Went to the closer LCS today and got the last three issues of Back Issue (99 - Batman Animated Spotlight, 100 - Fanzines through the years and 101 - Rock and Roll in Comics). Not really anything I sit and read all the way through, but a great "library" book to leave on the back of the toilet or in the bathroom magazine rack for those extended stays.
Didn't even think about it being Black Friday so I got a 25% off as well, which is cool, but not really what I wanted when I only go here to support the shop occasionally.
Anywho, what I have busted through this week so far -
Astonishing X-Men #5 - Worst issue yet, though not bad and certainly better than the other team books.
Silver Sable and the Wild Pack #36 - This artist... ! Love the look of this one-shot and hope to see more.
Thanos #13 - Thanos is in good hands, guys. Donny Cates is gonna rock this title!!
EDIT - Motor Girl #10 - Sadly a very hastily put together issue. You can tell this was originally not going to be the last issue for the series, but sales dictated Moore kill the title before its time. His usually spot on art was sketchy and lacked his normal trademark crisp style and the book was filled with half page splashes (though I got the point why and the last one was funny and appropriate
). Story was compacted and felt so rushed, lacking flow and ... just a let down. Although I am very happy he gave us an ending, I only wish he had the time to do it properly. Still better than just leaving us hanging though.
Want to get through all of the Batman Metal One-Shots, as well as re-read Metal, including Forge and Casting, but keep getting further behind on that.
Also want to start Ninjak's new series, catch up on X-O and read the first 3 of Bloodshots new series as well, not to mention Doomsday Clock and others.
Crossing fingers.
