Hey Perry - did you get around to finishing this?  It's still in my wish list but I haven't pulled the trigger yet on purchasing it.

No, is it finished now? Hahaha, I have no idea.
I do know that I wasn't blown away by it, well, by the first couple issues I read I mean. Wasn't horrible, but just seemed like a copy of Waid's Empire (...? I think that was the writer and the series I am thinking of ...? Yeah?). Not like it really in tone at all, or in main character, but something reminded me of it for some reason, other than the "big bad guy ruler thing" of course.
 ;D

Think I am going to start doing this the "Jimmy Way"  ;)
Instead of posting what I "want" to try and read and then get discouraged I couldn't/didn't get them all read, I am just going to post what I read. The list will always be complete that way.  :D
 :)

Suicide Squad #9 (tie-in to JLvSS) ... yuk

Prowler #4

Motor Girl #3
Red Sonja #1  ;D
Curse Words - Just goes to show, one's mans treasure is another's ... well, no ... just not for me.
Gereration Zero #5  My last issue. Just sticking to the main four Valiant titles I think. Well, the four main titles for me anyway  ;) Harbinger/X-O/Bloodshot/Ninjak. And of course I will still read all the great Valiant mini's, but I think I am done with the rest of the universe for awhile. Even ones like Gen Zero which has very close ties to the Harbinger group, but just isn't them. I will return one day to A&A, Eternal Warrior and the like one day ... especially as they have a cool mini-event coming soon anyway  ;) ... but I think these four titles are the ones I enjoy, constantly the most (even taking Ninjak's less than stellar recent output into consideration)
 >:(
Damn, just remember I have to read that Rai title and get caught up on it ... and his 4001 AD mini event.

I'm going to have to check out a Wiki somewhere to see what the publishing line of Valiant is. I know titles and volumes end and restart after big events (Book of Death, 4001, etc), but I'm behind and not sure what volumes become what! Can't wait to read Imperium v3!! And I have like, 4 volumes of Unity to buy yet as well!! And then...well, to behonest, I quit getting the monthlies as Book of Death stuff ended, so I have NO IDEA where things have gone! A good problem, to be honest!!

The other thing I wonder....do I NOW go digital with all Valiant titles? I mean, will the company get enough money? I mean, the tpbs are really cheap as well, but mostly, I just want to make sure that I am supporting Valiant and that they keep on going and going.

*****

As for what I've read, it's been all M-U since I got caught up with my DC stuff....2 weeks back.

(but I'm still 9 months behind Marvel publishing time! I'm in June of last year yet!!)

Amazing Spider-man 12 -I don't hate this stuff. I don't think it's great, and it feels very not 'my kind of Spider-man' but it's okay

Black Panther 2- much better than the first issue. Obviously, I should quit thinking or comparing it to Priest's Panther, as that is in the far past of all now.

All-New X-men 9-  another part of the Apocalypse Wars. Pretty dece!!

All-New All-Different Avengers- the new Wasp shows up. What the hell kind of adults is Waid writing here?? This is fairly ridiculous month in and month out

Civil War II #0-I read it. I see the set up. I think I may let these build up. There actually are other Marvel books that I know I can enjoy reading

Uncanny Avengers 9- Okay the return of **** *** is just weird here. Glad to see it, as it's just a really weird wrinkle to the universe and title, so I guess I'm glad to see it that way!

Squadron Supreme 7-my comments from issue 6 hold sway here as well

Astonishing Ant-Man 8- damned hilarious and awesome issue with 4 D list villains sitting around the table talking the new guy up! Loved it!!

Spider-man 4-Holy crap, was I angry at Miles best friend for what he did here. Holy shit would I be pissed. what a f'ing moron. Way to make me feel someone Bendis! Nice writing! Honest! :)

Internationl Iron Man 3-okay, slow rolling still. I mean, slooooow rollinggggggg

All-New Wolverine 9- Making Laura feel family and outward love for others has really locked me in solid the last 2 issues. Like, hard core locked me in.

