Did the Fantastic Four come out 50 years ago today?

I know they came out in 1961, but I don't know the day.

According to the cover, it came out in November.

You cold be right Tok.  Comics used to publish a certain month on the covers that was actually a few months in the future to keep them on the rack longer.  So it could have released today with a Nov month on the cover.

I found this:

http://geek-news.mtv.com/2011/08/08/fantastic-four-celebrates-50th-anniversary-returns-in-november/

It states that today is the day just you like you've been hearing but it doesn't look like Marvel is really doing anything to celebrate until November.
