============================================

Teen Titans (1966-1978)   #19-22 - Finally started getting out of the weirdness.  Probably since Neal Adams and Marv Wolfman wrote these.  Pretty cool that the last splash page of 22 was the reveal of Wondergirls new costume.  The one we famously know from the Wolfma/Perez New Teen Titans of the 80's!

Dreadstar - I read the first 8 chapters.  I know I read this waaaay back in the day but I don't remember anything about this other than I really liked it.  Good chance I didn't get to finish it since there wasn't a tried and true LCS in my town for the longest time.  I'm really enjoying it.  I really liked how the first three issues were in black and white and as the story progresses it gradually starts to be told in color.  Jim Starlin at his most interesting.

Lol.  Yeah I probably don’t talk enough about my current list because I don’t want to spoil.  I’ll have work on that.  Or maybe I’m just having more fun with backlog stuff!

Dreadstar - As it turns out, this is actually a collection of three different TPB's.  I finished the first one today so I am 1/2 way through the whole book.  Amazing cosmic story which brings a group together for an unexpected purpose and then everything changes by the end.  What I love about it is that it reminds me of a time when we used to explore high level philosophical topics and discuss them with awe.  Not at all like to today where everyone is obsessed with "sides" and bicker about low level topics.  I miss those old days - where everyone got along and expanding the mind used to be exciting.

Dreadstar - "The Price" - Wow what a tragic story.  And all just to tell the origin of one character who will play a prominent part in our hero's life in the next trade.  I would call this the story of the fall of a good man but I'm not sure if he will ultimately be on the side of the angels or not.  Amazing story telling and amazing art.  Although the clothing for these future people is very '70's.  Can't wait to finish this.

The Flash 67 - Part 1 of the Trickster's return.    Starting right off with a new mystery - of sorts.  Basically a "set the stage" issue with some very creepy behaviors.  I like the art too.  This really reminded me of the first issues I bought of the Flash back when I was in Jr High many decades ago.

============================================

Ant-Man & The Wasp 5 - Mistakenly had this listed as issue 6 - The arc is finished.  5 issues was too many for this adventure through the "Quantumverse".  This should have been a two part story.  I like the interaction of Scott and Nadia - very much like Hawkeye and Hawkeye.  The execution though was not for me.  I didn't hate this but I won't be picking up anymore issues.

Immortal Hulk 5 - Not the creepy/horror comic it's been but a solid issue.  Interesting turn of events with Sasquatch.  The art in this issue was intense at times.  Really could look into Hulk's eyes and see something real.

Immortal Hulk 6 - Looks like we're back to more traditional stories.  Still really good but it was a lot more fun the first few issues.  I hope we get back to those kind of stories but if not, this is still good.  I am more interested in seeing Bruce/Hulk reconnect with his supporting cast and I assume it will happen eventually.  I'm really not in the mood for Hulk vs Other Heroes and it looks like that's what we'll get next issue.

Thor 5 - OMG - This was a great issue!  I love the end of time Thor stories and this one has so much to geek out about.  The grand daughters of thunder are a lot of fun to see.  This issue also has multiple surprise appearances.
Ego - I can't wait to see where this is leading.  Of course he can't beat a worm on his surface.  Makes nothing but sense!
Wolverine as Phoenix - at first I rolled my eyes but a beserker Phoenix?  Fun.  The fight between All Father Thor and Phoenix Wolverine was painted well.  The art really looked good for the battle.
Fin Fang Foom?!?!?  How completely awesome was seeing him?  Only to lead up to the final reveal....
Doctor Doom Sorcerer Supreme?  Great cliff hanger.
Yeah, I'm so on board for what we're about to see starting next issue!!

Quicksilver No Surrender 5 - The end of this mini series.  Five issues was too much for this story.  Those middle three issues could have compressed into a single issue.  Overall I thought this was ok.  Not a must read but not bad at all.  I like watching Quicksilver evolve and this explored the rage side of his character.  Plus - you gotta love turtles!

