Nemesis Thread

hmm....after reading something intellectual like the 1st issue of SHIELD, next up was Millar & McNiven's Nemesis......night and day I tell you.
But you know what? I liked Nemesis a lot. Basically the bad guy goes around killing the top cops in cities around the world in over the top ways because he can. Now he has his eyes set on Washington DC and their famed chief of police. Oh, and he took the President hostage.
Loads of action and violence brought to you by the same team that brought you Civil War and Old Man Logan. This is gonna be good.....well for me at least.

The part I'm bored with Millar, is that his writing has really become nothing more than fan-fiction, nerd comic-porn in the style of a lame Michael Bay action movie.
Reading this, and Ultimate Avengers, I think Millar really has become a one trick pony of shock and awe, in your face Tarantino gratuitious vulgarity shill.
Not impressed, hardly interested, and didn't care for Nemesis.
I can't wait to see if issue 4 has a character running down a hallway with guns killing everyone.

Noted. And for me, maybe it's this style of storytelling that makes me feel anything anymore in the Superhero genre. Out of the tons of superhero books that I read from the big two, there is hardly anything out there that really pushes the boundaries, or takes the characters to exciting levels.....or maybe I'm just reading the wrong books. I just get that "been there done that" feeling. Nemesis may not be deep reading, but sometimes I just want to read a book with big explosions and heads rolling.

Issue #3.....
I thought some of the stuff that takes place in Garth Ennis' Boys book was pretty demented and sick.....what Nemesis does to a couple of kids in this issue is pretty low for a villain! Mark Millar is definitely letting loose his twisted humor here...
I read that this is being developed into a movie....wonder if they keep the events in this issue intact!!!

Still working my way down my pile to read this.
I have to get through quite a bit, though.
(Still have about 18 issues of AMAZING to read with more coming every freaking week)
