So I was at one of the LCS's yesterday and a guy told me about a post .... from BC(? ... maybe?) (or a podcast ... I can't really remember now) involving a Reddit post about the Flash and all the lightning around the characters. I never knew about this lightning color thing, though I am sure others have, but I thought it was a cool aspect, so I looked it up and here it is, from poster "Steven_is_Awesome" ... copy and paste from Reddit - HERE
(And I did make the link in the article linkable so you can check that out if you wish as well)
 Wink
(Sorry I can't give credit to the person/article/podcast that Brian heard it from originally)
 Embarrassed

---------
I recently tweeted to Brett Booth, the former Flash artist and current Titans artist, asking for some clarification on what the different colors of the speeders' lightning means. This is what he had to say.

"the closer you go to light speed the colors shift. So red is the slowest. Blue and indigo are fastest."
This is called blueshift, which you can read more about here.
He said that future Barry, in the "Out of Time" storyline had blue lightning because: "the blue means he’s tapped further into the Speedforce and is faster than present Barry. Mostly from the suit."
The blueshift effect makes sense because at the beginning of the New 52, Barry had red lightning and now he has yellow. During this time he got faster, causing his lightning to change color.
I also asked if Professor Zoom generates black lightning, or if that is ripples from his suit and he replied saying: "in my mind.. Neither!" I then asked what it means in his mind, with him replying, "can’t say. You never know what the future holds!"
So we may get an explanation in the future of what black lighting means.
Last but not least he explained that white lightning is generated when a speedster is speeding up time, like Barry did in his fight with Eobard. I asked if this means Wally (who's new design has white lightning) has the power to speed up time. He replied saying, "maybe. White in light is all colors combined!"
So his white lightning could maybe be caused because he can move faster than light, causing all the colors to combine.
So this is the explanation for lightning colors, at least in the post-flashpoint continuity.
-------------

So essentially - Speedsters with certain colors of lightning can only go at certain speeds -
Red lightning is the slowest (see Wally .... shit ... see the newest Wally ... shit ... see the newest new Wally  Angry)
then it goes Orange lightning, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo/Purple, Violet
Ya know, the color spectrum. Just never thought about looking at the lightning for speed clues
 Cheesy

The reason why I posted this, is I just finished Titans #5 today and I couldn't help but think of this as I was looking at the images and reading what was being said. I am not giving anything away, especially in a Flash thread and not the Titans thread Cheesy (there really isn't much to say really), but knowing what I know now and seeing this past issue ... it just made it better. Ya know? Of course it also made the issue prior, or the one before that, even more infuriating, for reasons you should understand if you read the issues or my thoughts on them at least.
 Angry

But anyway, I thought this was cool and I never knew!!!!

...and for my rating for the current issue of Titans ... go there.

Flash #12

Ugh. This Speed of Darkness storyline, with the really REALLY fill in artist was mostly garbage and junk. 1990s James Robinson is spinning in his creative 90's grave with how Shade and Hope O'Dare were treated.

Then I remembered-THIS is the guy writing JL vs Suicide Squad? Is there really any hope for that if it matches these two issues?

But then again, I was fine up until this fill in.

I dunno; hot and cold, hot and cold....

I finally just deleted this from my wish list.  Just so many other titles I want to read.

Maybe you will like it, as it is the same guy that writes your Birthright title you enjoy so much, so cross them fingers  Smiley Even though his DC writing seems, to me, so far away from all of his Image stuff. I just have not been impressed with his DC stuff so far. I liked the JLA/SS stuff originally, on a fast read, but when I re-read it ... not so much. BUt....

But for this title I am still hoping the return of the Rogues in Flash #14 will bring it back around.

EDIT - Well I just read the JLA vs SS #4 and that issue was really fun. I still have an issue with ... the Batvace (you will find out), but overall I am enjoying this. It does seem to get better and better so that's something.

Holy crap, you're right. I'm starting to lose track of writers and artists names with so much digital reading and trade buying. I need to wake back up!!

that's rather what I'm holding out for. Otherwise,I was going to join the rest of you and drop the book. Maybe it was just a bad 2 issues, and I'll be fine with the rest as it drops to the newsstand.

I almost "stayed on" like you guys for the Rogues.  Not sure I can call it that since I haven't read this since issue 3.  Cheesy

I'll wait to see what Jimmy says after reading the Rogues arc.

Feels so good to have dropped this!!!

Not even calling the title bad, but I did not enjoy reading it any longer. Sour milk, sour wine, sour something, but it just didn't taste good to me anymore.

Good to know I don't need to catch up on this one.

So Jeff, I know you jumped back on for a few issues recently, but can't remember if you jumped back off ... are you still on this? I just heard that the Turtle is over in Flash now in a year one type Barry story and was wondering how that was going. If you knew

I dropped it when I temporarily boycotted all DC Comics and did not jump back on when my boycott was over.  In fact I only added back Action, Doomsday Clock, Freedom Fighters, and Event Leviathan.
