Batman Secret Files #3 - fun little anthology issue with the last story preluding Joker War.  I might enjoy this.

Joker 80th Anniversary 100 Page Super Spectacular #1 - another fun anthology of Joker stories by different creators.  Not a must read but enjoyable.

The Batman’s Grave #6 & 7 - it’s been so long since I’ve read issue 5 that I had a hard time remembering what’s going on.  It’s coming back to me and Ellis is as interesting as ever.  Nice cliff hanger at the end of #7.  Looking forward to getting to the bottom of this.  Also a funny moment in this one involving the batmobile.   ;D

The Green Lantern Season Two #1 - New start and more Morrison strangeness.  A big change to the Guardians. A new way to recruit green lanterns. And a new mission for Hal.  Thumbs up.

The Green Lantern Season Two #2 - Surprise! Another Morrison weirdo story.  But at least these are generally one issue stories with an overarching story tiding them all together.  Looking forward to Hal being back on the airstrip next issue.

Nightwing #79

I’m going to jump into this title once issue #78 hits DC Universe Infinite (around September) since Tom Taylor is taking over the writing.  How do you like it so far under his story telling?

Injustice: Gods Among Us #7-12 - Mirror Naster!  War with Atlantis! Division between Batman and Superman! Glad I’m re-reading this. Sooooo much fun!

Thor #8-11 -  Wow!  This was Awesome!  I really don’t want to spoil what happens here but this story is amazing.  Who knew bringing back Donald Blake would be so much fun?

Black Widow #2-4 - Wow! Again! Another good series! I love that it has Hawkeye and Bucky in it too and a great council of villains.  After the ending of issue 4 those villains are doomed.   Natalie is likely to just kill them.

Nightwing #79

I’m going to jump into this title once issue #78 hits DC Universe Infinite (around September) since Tom Taylor is taking over the writing.  How do you like it so far under his story telling?

I couldn't wait!
 :D

Went to the LCS to pick up the latest issue of Back Issue (The Legacy Issue!) and of course it still is not in yet. However, while there I did my usual talkin' and browsin' and saw an issue of Nightwing #78 and flipped through it pretty quick, put it back, then picked it right back up and read the entire damn thing. It was so good I almost reached for the next issue but decided I would not be THAT much of an ass  :D I decided to wait and see if the urge to continue wore off after I came home and ... well ... see ... I dropped Iron Man from my "instant buy" list and I'm also trying to drop the amazingly awesome Immortal Hulk so money wise, I have room ... and so ... yeah, I added Nightwing.  ;D
After reading that first issue I saw that THIS is what I wanted Nightwing to be, again, I couldn't not get it. Just not gonna wait 6 months for this. Not yet. Can't do it.
When you do read it, guys, I think you will find it is THE PERFECT Nightwing. Not much action, yet, but the set-up is worth the ride.
 8)

EDIT - Sorry, had to bolt as the wife was screaming at me to come eat breakfast  :D :D but forgot to mention that there is a fantastic homage to Perez and Wolfman in this as well
 ;)

Midway through the week and I spent more than I thought I would. At least I can shuffle out $10 for my Back Issue that didn't show and use it elsewhere.
 ;D

Also, in my attempt to stop getting a couple of those "I can't wait" Marvel books (especially with it's mere 3 months wait time), I decided to re-read Immortal Hulk from the beginning instead of getting the most current issue. It helps that, from what I understand, it is ending at issue #50 anyway.

Marvel Unlimited =

Immortal Hulk #1
Immortal Hulk #2 - Looking back at this now, knowing what we know is coming/happening, the pacing on this is interesting. First issue reintroduces us (if you will) to our main character with a good intro story, while issue two sets us up with a little history (the Hawkeye arrow in the eye thing ... IE: the killing of Banner) and also gives us the first mention of "The Green Door". A line I am pretty sure I just threw away at the time.

