Detective Comics (1937) # 35

Wow! I had no idea Hugo Strange has been a Batman villain since the 1930ís!  This issue of Detective Comics was his first appearance. Fun read.

Went to the closer LCS today and got the last three issues of Back Issue (99 - Batman Animated Spotlight, 100 - Fanzines through the years and 101 - Rock and Roll in Comics). Not really anything I sit and read all the way through, but a great "library" book to leave on the back of the toilet or in the bathroom magazine rack for those extended stays.
 ;D
Didn't even think about it being Black Friday so I got a 25% off as well, which is cool, but not really what I wanted when I only go here to support the shop occasionally.
  :-\

Anywho, what I have busted through this week so far -

Astonishing X-Men #5 - Worst issue yet, though not bad and certainly better than the other team books.
Silver Sable and the Wild Pack #36 - This artist... ! Love the look of this one-shot and hope to see more.
Thanos #13 - Thanos is in good hands, guys. Donny Cates is gonna rock this title!!
EDIT - Motor Girl #10 - Sadly a very hastily put together issue. You can tell this was originally not going to be the last issue for the series, but sales dictated Moore kill the title before its time. His usually spot on art was sketchy and lacked his normal trademark crisp style and the book was filled with half page splashes (though I got the point why and the last one was funny and appropriate  ;D). Story was compacted and felt so rushed, lacking flow and ... just a let down. Although I am very happy he gave us an ending, I only wish he had the time to do it properly. Still better than just leaving us hanging though.

Want to get through all of the Batman Metal One-Shots, as well as re-read Metal, including Forge and Casting, but keep getting further behind on that.

Also want to start Ninjak's new series, catch up on X-O and read the first 3 of Bloodshots new series as well, not to mention Doomsday Clock and others.

Crossing fingers.

Hey Hey hey, I only got one more in, but its a big'un, so wanted to list it.
 ;D

Astonishing X-Men #5
Silver Sable and the Wild Pack #36
Thanos #13
Motor Girl #10

Doomsday Clock #1 - Sooo, lots and lots of good stuff here. And I mean lots. Gary Frank on top of his artistic game just flat out slaying it in this issue. Man this looked good.
And, without saying too much  ;) I love the characterization of
a certain character in a trench
. Any ideas on who that really is? It almost certainly has to be someone we know, yeah? I know it is on this Watchmen World, but still, I am thinking it ... well ... I have to think we know him, I just need to see if I can figure who it is. Also
need to see if the Nationality of said character is a point of fact or, because of this being the Watchmen Universe, if it is another facsimile in the same vein as all the other characters... Hhmmmm?  ;) (Or "Hrm" I guess  :D ... or hell, even "Hhh" for this guy it seems)
 ;D
:)

Oh yeah - I liked this too.  I have know idea who the identity of said person is but I agree with you that it must be someone we should know.  Can't wait to see how this ties into the regular DC Universe.

What a big issue. Had no idea what to expect. It was paced enough to make me not be angry that 'nothing happened' ((Plenty did I know, but no 'event' happened)) but I want to what is going on, why, and well, another what is the connection here!!
