Title: MIDNIGHTER
Post by: Perry on June 10, 2015, 05:07:43 PM
As much as I enjoyed this character's first 20 issue run, I think this current series is not for me. Maybe I am getting old, but the flow of this comic was a little too confusing to follow, for me. I don't mind a comic that goes off the linear path and jumps around with time, but this issue ... Heck, to be honest, I am not sure if this wasn't a linear story now that I think about it. Lets just say I was confused and move on.

My stupidity aside, I just didn't get "into" this story at all. Maybe that has something to do with my stupidity  ;D but when you attempt to get through an issue 4 times before you actually do, you can bet that either the character, the art or the writer/story didn't grab ya and as I know I like the character and the art was pretty good, no complaints there, that just leaves the writer/story.

Hard to hang on for even an arc when that is the case.

Think I am done before I truly ever start. I have one more spot in my DC pull now ... wonder what I will add ...

4 outta 10 - Authority Doors!

See, talking at my LCS, the shop owner (well, he wants me to buy comics) says he felt like he was reading Millar's Authority Midnighter again, and really liked the book.

Not sure this guy is ever in the vein of books I want or need, but I hope fans of the character become fans of the book.

Oh it certainly does have that feel to it. Yes, indeed. But it was also just a cluster[redacted] the way it was written. To me at least. And hell, maybe it was just that I was tired as hell and didn't have my brain on correctly, but I did not enjoy it.

Well, the ending was cool, thinking back.
