caught it on the web.......looks cool as they kinda incorporated Coipel's design but I have mixed feeling about the rubbery-look to the costume.  They could've done a better job with the armor for sure...giving it a more metallic look.

It's going to be interesting to see how they insert an Asgardian god into the somewhat more realistic context of the recent films and make it believable to the audience at large.

Pic of the DESTROYER
(no, sadly, not my favorite Destroyer - Remo Williams)

 Grin

Found here - http://themovieblog.com/2010/04/first-look-at-the-destroyer-in-thor

Looks good, but I kinda like the bulkier, comic one better.

I have to say that the costumes suck.....Thor readers, are these good representations of the costumes?  Maybe if they wear their helmets....but as of now it looks like bad cosplay.

man, the more pictures I see, the more campier/cheesier it looks.....

just my gut feeling at the moment.

I'm with you G.  I'm not getting the warm fuzzies with this movie.

I am not liking what I see, but I remain hopeful. Pathetic as that may be. I am NOT a fan of these costumes, nor the 'gold" eye patch for Odin, nor the angles of this presumably scenic Asgard(?), nor Thors hammer, nor the apparent Skittles like capes (what is Loki suppose to be lemon-Lime or sour apple flavor?), nor the overall 'cleanness' of the shots I have seen.

But I do like the Kirby'esque style of Odin's garb (though I do not like the garb itself).

Bottom line ... yes, I am scared.

EDIT ...
Not as scared as I now am about the GL movie though ...  Shocked Shocked

The GL one doesn't bother me so much....

And how is that? It looks like nothing but muscles fibers. Sorry (and I hate to sound like I am protecting Thor's ... because I am not) but the GL one is horrible and totally ridiculous. And his mask? What, is he Paralax?

I could live with sinewy look....after all Lantern technology is alien isn't it?  I don't expect the whole galaxy to have access to spandex.  Grin

Just my early opinion, it could change once I see more GL shots.

Based on seeing more Thor costumes, the more disheartened I get.  The costumes look rubber and plasticky.

Yep, scaring the hell outta me. Like I said, they also look too damn clean. This is suppose to be the GODS OF THE VIKINGS, would they praise these clean freaks?

And what is the deal with having white walls in Asgard? Or Loki in that ... that crap.