Die!Die!Die! 8 - End of the first arc.  I just realized Kirklands co-creator on this is Scott Gimple, the show runner for the Walking  Dead and Fear the Walking Dead TV shows.  Just interesting.  The comic itself ended ok.  I’m not sure this warrants a long term series but looks like we are getting at least a second arc.

Dreadstar - Finished!  This was really good.  There is another 12 issue story after this that I will need to get to finish out the larger story.  I’m looking forward to it and may get it and rearrange my backlog reading.  Jim Starlin needs to create some more independent tales like this.  Sooo fun!

East of West 41 - It's so hard to keep up with this since each issue comes out sporadically.  Waiting to read this in when it's all done is probably the best way to go.  As is, I still like the series as it is coming to a close.  Good progression to the story with this one as the players all come closer to the end.

Black Hammer Age of Doom 8 - Ah - another great issue.  And it figures that you know who is going to have the answers.  Looking forward to issue 9.

Wicked+Divine 42 - And yet another series on the road to it's last issue.  Just like East of West, the players are all being brought together for the ending battle.  Also looking forward to seeing this wrap up.  Honestly, it lasted a little too long.  It had a good place to wrap up several issues ago and they should have done that then.  This last arc is a little bit "already been there done that" but at least it will be interesting.

Avengers 7 - A nice side trip down the origin of the pre-historic Ghost Rider.  I like how Aaron is expanding the characters we know through time.  Good issue and good story.

Avengers 8 - Back to present time - OH MY HOLY COW WHAT IS THIS REALLY GOOD ART I SEE?!?!?!?  Wow - what a huge difference an artist can make.  I really enjoyed everything about this issue.  I like the team, I like the tour of the new HQ, the solidifying of the new Avenger "normal".  And I really think if we had McGuiness' art I would have felt different.  Don't get me wrong - I like McGuiness' art; just not on Avengers.  I really like David Marquez's art here.  My only complaint - what the heck is Namor wearing?  The costume is horrendous - but drawn really great!

Having that artist change on Avengers IS incredible. It is like a totally new read for sure. Sadly, the art goes back too soon ... and I agree and said the same ... I like McGuinness, but just not here. Luckily again, as I just discovered, it switches back to David soon afterwards again, for the .... next few.

Went to bed pretty early yesterday so was able to knock out some more before Marvel the Sandman crept in and knocked me out.

- Mark Waid is killing it here and this art is so damn clean. Great book!!!
Immortal Hulk #16 - Wow, so much happening here! And the horror feel is back baby!!!
Savage Sword of Conan #2
Savage Sword of Conan #3
- Okay, I was wrong. Both Conan books are really kicking it up a notch. Still mad that Conan is in the current Avengers 10 issue mini, so I have yet to go back to that, but maybe I will be wrong about that too? I hope? And then of course we have that upcoming "Savage" Avengers title happening soon ... Oh SCREW IT! BRING ON THE CONAN!!!

Detective Comics 1000 - This took awhile to read but was soooo good.  Almost all  of my favorite writers contributed to this.  Snyder, Priest, Paul Dini,  Tynion IV, Tom King, Geoff Johns, Kevin Smith, and many more.  Not mention great art.  One of my favorite stories in this was old man Penguin confronting old man Bruce Wayne.  That was fun.  Thumbs up so much that I'm probably going to add this back to my pull list....if Heroes in Crisis doesn't make me drop all DC.

West Coast Avengers 2 - This is really just the continuation of Hawkeye which I love.  So I'm digging this.  They basically turned Team Hawkeye into the West Coast Avengers.  Just a fun comic in all it's ridiculousness.

Infinity Wars 3 - I like the comparison of Gamora/Loki to Thanos/Mephisto.  That was interesting.  This issue, however, was just a big setup for the money grab spin-offs.  I'll probably like them but, yeah, they are what they are.
