Title: CBR, what the hell?
Post by: Jimmy T on June 06, 2017, 01:50:06 PM
Seriously, when did this website go to such shit? All these lists of 15 that they put on there the bad grammar the awful editing and punctuation, the lack of thinking in most of their articles. I just don't enjoy that website anymore I miss it when they used to do interviews with creators to talk about things it's gross poor job at just speculating about anything they can think about

It's too bad none of us can afford to quit our jobs and do all that stuff we wanted to do here.

I'd be broke but I would sure love my job!

Seriously, when did this website go to such shit?

About two or three months ago when they made the site change (or has it been longer now?)

I can't even go there anymore. I truly miss my Comic Alliance. Been going to Multiversity just to get their "rundown" each day

Right, Jeff?

I miss 'our' kind of websites from back in the day. The crap ton of ads from CBR, which invariably will come up against my spamware, adblockers, and anti-virus, annoys the hell out of me.

And like I said, CBR's shit articles, the high school level of editing and writing, and lack of directed content just makes it a crap place.

I'm done with Newsarama for a few of the same reasons, but mostly because those damned bastards have no idea how to NOT spoil what came out on Wednesday/the prior night's show in the very next day's article!!!!

Maybe I'll check out that Multiversity. As it is, I look at Bleeding Cool, but nothing really good is shown there either. That's a passing fancy.

Damn...where's me an issue of Wizard from 1994?

Wizard? We know we are in dire straights when we are wishing for the return of a monthly magazine to get our comic news, in this world of instant info
 :D
(I know you were not saying that exactly, more reminiscing of the past, but I was thinking it would be nice to go back to that)

BC is pretty much my first stop in the morning when I go for comic news, and I don't know if that says more about me or the lack of good sites to choose from  ;D, but I have been getting good info from -
HERE (http://www.multiversitycomics.com/category/news/) at MultiversityComics. At least for decent headline news, not so much back channel info.

I know one site I can't go back to.

Comicbook.com

Looks fine at first, but wowzers, that was not to my liking.
Spoilers, old (and I mean old) news ... you name it.

Nope

I've been around Multiversity now more over the last few weeks. Coverage to me just seems a bit...scatttered around.

I guess looking at the social mediascape, why give interviews to webzines (if they exist??) or websites. Your parent company can do all that, you can have your own facebook page, twitter account, etc, to share your thoughts, creative process, etc.

And with CBR allowing any 9th grader to write for them (I say 9th grader, based off of execution, spelling, grammar and word tense used in all their articles-not to mention they don't have a memory for anything in comics past 10 years ago) I'm really bummed about where I can go to read some fun comic news and articles of people writing about their favorite hobby.

Hoping the void will be filled soon.