Spider-woman 8- glad the crossover stuff is over. A nice, essential one-shot that made this new parent all squeamy and teary eyed thinking of my own little one

Old Man Logan 7- there's a part of me that thinks Marvel decided to keep the old man around because he can be Logan...but not our Wolverine. This bastard can kill, go off the reservation, and f*** anyone up that he wants to because he is 'new' to this world and not beholden to what the original did. It's a way to make a character feel the same, but change him completely. It's like they Ultimate-ized Wolverine within the same universe!!

Spider-man 2099 11 -god, I love PAD's little dialogue and banter between characters. This way, I love! Bendis stuff, just grates. Must be a preference thing. Now, if only this white track suit of his would get lost somewhere along the way
Captain America: Steve Rogers 1- okay, this deserves it's own thread

Good lord, that is hard to read up there. Sorry guys, I think I'll edit some spaces in there.

What else I've read:

Totally Awesome Hulk 6- Just fine of an issue. A little of cross-pollination with another new character for world buidling, and some good moments of Cho and his sister. Fine reading

Mighty Thor 7-  A tale from back in the day, which just oozes with set up for 5 other storytelling aspects I looked at. Keep it up Aaron! I'm loving it!!

Dr. Strange 8 - seems a little bit...blah here. Rising, coursing action took a meandering kind of 'meh' along the way to find out some stuff in the house. Jason Aaron, what up dude? Keep it rolling!!

Invincible Iron Man 10- good lord there was so much talking without a single damned thing happening. So far, I have no opinion on our new 'Iron Girl/Woman/Lady'

Civil War: Gods of War- only reading it for the Hercules continuing saga! I've got mad feels for the man!!

ANAD Avengers 10 -out in space now, but the storytelling still seems stupid. Tony reads like the worst Mr. Rogers' you could ever meet. You thought Batman was bad putting Robin in harms way? Ol'Shellhead just took 3 teens into deep space after lying to their parents. WTF.

ANX-men 10 - actually, kind of really cool watching this trip to ancient Egypt with Ethan and future possibilities.

Daredevil 8- fun with gambling, but beyond that...sloooow set up

Darth Vader 21 - still continues to be very, very good reading

International Iron Man 4 - sigh...still following the horrible storyline of Tony finding birth parents...because making him adopted was the best thing they could write for this guy after all these years of looking identical to his dad. Not a cut on Bendis at all, it's just an avenue of this character's history that I hate above all others. Speaking of crap they cut and ditch; what happened to all that Superior Iron Man evil in SanFran? Or the actual quadripalegic Stark brother from that time? Never mind, mind-wipe from Secret Wars. Ugh <ok, so I ranted><<but at least it wasn't directed at Bendis!>>

Uncanny X-men 8 -something happened, but I don't remember what. TV was on, Junior was around, Psylocke and M fought a bunch of pages. Or something like that.

Star Wars 21- a brilliantly illustrated issue by Mike Meyhew. Just gorgeous. Wow. Well worth the price of admission alone.

Astonishing Ant-Man- felt like a bit of a slow let down here. At least, the first half of the issue. But Lang's plan for the rescue seems, well, astonishingly stupid for what he wants to accomplish.

Amazing Spider-man 13 - OH GAWD IMA GONA RANTZ
WHAT THE HELL SLOTT?!! SERIOUSLY?! To move your plot along, you had the 'misunderstood hero fight' occur because Peter got pissy? At batting cages? That both the heroes wrecked, while making civilians flee? BECAUSE THEY WERE IN DANGER?!! WHAT IN THE F***ING HELL?!!! This is a hatchet job butchery of writing! This is also the same issue, where Peter Parker, CEO of Parker Industries just bailed on all his employees because he didn't want to do his job!! DUDE responsibility!! Their careers and livelihoods depend on you!! You gotta read and sign shit!! You gotta okay stuff to move forward!! What are they supposed to do, facebook 7 more hours until you come back? GAH I'm so pissed reading what I read!!!

