Shazam #14 (somehow I missed this last month)

You know #15 came out today, yeah?

Hawkman #1
Hawkman #2
Hawkman #3
Hawkman #4

I was not a fan of this the time I tried it, but I am so glad, so happy, I dipped my toes back in when I did at issue #18. The stuff prior may be fine, may be great even (as that is where his new origin is shown), but from 18 up ... where I first learned of his new origin ... love it. LOVE IT!!

Had to jump on this one asap ...

X of Swords: Creation - Okay, I admit, the last page has me excited. Lots of comic here folks, and not as confusing as I had feared it would be, at least not yet.

Yes, I know Shazam #15 came out. I'll get it this weekend.

I picked up X of Swords: Creation and then put it back. I loved Empyre but not sure I want another big Marvel crossover.

WHOA   :o

15 issues of Shazam in 2 and a half years? Who'da thunk it?

Sorry for the snark, I just really wanted to have that title, and enjoy it...but DC just didn't get the work done on it. Also seemed like that was in the beginning of the Johns-Didio break up, and Johns was doing anything but comics seriously at the time.

Apparently all he was doing was ruining the Justice League movie for Ray Fischer and Zach Snyder, according to Ray Fischer

The Boys: Dear Becky #4 - Still fun watching the Boys at work again.  And getting a lot of insight into Butcher's thinking.  That's a scary thought!

DCeased: Hope at Worlds End #10 - Another nothing issue.  This things swings pretty regularly from "eh" to really good.  This week was "eh".

Family Tree #8 - Wrap up to the second arc and things have gotten crazier.  I'm ready to see how we got to the upcoming time jump.

Juggernaut #1 - Decent first issue setup stuff.  Taking on the Hulk next issue is promising.

Locke & Key: In Pale Battalions Go #1 - Good first issue.  I like a whole new tale in this universe of keys taking place in the past.  I hope we get a lot more of these.

RAI #7 - Hmmm.  My theories may be wrong since....well I won't spoil but this was a good one!  Going to be really fun when these characters collide!

I loved Empyre ...

Wow, that's good. You seem to be one of the few but damn glad it hit hard for some. I think, for me, somehow (I can't put my finger on it) that the FF side that was good, was good, but still had a Slott flavor to it that bugged me. Plus, the Coati (sp?) never seemed too much of a threat. They were, but ... hell, I don't know. Glad you dug it though

Also as for X of Swords, I can't blame ya. 22 issues is a bit much for a inner title event, considering it doesn't have any "tie-ins"
But dang it ... I'm in for it
 ;D
(then dropping almost all the X-books, but they have me for now)

Hawkman #1-4 - I enjoyed this.  Maybe it reads better when it’s free.   ;D

 :D
It may well have.
It wasn't terrible, but I lost interest after a few issues. Not due to story, or art, per se, but I think my head was not in the right space at the time. I kept trying to tie stuff in, fill the lacking history I have and as I am not knowledgeable on older Hawk stuff, other than he reincarnates  ;D, I was getting lost a little I think. I probably should have just let the book come to me instead of trying to force total understanding of a subject into my head all at once
 :-\

Good news is you will get the new origin/history a lot sooner than I did  ;D (Which again, I LOVE the new one!!!)

Apparently all he was doing was ruining the Justice League movie for Ray Fischer and Zach Snyder, according to Ray Fischer

Yeah, ole Ray is calling out everyone aint he. Haha, WB, Joss Wheadon, Johns, ... Now he has Aquaman by hs side though so I don't know what to think!

X of Swords: Creation #1 [...] I think everyone was right.  It's got to do with Excalibur; the swords in Cable; Apocalypse; and who knows what else!

Well I think the sword in Cable may be involved, but the story of the sword, with the ... others that were involved ... is not the main push like I had thought after a few issues of Cable. It became clear that the X of swords was not going to be about that certain planet shall we say
 ;D

DCeased: Hope at Worlds End #10 - Another nothing issue.  This things swings pretty regularly from "eh" to really good.  This week was "eh".

DAMN IT!

Juggernaut #1 - Decent first issue setup stuff.  Taking on the Hulk next issue is promising.

Is this just a Juggy story by itself? Just a mini, not an Swords tie-in? I haven't decided to get this yet so kinda curious. I know it isn't a "part" of the Swords storyline, but does it tie-in at all is what I guess I mean
 :D

Not much for me so far. Just one  ;D -

Cimmerian: People of the Black Circle #1 - Finally finished this. Ablaze is trying to go through all the Robert E. Howard Conan stories so there is nothing new here that I haven't read 50 times over, but the art is still hard for me to get past. Again, not that it is bad, just doesn't fit. Still, I will be getting the next (last) issue of this story as well to support a good thing (overall good thing at least)  ;D

Yeah, I don't blame ya. I'm kinda intrigued by that as well. But may try to wait on that one as DCU is soon only waiting 6 months to put stuff up on the site.

Although reading a "Winter" tale in the heat of Summer may throw the whole damn thing off
 :D

Nope. Nothing to do with the X-world or the crossover event.  You can even wait for it to hit Marvel Unlimited if you want.

