who some of these parents of some of these kids are. Haha, Awesome.

Taskmaster #4 - Jeff and I are in simpatico here. This title is fun as hell. I have always liked the Taskmaster, but I suddenly find, after this, I like him a lot more now. Hopefully MODOK will return to form with its next issue and along with this title we can have two great last issues to two very enjoyable limited series.

Eternals #3 - Best issue of the run so far. Loved this one. And holy hell, how about that list?!?!?! You will know it when you see it. I mean ... the names ... ALL THOSE NAMES !!!!!
 :o

DC/Comixology

Nightwing #81 - Watch this issues value on Ebay soon, hell, I am sure already actually as the last page cliffhanger is going to send this issue and perhaps the next, into the atmosphere. Okay Tom, you pulled me back to your side here. This title is great. Nothing short of it.

EDIT - Forgot one

Black Hammer: Visions #5 - Although not a spectacularly original issue, it was probably the best of the bunch so far, for me. Kinda curious how the name of the character that Skulldigger "chases" was not taken. At least I have never heard of it and that is kind of cool. When you can get a "new" character name.
 ;D

Injustice Gods Among Us: Year Five #1-20 - Halfway through the Final Year.  I didn't realize we changed writers in Year Four and he continues on this Year Five as well.  Not too bad but it did seem different and now I know why.    There are some funny moments with Bizarro in this one as we head towards what I assume will be the final confrontation between Supes and Bats.  Plus we finally get Hawkman in this one!

I really like this cover to issue #4.  Is that Starlin art?

It is being credited as Frank Brunner, the same guy doing the interiors of this arc (for another issue and then the great Gene Colan takes over!!!)
Funny thing is however, according to Marvel Database, that the next issue, #5, is being credited for having Starlin inking THAT cover. That's crazy you were right there!

Daredevil #28 - Back on track now that the Tie-In to King in Black is over.  And some good character developments all around.

The Amazing Spider-Man #61 - It's weird seeing Fisk in both Daredevil and this book.  Get's a little confusing as to what is happening when he's in a scene.  Not a fan of the new Spider-Man costume either.  I get what it's for and it will obviously go away at some point so I'll just have to hold out.  Going to stick around and see how this new direction goes at least for a little while.

Strange Academy #9 - Perry's right - a fun issue reminding me of Parent Day at my kid's school.  Unlike Children of the Atom - these are some new character's that I love getting to know!

Eternals #3 - Ah the plot thickens!  And we learn quite a bit about Thena.  I'm enjoying learning about these characters as well.  And in Gillen's hands they are thriving.  So Perry - do you think they used a random generator for all those names?

EDIT - just realized I had the Eternals listed as E"X"ternals.  Fixed it in this post but not the others.  Not sure what happened there.

I loved seeing Sym(?), is that how you spell that? ... No Perry, you spell that like this; T.H.A.T.  :D :D

 ::)
Okay, sorry for the dad joke,  ;D  but I think that is how you spell that character. I am not too familiar with him as again, I was not really into the X-Men during his heyday, but I remember seeing him on a lot of X covers back when my younger brother was getting the X books. Just brings back fond memories.
Also, was also fun to see that Man-Thing must have been throwing his 'root' around. I mean daddy Man-Thing? WOW!!!
 :D :D

Eternals #3 - Ah the plot thickens!  And we learn quite a bit about Thena.  I'm enjoying learning about these characters as well.  And in Gillen's hands they are thriving.  So Perry - do you think they used a random generator for all those names?

Had to have, yeah? I mean I spent a decent amount of time scanning through them ... I forgot it now but I know there was a "Pickle Primus" or something like that  :D :D ... but I grew tired due to sheer volume of names and moved on. I was hoping to find some kind of homage or something like it in there, and there may be plenty of them, but I didn't catch anything ... yet
 ;)

EDIT - just realized I had the Eternals listed as E"X"ternals.  Fixed it in this post but not the others.  Not sure what happened there.

Your "X" memory of the 90's Externals I bet.  :D ;D

All kidding aside, remember back when Marvel was looking through the dictionary for any cool sounding word with an X in the word so they could make another mutant team to sell (Kinda like they continue to do now)
 ;D
I mean I remember a team called X.S.
 :D
(or something like that anyway. Ha)

Don't forget X-Static.

Oh yeah!!
 :D

Dropping in with just a few more issues read, but have a comment on one so before I forget...  :D

Immortal Hulk #32
Immortal Hulk #33 - And one of my favorite arcs comes to a close and, to quote Xemnu, I find I am "vewy, vewy hungwy" for more!

Thor #231 (1975) - So THIS thing :-\ I tell ya. I have no problem with dated dialog when it comes to this era, I get it, it was a different time. I also have no problem with comic-booky action sequences that are more for fun than based on physical science. And I surely understand and enjoy some of the older wacky things that these super-heroes end up doing at times (Like Superman having little Supermen fly from his fingertips  :D) but for some reason, I had a problem with what Gerry Conway did in this issue.

In the previous issue of Thor (one I didn't read) it seems Thor and Hercules had a battle under the streets of New York and, apparently, to escape the huge cavern they were trapped in, Hercules pushed a perfectly cylindrical chunk of Earth and asphalt up flying into the atmosphere to create a hole for them. But "perfect" core sample aside, what happens next just hit me all kinds of wrong ... well, 'wronger' than Herc doing what he just did.

