Title: Hickman--Pax Romana Post by: BatgirlLibrarian on September 23, 2010, 12:09:16 AM So, I just picked up Pax Romana by Jonathan Hickman. Weird. And one of those that I'll have to read a lot before I fullly get it.
I'm a big fan of Nightly News and his other stuff; how he uses white space makes me happy. Anybody else read him? Title: Re: Hickman--Pax Romana Post by: Tokyo Vigilante #1 on September 24, 2010, 07:20:48 PM Haven't read Pax yet, but Nightly News is beyond amazing.
Transhuman ain't too shabby either. Title: Re: Hickman--Pax Romana Post by: BatgirlLibrarian on September 26, 2010, 11:56:12 PM Nightly News still confuses me; but I really like it. Transhuman cracks me up; I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to, though :)
Have you read Red Mass for Mars? Title: Re: Hickman--Pax Romana Post by: Jeff on September 27, 2010, 01:23:54 AM Do you recommend Pax? I haven't read it but I like Hickmans Fantastic 4 and Secret Warriors.
Title: Re: Hickman--Pax Romana Post by: BatgirlLibrarian on September 28, 2010, 12:34:46 AM I will recommend, but if you don't have at least an interest in history, it's gonna bore you. I'd say that a little knowldge of ancient history is helpful too.
And depending on how religious (Catholic) you are, you'll read it differently. I enjoyed it a lot, but it is a hard one to rec. |