Marauders #17 - One of the few X-Books I intend to keep up with, although if this particular artist stays on the book I may quickly change my mind *yuk*. In this issue we see that
one more mutant regains her old powers as Callisto goes through the Crucible (having Storm be her chosen one to kill her and be reborn anew), while Kate (is odd not to type 'Kitty' here) gives an unexpected letter to the Verendi
It was a'ight, but damn that uninspired art ruined most of it for me
 :-\

Captain America #155 (1972) - The original telling of the 1950's Cap. Basically explaining why and how "Cap and Bucky" were in the comics in the 1950's even though the true "Cap" was frozen in the ice during that same time period. A pretty decent explanation really.

Other =

Way of X #1 - "Read" the first half of this online. Just wanted to take a sneak peek. I stopped (as planned) before finishing, but not because I didn't care for it (which I actually didn't, for the first half ... or the half of the half  :D), but no, I stopped because right after that part I didn't like, it seemed like it started to get kinda good. I didn't want to ruin my surprise nor did I want to wait another four months for issue #2 to hit MU if I read this now, so I bailed. Yeah, I may actually add this one to the MU X-Reading list as well. Even though that first part of the book was ... well ... not for me. And I say that NOT because of what happened, but ... well ... we will talk later. Let's just say that I think this may be leading to what Hickman has had planned all along, even though he is not writing this

Nightwing #78
Nightwing #79 - Already talked about how I feel about these and how I am adding this title to my 'get as soon as it hits' line-up (which currently only has a couple Big Two comics in it). Only thing I have to add is that I wish I had decided to get this title about three weeks later than I did. That way the next issue would be coming out this week or so  :D
I also have come to the conclusion that while I may not love everything he touches, I honestly think Tom Taylor may just be to me what Jeff Lemire is to Jeff.  :D
Although I now see he has a few more new or upcoming DC comics on Tom Taylor's credit list (including a new Batman title) so that fact may not be a good thing for my wallet if I decide to do the Nightwing thing again.
 :-\ ;D

Captain Marvel #22-24 - Awesome!  Great story in the future world of Captain Marvel: The End.  Our current day Carol has been transported there.  Some fun new characters, like Thor’s daughter, mixed with our Emma Frost and you have a good mix of personalities for this battle for the future.  Thumbs up.

Spider-Woman #5-8 - This was better than the first 4 issues.  It gets a little derailed with a King in Black tie-in but thankfully that’s only one issue. I’m sticking around to see how this wraps up.

Gideon Falls #27 - Well it’s over. And I’m still not really sure what happened here.  I think I liked it but I really don’t understand it.  All well.

Gideon Falls #27 - Well it’s over. And I’m still not really sure what happened here.  I think I liked it but I really don’t understand it.

Understand completely. I decided to stop trying to understand this title back around issue #15 as I always left wondering what I had just read. Hell, the main thing for me was I couldn't ever remember what I read from the prior month to even begin to help with the current issue.

I do want to read it collected (or full run) at some point however, but I say that about a lot of things!
 ;D

I took a little side trail off the beaten path for a few with last night's readings. No idea why but ...

Kick Ass #7 (2018) - Finally getting back to this title and I see we are under new management  :D Steve Niles takes over as writer and Marcelo Frusin (new to me) takes over art duties for this arc (? ... maybe?). I think the art surprised me at first, just the difference being glaring from what I was expecting, but I was happy with it. As for story, a decent start to this arc with ... I can't remember her name ... lets go with NKA (New Kick-Ass  :D) ... starts with NKA getting her new crew caught in a trap. Ooops

Daredevil #8 (2019) - Yep, finally getting back to this and yeah, that makes two titles I had wanted to catch up on that I read  ;D This one finds me still trying to get over artist Chechetto (sp?) not being on this book as man, I love his DD stuff. Not saying this is bad, but ...
Story wise, this is okay, but nothing grand. Matt has dinner with a crime family  :D

Black Cat #1 (Current) - No idea why I wanted to read this, other than when I saw that issue #2 was coming to MU this week, I had a pull, something nagging me to read this issue. No other reason. I liked it. Great opening act with Spidey's old Spider-Mobile Buggy  :D
I knew it was a "King in Black" Tie-in, which I normally would avoid, but as it was a new #1 for a new on-going, it didn't bother me to start a series like that. Is odd reading about Knull, without reading the "event" first (or during) so maybe I will add that now as well? I do want to read it so maybe ...