Amazing Spider-man 14 - Regent fight. I'm kind of on Team Regent after last issue.

Oh my, so much to comment on ... where oh where shall I begin?
 ;D

Amazing Spider-Man - Just, yeah, exactly. nothing more needs to be said. I can't wait for you to get to "Clone Conspiracy"
(Even though I am enjoying ... some of it, your head may just explode)
 ;D

Iron-Man (all) - Hey man, stop torturing yourself.  :) It's perfectly fine to not like a writer's stuff (*See Guggenhiem) as sometimes it just doesn't work for you. Bail out, pull the rip cord and float away, brotha  ;)

Star Wars stuff - Just good. I mean, just good.  ;D

Ant-Man - Yes, the last couple issues that ended the series did lose steam rapidly the further we went.  :(

Avengers - Another title I think you should just step away from. I surely wish I would have. It gets a little better around issue 11 or 12, but then, when it restarts, that Del Mundo art, which I loved on Weird World, just muddles the look. DelMundo just should not be on a "caped hero" title. The bleed is worse than Acuna. Way worse. And that is fine in books where that style fits. Avengers is not one of those books. The editor Tom Breevort really dropped the ball on this one.

Daredevil - Damn, I have not read this title since issue 3 or 4. Need to catch up

Civil War - No. Just no. And you are right about Tony in the first part of this event, but just wait. Carol just misses the mark so badly that Bendis should be ashamed of how he has screwed her for years to come. No-one I know wants to read anything about her now.  :-\

TAHulk - I like this more than I thought I would, other than the last two issues before this past one (sorry can't remember the numbers ... 13 and 14?). Plus Chang-Chi coming on for a few issues (along with others that I don't really care about) makes this a must read for me now.

X-Men - As much as I have enjoyed the last Old Man Logan arc and have felt some other titles are at least trying, I am just waiting for the relaunch now. While I am skipping X-Men Gold (* ...  ;)) I am looking forward to Blue and Weapon X starting while I continue to at least mostly enjoy OMLogan and Wolverine.

Black Panther - Glad you are enjoying that. Are you going to try the second title and/or the third Panther title when they hit? Of course that third title is really a relaunch of The Crew (with a major aspect missing)  ;D

Thor - Just continues its long run of greatness.

On Iron Man(s)

-I think it comes down to what the teacher wife calls it at school. FOMO. Fear of Missing Out. Even if you aren't involved with an incident, you don't want to be the first to leave. Can you imagine not being around when Billy pushed Ryan on the playground? Were you there when Jenny said this about Sara? So, for me, its the fear of missing something really good!! And I've liked Iron Man for a long, long time!!! It's more amounting to me not wanting to turn away from it-again!-but I am coming to the realization that maybe I just should. I keep waiting for these stories to get the punch in, and seeing as how it's the purist writer of the made-for-trade, I figure something should nail it for me at issue 6, right?

On ANAD Avengers

-Yeah, I think I was just convinced by you, and the book, that I just need to drop it. I had accidentally put New Avengers back in the lineup (when everything has that damned Civil War II dressing on it, I have no idea on what the book is!), so when I saw that title there, it made me remember why I dropped it. And it also relates entirely to how I feel on ANAD, so yeah, I'm just putting myself out of misery and removing this Avengers book, too.

On Civil War II

-Carol gets the hatchet job yet? Oh, ugh, just...ugh... ya know, I never read Fear Itself past issue 2. House of M I read the first 2, then issue 8. I just may have to do this with CW II.

On Black Panther

-I just hope it does stay interesting and keep my attention.

HAHA, I hear ya. Only damn reason I read CWII and why I am still reading ASM
 ;D
(And will read Caps event that is around the corner as well)
 :-\

I figure something should nail it for me at issue 6, right?, right?

:) Well, I think not. Not if you don't enjoy who is telling you the story. I don't think there is anything that he could do that would please you enough in the long run. And again, that is not a jab at you, it's just the same for me and writers I don't enjoy.

