So! So much to speak on! Maybe just some quick hits here, and then I'll find some threads.
Mighty Thor continues to be my most favorite book from Marvel. It's the only thing I'm keeping up in trades. Love Aaron's Thor work. Just love it.
Vision is probably my second favorite-simply due to less of it being around. But from what I hear and look sideways at in message boards, yes, Perry, I may too buy this in hardcover when it's done and released.
All-New Wolverine is suprisingly...okay. Not brilliant, not offensive or poor. I wouldn't buy it in stores or trades, but I will definitely read it online and not skip it. So, I enjoy following it here in my subscription.
Ultimates is so cool. I want to burn through all the issues!!!
Pace yourself Jim. Savor all the different flavors out there.
Squadron Supreme is...a different animal in this MU. Like, it's not really part of this world that's been built out of Secret Wars (I know, so long ago now!) But I'm enjoying reading it!!
Old Man Logan really surprised me. I never read the original tale (which I believe I'm going to rectify now). Another time traveler lost/stranded in our time was not something I thought 'yeah, can't wait to get behind that again!' but the ending of issue 1 really sold me for a while.
All-New All Different Avengers is poor. This team feels like it's cobbled together out of editorial/sales/marketing mandate. Didn't half of the current old Avengers start wars about not letting the Young Avengers operate? And these 3 kids, well, 2 for sure, look waaaaay younger than any Young Avenger did. Tony stating "I think we really got something here as a team" made me snort everything out of my head. What a hack-kneed line of bullcrap. Reading it is not paying off right now either. Does not feel like an Avengers or plausible team title. Feels like one of those 4 page stories about brushing your teeth that gets stuck in comics every now and then.
Guardians of Infinity lacks magic. I don't feel for the team-but I want to!! Particularly for the 3000 team, since I was reading that before it got cancelled. Nothing special here, but it's okay to read. Unless its that Ben Grimm/Groot back up. That was damned rough.
Uncanny Avengers....This is not a Steve Rogers I've ever read. This is Nick Fury. Why is Deadpool on this team? What IS this team? Deadpool? Really? Rogers going out on a limb to make sure he's around? What is this, a90s redub of Deadpool to make him the cool-anti-hero? Just nothing special, and....I may let it go. Glad to see the last issue had an INKED Carlos Pacheco on art, but that may be it. I think I'm just happy to be reading comics, honestly!!
Captain Marvel hasn't hooked me yet. Art is not special or inviting, or captivating, or gives me pause. Story is okay, but I was a huge fan of Reed's take on the character before Secret Invasion, so I have a litmus test for comparision.
Uncanny X-men by Bunn and Land is about readable. Well, okay, better than that.
Explain to me how this team came together at all??? That's what I don't get. But, as far as an "X-manny"-type book out there, this is really close to it.
Iron Man by Bendis still bugs the shit out of me. As soon as I read the companion book and get super-pissed,
, I may be done reading it for a while.