After outcries from passerbys about the hole they just created, Herc and Thor decide they need to "undo the damage we have done". First, Thor flies Herc to find the chunk lying across a line of barges, so Thor drops Herc atop said "chunk" which then sinks to the bottom of the bay. Then Herc swims down to get under Mr. Perfect Chunk, throws it into the sky where Thor hits it with his trusted hammer towards its original spot. Then, somehow, retrieves Herc from the bottom of the bay (off panel) just in time to fly back to the location of the hole to once again strike the chunk where it perfectly slides into it hole. AND THEN STAYS THERE?!?!?

(https://i.postimg.cc/Y9pLgDwq/t1.jpg) - Here you can see said "perfect" chunk which landed in the bay as Hercules prepares to hurl it in the sky

(https://i.postimg.cc/RF75rG3f/t2.jpg) - I forgot to get a pic of Thor hitting it after Herc threw it, but I think ... WATCH OUT!!!!  :D

(https://i.postimg.cc/t4YKR9Z9/t3.jpg) - At least he didn't leave his pal Herc at the bottom of the bay

(https://i.postimg.cc/fy8PZPM3/t4.jpg) - And right after Thor once again hits the freaking log of FUCKING DIRT (that has flown into the sky, been underwater, hit by Thor twice) ... lickity clickity, Bob's your uncle !!! And now cars can safelty drive over it? Right? Oh wait, was this entire thing a huge piece of asphalt? Is that why the water and godly impacts produced no damage? No wonder the taxes in New York are crazy. Those guys pave their roads with 400 feet of Bitumen !!!!

Oh good ole Gerry Conway at his ... best?

That must’ve been what he was thinking.  OR he’s completely confused and thinking of XS, the speedster in DC’s Legion of Super-Heroes.   :D ;D

:D Probably.   ;D Like I said I wasn't reading any X books then, merely looking over the shoulder of my younger brother.

——————————————————————-

Captain Marvel #27 - Man was that a girl story or what?  Don’t get me wrong, it was likely a very good girl story but I was definitely not the target reader.  Hopefully more explosions next issue.   ;D

Spider-Woman #10 - glad to have this wrapped up.  Good jumping off point…or jumping on point next issue.

Iron Fist: Heart of the Dragon #3 - this seemed like a filler issue.  Nothing really happened nor mattered.

Thor #13 - Good issue once again.  Odin all armored up and Thor trying to get back.  Good drama and a battle royale next issue!

X-Force #18 - still one of the better X-titles.  I like the focus on Quentin.  Not so much in the Jean-Wolverine-Cyclops creepiness.

Marvel #8 - LOVED the art on the Silver Surfer story.  Even in all black and white the metallic feel of Surfers skin is drawn amazing.  Complete with reflections seen on him.  Really good.

Iron Man #7 - what the heck?  Just when everything’s coming to head you get a curve ball out of no where!  Fun title this still is.

I finally had a calm evening and caught up on TT Academy and the latest Suicide Squad series.

Jupiter’s Legacy Vol 2 #1-5 -  Good ending.  Man I forgot how short this story really is.  This could have wrapped in easily three seasons on Netflix.  I did chuckle at the ad for Requiem at the end if issue 5.  “Coming 2019.”   :D

How did you like it?  It’s one of Perry’s favorite runs.

The story and art are a little hard to follow, but I'll stick it out a couple more issues.

Well that depends.  :)

Rodney, when you say the "latest" series, are you talking about the current, most recent run, v7, the one up to issue #4 (I think) or do you mean the Tom Taylor run prior to this current incarnation, the one that, to my sadness, only lasted 11 darn issues ?

I honestly don't have an opinion on the current run as I haven't tried it yet, but yes, I did love the one prior, with the characters Osita and Thylacine.
 :)

Finished off a couple more last night, but nothing grand ...

MU

Iron Man #7 - Story is still fun, but man they are dragging it out. Excited about the last page ... Some of those guys look familiar, but I can't place a single one. Are they all new or should I know them? I swear a couple of them look ... again, familiar as hell, but ... just ... can't ... place 'em

Immortal Hulk #34
Immortal Hulk #35
Immortal Hulk #36
Immortal Hulk #37 - Retaining so much more of the story this time around. I tell ya, the things you miss when you are tired, too damn mentally slow or just full of drugs  ;D Or all three  :)

Doctor Strange #6 (1975) - And finally, it took 6 issues to get here (well 5 really as we had to sit through a reprint issue around issue #3 or #4  >:() but he is here. Dormammu is here*

* Well, he shows up on the last page, so ... okay ... maybe he will be here next issue!!  :D

Giant-Size Super Villain Team-up #1 (1975) - And this was ... okay. Fun seeing Big John Buscema drawing Namor (he was so good at it) but story was not all that great. They took reprints from Sub-Mariner #20 and ... crap ... another 60's comic that I have now forgotten, tied them together and concluded both of them with another short little tie-in. So not totally a reprint issue, but may have well been

Ahhh, yeah. haven't tried that one yet, but I guess the art is kinda wonky for you so maybe I'm not missing much  :)

Oh, and congrats on replacing that Titan run, buddy!!! Without saying too much I thought that was very cool. Nice to see that there are still some good guys in this damn world.
