i was...section 301 row DD with my daughter.  Fun game.

I was in the section right where Polak hit the boards and went down.  I'm glad he's going to be OK, but it was pretty scary watching them carry him off on the stretcher in the neck brace and he wasn't moving.

Always a big game when the Bruin's are in town!

that was def scary...hate seeing anything like that and I'm glad he's ok.  Any word on the guy who got the puck to the face in the 1st?

That looked alot like what happened to Chara in GM4 and broke his jaw

Flyers won in Prague! Goaltending may be a strength for them this year!

In other news, pigs suddenly started flying

Ironically the puck to the face isn’t what’s keeping him out.  He fell awkwardly when it happened and suffered a strain to his lower body.  Sounds like his face is ok.   :)

I am stunned and shocked that the Stars head coach was fired today.  Totally blown away.  It must be really bad with all of the tight lips about it.

Right?! I was gonna ask you Jeff if you had some inside gossip from your Dallas viewing area. That was a swift axe!

No idea - they are very tight lipped.  I'm actually leaving right now to go to the game.  Maybe somebody there will spill the beans!

Game On

really enjoying the playoffs...missed it so much.

The buble seems to be working for them.

I agree!  It's been so good to watch Hockey, even if I can't be there in person.

But I will say, even though the Stars are finally leading, they may just give me another heart attack!

The Bs made it to the next round. lets hope the Stars can close it out tonight.

Our top goalie (Rask) left the bubble to be home with wife and new born and his back it pretty good but really untested in the playoff,  so far two good games and 1 really bad that the offense bailed him out of.

Whats bishops story....is he still "unfit to play"?

Did you see the Stars game last night?  WTF?  That was the craziest game I have ever seen.  Losing 1-3 at end of the first and wind up winning 7-3 by the end of the game.  Absolutely insane!

Looks like both of our teams are in for the next round!

I'm not sure what is up with Bishop but he was out that game too.  Thank God Dobby was up to the challenge!

love me some Anton.

The Bs had a game like that too...down 2-0 with just over 10 left in the game and they go on to score 4 goals in 7mins.  just crazy

And THATs why I absolutely love this sport....the hitting too

I know of no-one on any hockey team any longer as I stopped watching ages ago, but recently started watching my Islanders a few weeks back (was a fan a long time ago) and recently found my enjoyment of the game returning.

Probably going to get whipped by the Flyers, but I will be checking in to the games that I remember ... if the wife doesn't want to watch anything.
 :D

Maybe get back into going to the local ECHL games again next season? Maybe? Who knows.

It has been fun watching again though.

Perry's team vs Jimmy's

IT IS ON!!!

These Flyers...do not look good vs Islanders.

Ugh. OT win; 'a win's a win' but that .....gotta win a series.

Title: Re: NHL 2019/2020
Post by: Perry on August 31, 2020, 12:45:36 PM
Whew!!
Been lovin' this series.

No idea why I left the game but I get so pumped up watching this.

And the stuff they do ... knocking pucks out of the air, that are going wide of the net, back into the net? And the way they use their damn skates ... just awesome stuff.

I do hate to say this, as a person that couldn't stand the old comet trail puck they tried a few years back, but I do wish they could have fans opt in to a "glow" puck or something along the lines so I can see the damn thing better. My eyes are so much worse now
 :D
And still, not a big deal at all, just look for the players celebrating is how I instantly know a goal is scored.
 ;D

One more game to go ... come on Islanders, knock Philly out!

Valiant effort by your Bruins tonight Wringer.  Sorry it didn’t turn out their way.

Post by: Wringer on September 02, 2020, 12:51:05 AM
Yup their season is done, a really good season (only team above 100pt prior to shutdown) cut short by lack of production and protection for the backup goalie (Top goalie Rask left the bubble early in the 1st round).  I was hopeful but just glad to be watching the playoffs

I guess all that's left to say is...GO STARS

The old adage is

"Well, at least they made it a series. Took it to a Game 7."

No faith in these Flyers. That's my Philly showing. ;)

Stars barely scraped out of the second round with tonight’s OT win.  I’m rooting for Vancouver in this next game because I really don’t want to face Vegas in the Conference final!

Ha, well, no way Inslanders win against a team whose (so far) only wins against them in the series has been in OT and the last a double. Three wins. three OT games? That is just too much a Cinderella type story. The way I see it, Flyers move on after winning game 7, yes, in OT.
 :D

I'm just glad I was so tired the other night I only saw the first 2 periods. I would have been mad had I forced myself to stay awake only to have us lose in 2OT.
 ;D

EDIT - Speaking of which, and I know they don't do it in the playoffs, but doesn't hockey give one point for an OT loss? It has been awhile, but I kinda remember that being a thing. And if so, points wise, and if they would take those in the playoffs, it would be -

Islanders - 9 points
Flyers - 6 points ... yeah?
 ;)

Oh how I SUCK!!!

I forgot all about the game last night!!! Damn it.

Just nervously (well, some what nervously ... I am just getting back into this so not like I am a life long fan ;D) checked the score from yesterday's game and happen to see the Islanders are set to play Tampa Bay, before I even saw that they had won.
So ... yay!!! Although I feel so stupid that I forgot about it
 :-\

Off to watch the highlights now!!
(Sorry Jimbo)

Edit - No, going to watch the entire game seven as they have the full game available! Sweet!

that was a great game.  Stars started off real hot but then vagas came on real strong for nearly two periods before the stars shook off the cobwebs and simply just took them apart.

That was fun to watch

Right? Couldn't stay up for the whole thing, hahaha, no way, but checked the Tubes this morning, watched the 9 minute recap (before seeing any scores) as I like to do and BAM double OT win. My heart is in a wreck right now
 :D

But probably just prolonging the agony?
 :D

But hey, two more and its a Stars/Islanders Championship Stanley Cup match!!!
 ;D

Gonna be tough.  Tampa Bay is the favorite.  Stars will have to play the best games of their lives in this series.

Go Stars!

Game 3.

None of those penalties helped at all.

Games 4 & 5 are back to back. Dallas NEEDS to take game 4.

Well it was fun while it lasted.  Stars did a pretty good job just too little too late and they really seemed afraid of TB, holding back/peeling away instead of being as aggressive as TB.

With he late playoffs...does anyone know when they plan to start the next season?

We just flat ran out of gas.  But making it to game 6 of the Stanley Cup is nothing to be ashamed of.  Hopefully next year is our year.

I haven’t heard anything on the new season start yet.  It’s normally the beginning of October so maybe we’ll skip preseason and start on time?