Immortal Hulk #3 - Continuing my re-read of this epic, already classic run of the Green Goliath and (not surprisingly) I had forgotten all about this issue and how it had the four different artists telling their character's side of this story. Wasn't all great art, but I do love having guest artist filling in in that manner. It is like the old Star Wars  Legacy by Ostrander and Duursema, where she would do ALL the main story arcs, but when they needed a fill-in artist due to time, they scheduled a nice one-shot issue for another artist to draw where it didn't take you away from the look of the main story. Loved that idea.

Snow Angels #3 - Another good issue.  I like how this is not complicated like Gideon Falls was but still mysterious.  I’m enjoying this Jeff Lemire series.

The Sentient TPB - Great Jeff Lemire Sci-Fi book!  It’s about a group of children aboard a colonist ship where things go awry when attacked by Separatists.  If I say anything more it would spoil the book and I can’t do that to you.  It is a bit predictable after the initial surprises but still an enjoyable read.  Pick it up and you won’t regret it.  Thumbs way up from me.

Yes sir. Read this back when it hit about a year ... or two ago (Or so?) Enjoyed it, from what I remember  :D

Edit - Yeah, okay, I was wrong. Not when it first came out. Haha But ... about one and a half years later. Right in-between what I had thought
 ;D

I've spent most of my reading time this week reading Lemire and Walta's Sentient. Jeff, I know you went back and read a lot of Lemire a month or so back, did you get to this one? A six issue mini (collected, sadly, for the same price on Comixology) by the creative team of Vision? I saw it and had to get it. It was a pretty good story. If you have not read it, and you end up getting it, try not to read about it first  ;D The spoiler in the description kinda made me mad when I got to it (it happens early) as I didn't get the impact I would have. Ya know, spoiled  ;D If you have read it ... what did ya think? Or link me to your original post as I obviously forgot it

Wow!  I can’t believe that was over a year ago.  It was that post that made me add it to my ComiXology wish list that day.  I thought it was like 3 or 4 months ago!  Man what a crazy year 2020 was.

Oh and I agree - don’t read the spoiler description of the trade.  I’m so glad I didn’t because it does give you a “Wow” moment if you don’t know ahead of time.

Look at me go! I'm like Jeff Jr. over here!  :D

Cable #7 - Ugh, okay, I'm on Jimmy's side this time. Phil Noto must be running behind (or he knows the book has been canceled and he is just phoning it in) because this art was pretty rough. However, the last panel has me excited about the next issue.

Immortal Hulk #4
Immortal Hulk #5
Immortal Hulk #6 - Continuing my re-read of this fantastic series and this time I am soaking everything in. I am even reading the letters columns this time around, something I only do about 50% of the time on most books. I am also seeing a lot more shout outs this time through, taking my time and really looking at each panel. Loving the bar names so far as well. Earlier we had a place called Buscema's and this time there is a scene in Trimpe's. I know Jimmy got frustrated back in the Bruce Jones era of Hulk (with the lack of the actual Hulk being in the Hulk title, if I remember correctly), but I kinda want to go back and re-read that stuff again now too. I won't, not yet, but yeah lovin' some Hulk

Captain America #156 (1972) - The finale of the 1950's era Cap and Bucky. Pretty cold that after the true Cap defeats this "gone crazy" Cap, he talks about how they are going to lock these two poor people back in their pretend Bucky and Pretend Cap cryogenic tubes and keep them frozen until something can be done about them. I'm like WHAT? Why Cap, why? ;D
And I haven't read a ton of Cap comics, but do they stay in those tubes all the way until ... Brubaker brings them back? Is that the first time we see them again? I think?
Also, think I am out of Cap for the time being. I will come back, but ... I think the Falcon/Winter Soldier show has me in a downer now. Should make me want to read MORE Cap, to get the bad taste out, but no, I just want to walk for a bit.

I’m going to jump into this title once issue #78 hits DC Universe Infinite (around September) since Tom Taylor is taking over the writing.  How do you like it so far under his story telling?

So far, it's been really good. Love the story, the pace, and the art. It's one of the better Bat books.
