Ok, so did anyone else see it? I have never read the comic, so I went in with a pretty fresh perspective. I liked it, for the most part. The best part of the movie was Hit Girl, without any doubt. I only wish that there was more of her and Big Daddy in the movie. Finally, a Nicholas Cage role that I actually enjoyed. Kick-Ass himself doesn't actually kick much ass until the very end of the movie, and then only with Hit Girl's assistance. I'll probably even pick this up on video when it comes out, just to re-live the Hit Girl experience. The rest of the movie was just pretty good, not amazing, but I had fun. Really that's all I ask for from a movie is to be entertained, and Kick-Ass didn't disappoint.

Didn't see it yet, but it pretty much sounds like the comic. A better word for the majority of the series should have been Ass-Kicked. It really wasn't until he met with Hit Girl & Big Daddy that the action really turned up to 10.

It was a good time with friends. Had fun watching it, but the middel of the movie really dragged, and once the initial display of whup-ass, the Kick Ass character was a boring cypher that the rest of the cast revolved around. Rather uninteresting, actually.
But Hit Girl and Big Daddy drive the movie.
I only read the first 3 issues, as it became readily apparent to me that Millar was just writing a comic porn/fan fiction because, well, he could. And watching the full spectacle in the film, well, it's neither brilliant, nor insulting, just pedestrian, to be honest.
Based on this (and my Kick Ass reading), Ultimates Avengers, and the first issue of Nemesis, I kinda feel like the Millar pony has run out of tricks, to be honest.

It's funny you say that, because the same joke is made in the movie. I really enjoyed this flick. Probably my favorite of the year so far, even though I haven't seen that many movies. Obviously, Hit Girl was the best, there's pretty much no way to think otherwise. I really enjoyed Christopher Mintz-Plasse (sic) as Red Mist. He had some of the funniest lines in my opinion. Great soundtrack, too.

loads different from the comic book in many areas.....
the film has a quasi feel good ending....whereas the comic book does not.....
i still enjoyed it though.

I love Hit Girl and Big Daddy. Now I have to go out and get the trade. This was my intro to Kick Ass. I'm hooked.

Just had my new HD TV installed today and still had this blu ray at the house so I rewatched it. Even better in full on HD.
Man, I really love Hit Girl and Big Daddy!
