First Trailer is out.  What do you think?  I'm apprehensive.

I'm not sure I'm 'anything' yet, to be honest. Most X-men movies are just bang up between powered people with a little bit of story to them. Oh, I enjoy them! Hopefully this one just entertains the hell out of me. Smiley

Yeah, looks good, but didn't they all? Haha, that sounded way more down than I really am on this, as I am really looking forward to seeing AND liking this. At least as much as I have all the reboot X movies (the past two).

Heard something on yet another podcast that does make me wonder however ...

"How is it, if Apocalypse is so damn powerful, he got beat down before the X-Men came around? If he was all powerful first mutant, how did he lose before now?"

Did they ever mention that in the comics?

I quite liked it!! Smiley

It wasn't perfect; characterization got a bit skimpy towards the end, and the needless continued super-owered disaster porn went on a bit too long, but I enjoyed all the small moments of the characters I got, and the movie certainly never stopped to dwell too long things.

I was never bored during it, always interested in what was occurring, and highly want to see this X-men team come together again and have more adventures!!

Cool, but this is not the movie I have been waiting for to get your thoughts on. You seen Civil War yet?  Smiley

Finally saw this movie.

It was ... better than "Okay", but I am going to fall short in thinking that it was "Good". No, I enjoyed it, so it that regard it was good, but it wasn't an overly good movie. Haha, I am talking in circles I know. It is no X-Men 3, so hey, winner!!

In a small bit of nit-picking, I hated
Angel's hair cut, especially beside Storm. It made it seem like ole Apocalypse had a hair style fetish "I SHALL LEAD YOU INTO A NEW WORLD, but only if you cut your hair so you have a Mohawk. K? Thanx".
Actually, I hated they way they handled Angel all together, but eh, it wasn't he that made the movie less than what I wanted, though I can't put my finger on what did lessen its impact on me

But again, enjoyable, overall, but just short of good.

I liked the part when the student...

got to see Return of the Jedi and come out saying "The third movie is always the worst."  Especially considering this is the third movie in the reboot.   Cheesy

That is funny, though I think, while filming, it was suppose to be a jab at the original X-Men films and its third, but yeah, funny how that worked out, huh?

Thought I would revisit this since it's out on Blu-Ray now.  Was a bit disappointed with this one.  It guess I thought it was just "okay."  I think there were just a couple of things I couldn't get past:

The fact that this was about TWENTY YEARS later than First Class and everyone looks the same except with Miami Vice haircuts.

Quicksilver broke into the freakin' Pentagon, and three presidents later he is still eating twinkies and playing arcade games in his mother's basement.  (Still liked the obligatory slo-mo-set-to-cutlural-soundtrack sequence though).

Apocalypse is this ancient all-powerful despot who, from what I recall from the movie, spends 30% of his time wielding destruction and 70% accessorizing his henchmen.

I think they did a disservice to the original First Class movie (which is one of the best X-Men films IMO) by killing off some of the best characters off screen for Days of Future Past.

It's clear that Singer only likes the 80's version of the team which is why we're basically right back to where he started with the first X-Men film 17 years ago (that's right - SEVENTEEN YEARS AGO).

And with this one he really missed the mark.  I'm hoping when he finally get's to do his version of Dark Phoenix it redeems this movie.  (Although rumor is he's not directing that one.   Undecided )
