Had the dang thing for less than a year. It was a Dell, bought it brand-new from Best Buy. And ironically enough, I didn't do any less-than-legal downloading on this computer, as I did on the computer before it that lasted years. I guess it was Karma coming to kick me in the butt this time.

The good news is that I automatically upgraded my Windows to version 8, I used the RAM from my old PC and put into the new one giving the beast 10 GB of RAM, and I got a quad-core!

10 RAM is nice. Good to have, for sure.

Can you back-step Windows 8 (back to windows 7)? I want to get my wife a new laptop soon, but I am not going to get a Windows 8 machine if I can't backstep it to run 7. Love 7. It is the best since WindowsXP.