Suicide Squad #9 - I really thought I hated this issue. And I was mentally tagging all the things I hated so I could write them here.  And even though I saw it coming...I didn’t see the part after that coming!  Hopefully you know what I’m talking about if you read this.  And just like that...BAM! I loved this issue.

That Texas Blood #3 - Another good issue. But I have some minor gripes. And they are gripes that only someone from Texas would have.  First off, the character goes to a ranch in Irving.  Well, Irving is a suburb right in the middle of Dallas and Ft Worth.  It’s where the Cowboys used to play football.  There’s not a ranch in 20 miles of that town!  You can’t tell where Dallas ends and Irving begins.  It’s all city and suburbs.  Second they show a sign where Irving’s slogan is “We Shoot Straight With You.” That slogan belongs to the east Texas town where my brother in law lives - Gun Barrel City.  Yes - that is the towns real name which is why it’s slogan makes sense and is funny.  In the grand scheme of things for the purpose of this story these things don’t matter but wouldn’t it have been cooler to use Gun Barrel City as the name of the town?  And there are lots of ranches out there.  Other than those nit picky things - great story progression and I’m anxious to peal more layers of this onion.

That Texas Blood #3 [...]  they are gripes that only someone from Texas would have.

Haven't read this, yet, so I avoided most of what you wrote,  ;), but I did read the first part and I totally get it. It is like all the Firemen that hated the movie Backdraft for all its inaccuracies
 :D

Suicide Squad #9 [...]  Hopefully you know what I’m talking about if you read this.  And just like that...BAM! I loved this issue.

Yes, I know what you're talking about!!
WOW.
 :o :o

I do have one problem with how Redondo drew the first part of ... the confrontation however. When the (sound effect) first happened  ;) the magazine was up to his eye, he even looked through it afterwards, but then, how did the ... first injury  :D get much lower after that?

Bad artist. Bad, bad, bad!
(Unless I totally messed up the understanding of what happened before the final page)
 :(

Couldn't wait for MU. Had to dive back in with #34 -

Immortal Hulk #33 - Another reread to refresh the old noggin'
Immortal Hulk #34 - So damn good. It didn't help when I saw that there is an Immortal She-Hulk one-shot out and I am so interested in that, I had to work my way towards getting fully caught back up with Hulkster.
Such a chore
 :D
(Just realized I still have Thor #7 and the Giant-Size Storm to read)
 :o

DCeased: Hope at Worlds End #10 - Eh, Jeff's right. Hope this finishes strong with its last two issues
Suicide Squad #9 - Other than the MAJOR artistic error (at least how I'm seeing it) this is another fine issue of one of my favorite DC books right now. Sad that it only has ... 2(?) more issues.

HBO Max: Raised by Wolves #1 - Free 8 pager about the new HBO series. Nothing new, bad art  :(
Blade Runner 2019 FCBD issue - Two free issues and one of them was worth it! This one has the origin of the main character from this same titled (and pretty darn good) Titan series!! Nice art if a welcome finishing touch. If you are a Blade Runner fan (I personally think the movie 2049 was FANTASTIC and a very worthy addition to the original!!!) then this series may just be for you.

Skulldigger and Skeleton Boy #4 - Totally missed that this came out. Jeff, make sure you get it as it was my favorite of the series so far. The last couple pages were pretty ... exciting!

Outlawed #1 - Meh.  Been here done that with Civil War.  I’ll be skipping the rest of this.

Spider-Woman #1 - LOLOL.  Love it.  And the art is fun to look at too.  Especially that last panel with Spider-Woman's face.

Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #1 - Oh yeah!  The Bounty Hunters rock and I can't wait to see what Boba Fett's gonna do in this series!

------------------------------------------------------

Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #2 - This is a fun mini.  I assume it's a mini.  Lots of Bounty Hunters in this.  All looking for the same bounty with whom they all have a history.  Story moves along nicely here.  Thumbs up!

Immortal Hulk #33 - OH YEAH!!  This was AWESOME!!!  There was a part where I was thinking it was too weird but then BAM BAM BAM!  Ewing does it again.  I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ISSUE!!

Jessica Jones: Blindspot #2 - I guess I'm not getting to read this after all.  This is what I get when I click on the link:
"404: ISSUE STOLEN BY HYDRA
This issue could not be found. It seems to have been stolen by HYDRA forces. If you’d like to report this error to S.H.I.E.L.D, please email onlinesupport@marvel.com."

The Amazing Spider-Man #42 - Okaaaaay.  Not a fan of Gog.  I get the story and I guess it's ok but just wasn't for me.  And it continues to next issue...

Yeah man! This is where I decided I had to play catch up.

Agree. Stopped even flipping through this at the shop during this time and still haven't gone back to look at what's happened since. Just killed me mood for the title oddly enough.

Oh as for Spider-Woman, I thought it was an okay issue but I didn't like the new costume. How about you?

I don’t hate it but I prefer the classic costume.  Hopefully it’s only temporary.