Hell, if Guggenhiem was suddenly on ASM, I would still have to read it, but you can bet your ass I wouldn't be happy about it. And even if he pulled off greatness I would probably find fault in it.
 :D
Just the way it is when you have given writers chance after chance after chance to pull you in and yet you still feel nothing but apathy or ire.
 :D

On Civil War II

-Carol gets the hatchet job yet?

Well, she does stupid stuff, yeah.

As much as you are not a fan of CW, I feel that both sides had at least a little bit of logic and reasoning behind their intentions. Here, with Carol, there is nothing that you could say to make me feel the slightest ping that she was on the correct side of things. She is just wrong. Maybe not in the real world, here, but in the Marvel Universe where ... a lot of things happen ... she is just so wrong it is laughable. Bendis, to his credit, at least shows a little of that as ...
People start to leave her side
... but other than that, Bendis really didn't show us why she was right at all. And maybe that was the intention?

Oh, ugh, just...ugh... ya know, I never read Fear Itself past issue 2. House of M I read the first 2, then issue 8. I just may have to do this with CW II.

Well, sadly, if you want to get what I was talking about or trying to express above, you really need to read the book in its entirety.
 ;) ;D

More comics read! Loaded them up for 'Offline' and took my little tablet to work to read on break

Squadron Supreme 8 -I think...I think that this is my last issue. It may have been the best one since issue 1, but it's not nearly as good as issue 1. I think I've given this more then enough of my time. I simply find nothing worth caring for in here.

Sam Wilson, Captain America 10 -Not bad. I was a bit confused about all the black heroes getting together as a club that I never really knew about. Sam's later speech was almost, just almost, about himself way too much.

Uncanny Avengers 8 - probably the best Avengers book out there. Not sure if that is saying something. Cable steals the show here. Cap is mighty dumb.

Mighty Thor 8 - 'a week in the life of...'  such a cool issue! Loved it.

Dr. Strange 9 - Much better. Muuuuch better. Even if it was only the penultimate chapter to set up the finale! Dammit! More waiting!!

Steve Rogers, Captain America 2 - Well, duh, we knew that's when this all occurred. It's fun to actually see Red Skull's plans actually occurring in a well-planned manner.

Black Panther 3 -a little better again, but not by much over issue 2. This may hit issue 8 for me before I go "wait, I really don't care that much about this!'

Uncanny X-men 9 -how many Angels and Archangels are there? I just got really confused.

Spider-man 5 -hey Perry, I actually do kinda like this book alot, honest!!

Darth Vader 22 -still Vadery goodness

Totally Awesome Hulk 7 -I will never tire of Alan Davis' art. On anything. Ever.

Uncanny Avengers 10- I think I meant to write about 10, but put in in #9 oh well.

Spider-man 2099 12 -just cruising along at just okay is what's happening now

****I will discuss later!!!

*****DISCUSSED ;)

Uncanny Avengers 8 - probably the best Avengers book out there.

So glad I gave this another shot. Really enjoying Cable here and I was never a fan prior. Ya know, being in that 90's revolution kinda made him a character I didn't read about. Looking forward to his new book, though the writer is kinda ... well .. we shall see.

Spider-man 5 -hey Perry, I actually do kinda like this book alot, honest!!

Good to hear.  8) It is about the only Spider-Man book that feels like a Spider-Man book to me. At least of what I am reading.
 ;D

Didn't read much more, but got some more non-big two stuff in

Suicide Squad #9
Prowler #4
Motor Girl #3
Red Sonja #1
Curse Words #1
updated =
Khaal #1 - A very interesting kinda space/barbarian book
Bloodshot U.S.A #4
Mayday #3
Reborn #4
Savage #3

Man do I need to hit me some Marvel and DC. Getting really bad with DC's bi-weekly shipping. It's far too easy to get behind when they double ship
 :D

That's been me, most of the last 3 months!! Hang in there!!!
