I love Pulp stuff. Always have. From Doc Savage to The Spider, The Shadow to Kull and yes, Green Hornet. Much like Superman taking a lot of 'cues' from Doc Savage's exploits, the Green Hornet also had it's share of more popular, serialized followers.

To me, Pulp is what cheezy was before cheezy came about. New cheezy is just bad, older cheezy is just laughable but super old cheezy is just great Pulp fun. Pick up a Doc Savage book and think about being in New York in the 1930's. Just awesome. (Remember that movie SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW? Hell's yeah. Great Pulpy fun.)

Needless to say, when I heard Kevin Smith and Dynamite were teaming up to bring me some Hornet, I was giddy with anticipation.

Just read it.

Still trying to forget it.

I am already dreading the 'pre-ordered' issue #2 that I have coming my way. I did get a chance to cancel my order for issue #3, however.

I am reserving hope that one of the countless other GREEN HORNET titles that Dynamite has coming out over the next few months will shine better than this piece of crap. I also hope that someone reads them and lets me know if they are good, because I am not taking another chance and buying them first.

Good-bye Hornet and Kato. I was so looking forward to reading you.

Has Kevin Smith wrote anything good in the past few years?  Has he lost his edge?

Can't think of anything off hand that I enjoyed, come to think about it. But to be honest, this was the first thing I have read of his since ... hell ... Daredevil? That can't be right. Damn, I think it is.

I liked Zack and Miri Make a Porno.  Not his strongest writing wise, but funny enough.  One of his best from just a directing standpoint.

Sorry to hear about his G.H.  I may still try it in tpb.

Looking forward to what you think about the other G.H. books.

i like green hornet. so when i heard they was coming out with a series, i was really excited. i went to my local comic book store. and i saw green hornet (year one) and the regular series issue green hornet. i picked up the first two of the regular series. having the female character in there as his side kick, got my attention. looking forward to reading them. i'll let you know what i think later on today. but does anyone know if this will be an ongoing series? or a mini? thanks.

part two was asome, really enjoyed the story so far. (spoiler warning) cool to see green hornet's son has no clue the kind of job his dad use to do. from what i've read so far i think his son is gonna end up being the new green hornet. thats my gut feeling anyways reading what i've read so far. a little slow in the begining but i really didn't mind it cause it goes into detail with their  relationship.

I skimmed the first and second issues last time I was in the local comic shop and cringed. Of course, I was already kind of biased against it from the start because...seriously, Girl!Kato? Really, Kevin? Really? Ugh. But ultimately, I think it's the fact the first issue ended on an ass shot that really turned me off the title. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I don't think Green Hornet, in any way, shape or form, should ever be crass.

I have yet to pick up Green Hornet: Year One, though. I have high hopes for that one; and, of course, for the movie.

Hey did you guys stick with the Green Hornet?  Did it or the other GH titles get any better?

I *think* Phil Hester is going to be writing the book once Smith's run is up.  I'll be giving it a shot then and maybe a trade of Smith's run.

Well jumped back on for the new arc and issue 11.

A lot of fun!  Really liking the art and characters.  This issue really has me wanting the trades.

Did anyone stick with Smith's Green Hornet?

I have to admit - the covers and the new movie trailer have me interested in this series.

Really that good?
