You know, I kinda hoped others would share the best quote out of one of their comics for this week...

My weekly will not arrive until Friday and then I won't get a chance to read them until .... until ... later. But sure, I will jump in when I can.

Only read Invincible #50 and Trinity #2, but nothing stood out to me as distinctly quotable yet.....stay tuned!

Dude!
I just got my comics today, and all I got was Invincible #50, Goon, and The Umbrella Academy tpb.
I decided to swing by the site and saw this thread, and I laughed to myself after reading the title thinking, "oh yeah I bet I got one to beat what ever it is that he put down!" Only to click the link and see you already got it.
Man I love The Goon.

"Do you have any idea how weird it is to find out you're a god?..No, wait, to find out that your FATHER is a god? In fact, that he's the god you've been worshipping all your life? But that he's not all-knowing and all-seeing and wise and wonderful...instead, he's pretty much a jerk?---Hercules, The Incredible Hercules 116.

"You wanna floppy-neck him to death or borrow my gun?"--"The Goon" #28. Damn that Mr. Powell for making me laugh at things I shouldn't laugh about.
Worst line of the week: "Yeah, well my god has a hammer"-Nick Fury, in "Secret Invasion" #6

I guess it's one of those "you had to be there" type things for me to appreciate, because I actually thought the Secret Invasion quote wasn't that bad. Just reading these quotes to myself, Nick Fury's remark sounds a whole lot cooler, as I caught the Thor reference. While the Goonquote sounds snappy and witty.....I don't have the context or background to get the full effect of the delivery. Nick Fury's line however, I don't need any setup. But who am I to say? After all, this thread is for quotes that strike the fancy of the individual reader!

Yeah, put me in the "liked it" camp for the hammer line. Although, I'd have to say the worst line of the week does come from Secret Invasion #6:
"Aye!" Ares, Secret Invasion #6.
What's the point of having a character say something, if all he's really saying is "yeah!"?

For me, from Marvel Apes 2.....the drunk Watcher-Ape... "Because what would you do if YOU had to watch everything all the time? Do you think everything is interesting all the time or inspiring? Or even a little encouraging? So sometimes when I'm watching everything all the time, I tie one on. Because you have to. You have to. No, listen, you have have to.

I'm a bit behind on my reading, but I'd thought I'd contribute something that struck me as funny. From Amazing Spider-Man #569 a few weeks back..... Ben Urich: What does Osborn think?....That he can wave a magic wand and everyone will forget who he really is? Peter Parker: Right. ' Cause that'd be crazy. Love how the book can poke fun at itself, and not take itself to seriously!
