Yeah, I was shocked when I sold mine as well. Didn't reach $100, but I came close. Made money anyway.  ;D

Not normally, but as you are a Realmer ... Sure.
As you are over seas I can't offer the same "free shipping" deal to you of course (I hope you understand), and I have no idea what shipping costs would be to get the books to you, but if you are willing then so am I.
 ;D
Good luck.

My Ebay auctions for the early part of 2010 -

Here (http://shop.ebay.com/ptsteelers/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340)

On another note, EBAY is starting to piss me off a little. First they take away my option of accepting Money Orders (bastards) and now I can't even offer 'optional insurance'? What the hell?

You have to include insurance in with your shipping charge if you want to have your buyers covered, but that makes your shipping charge look high, so you choose not to include it and then give your buyers no chance at recovery if something happens?

BULLSHIT !!!!!

I forgot you're an elite hacker.  :P

I have a friend I'm buying for his birthday and he is really wanting the Blackest Nights and the GL books specifically.

Is there a final asking price you want for it? I can just make you a final offer right off the bat. Let me know.

I have no idea what it would end up being, man. There are a couple guys selling similar sets (one has no bids on a $39.99 auction and another has 4 bids on his and it is only up to $20.50) but there are no auctions, that I can see, that have ended with this amount (kind) of comics, so I can't get a happy medium (or 'happy median' if you prefer  ;)) for us both to be happy.

If you can hold off a couple days ... ? I want to help and get you a good deal, but I am not trying to cut myself out of money either.
 ;D

Okay, I was a little hasty. I was going to leave EBAY an angry letter when I just happen to notice this huge ... yes HUGE banner talking about their EBAY BUYER PROTECTION. Apparently, EBAY handles all the shipping problems now and covers the buyer in case of any problems. This makes me feel a lot better about not having insurance as an option.

I recant my previous "BULLSHIT" remark in regards to their new tactic with insurance. I do not recant my "BULLSHIT" remark about them no longer allowing me to accept money orders. I know why they are doing it, but I no likey

What? You're going to try to make money off of me? Gyp!!

 ;) ;D

Yeah, I can wait as long as you want to figure out what you can do with the books. It'd be a great gift for my buddy so do what you wanna do with it, crunch numbers, all that jazz and get back to me if you want. I'm in no hurry.

Well after the first one ended with $71 I was going to say if you want it for $60 you can have it, but then the next one I was tracking (with an opening bid of $39.99) did not even sell. If I was you, and you still want them, I would just bid on them as you may get them for even cheaper than that.

I have Radiant Historia for DS for sale on eBay starting at $35 for auction, and $52 Buy It Now (cheaper than any other Buy It Now on eBay for the game).

It's the U.S. version, game only.

I was going to add the ole "Free shipping for Realmers" line, but as I already have shipping listed as free on this auction ...  ;D

How about this ... If you're a Hero Realmer, I will add some free comics to the box instead.  :)

Hmmm I have a situation ...
I have an auction up on Ebay and as I was checking the past purchases of the current highest bidder (I do this to get a feel for how much they may spend ... if they stay in the game  :)), I see he/she won an auction for a Justin Bieber Blu/Ray a few months back ... Should I allow this person to continue the bidding process on my auction or should I cancel the bid ASAP?

Not sure I can condone Bieber'ism

No, just wanted some money towards another purchase. But not now. I just sold a game on another site, so no need to sell these.

Sorry if you wanted those.

No, you can print shipping labels from eBay or PayPal and reuse boxes that you already have.

Truly? I can just cover up the Priority boxes and use them for media mail? Oh sweet! Pfew!! That's what I wanted to happen! I mean, so far I've just been shipping everything Media mail right now, but I really didn't want to be spending a bunch on boxes.

Not sure that is correct. As far as I remember, you can't do that, but I will double check with the wife when she gets up in a couple hours as it may just be the stations here that don't allow that. I know at the station she is currently working that is a "no no" and they will charge you for Priority IF a Postal Priority box is used (if I am following the above query correctly).

EDIT -
Truly? I can just cover up the Priority boxes and use them for media mail?

Now doing it THAT way you may get away with it. But be sure to cover all signs of "Postal Color" or you may run into issues. I think. Again, Jeff may be correct entirely, but I sure remember getting mentally scolded for trying to sneak in the use of Priority as media. I use to turn Priority boxes inside out, tape them up and re-use them, but the last 2 or 3 times I did that, the guy at the counter asked me, in a somewhat chasten manner, if I had done so and by his facial reaction each time I could tell he was not believing me when I lied and said no.
 :D
As the wife works there, I decided to stop that practice to not shine poorly on her
 ;)

But hell, as I assume you don't have that spousal restriction, I say go for it until you can't. Although the moment you "can't" may well be while you're in-line
 :D

I will check the "official" ruling here in another couple hours, however
 :)

Title: Re: This week on eBay!

Eh, I probably wouldn't go that far. The USPS has enough problems without me pulling shenanigans with their boxes.

Although, after the last 6 months, I firmly believe they are still an operating entity due to Christmas cards, Wedding save the dates, wedding invites, (eventual) wedding thank yous, and well, Amazon and ebay at Christmas.

So, I'll just keep my shipping at $4 to help pay for media and boxes, and not put all of that onto the sale itself. Unless people want the priority mail, cuz then the boxes are there!

Damn it. Either way, I forgot to ask when the wife awoke. She should be home in about 40 minutes for lunch, if I remember I will hit her up then.
 >:(

And the post office is struggling for many reasons, but the amount of paper mail (or the amount of mail) is the smallest of the problem.  The number one issue is the Government will not allow them to operate as any other company would. They are NOT part of the government, have not been for over 40 years, but the government still controls every aspect of what they do.

The thing they are struggling the most with is the governments insistence that they must fund, in its entirety, every persons pension/retirement, in full, when they are fist hired. That alone is costing them millions of dollars a year. It is good that the money will be there for the poeple, but no other company has to do such a ridiculous and costly approach to hiring.

They are also not allowed to control their own prices. That important part of business is regulated by ... you guessed it, the very government that no longer has control of them.

The "non-controlling" government is also not allowing them to cut cost as situations arise. There is no longer any reason for the post office to deliver on Saturdays. No financial institutions are open and most everyone on Medicaid or government assistance gets their "card" funded electronically now. They, the higherups at the PO, asked the government to allow them to go "package only" delivery on Saturdays, still allowing their contract to be covered with Amazon (and other delivery programs such as Fed Ex and UPS), but saving them millions in gas alone and the government, again ... the ones NOT in charge of the USPS ... said no.

These are just a few (there are tons more) of the reasons why the post office is sliding and the "paper/letter reduction" is very far down the list.

And ... wow ... didn't mean to rant, but basically, don't feel bad about using what is there to save money. That was my true reason for posting that.
 :D :D

EDIT - Okay, the wife popped in for lunch and said "no". They will not allow you to send Priority as anything other than Priority. However, your station may turn its head if they chose to as that is not unheard of, but they can get into some deep crapola if busted for allowing you to do so.

Again, if you do chose to cgo that route, just make sure there is no coloring visible that would indicate its a Priority box. I use to do that, like I said, before ordering from DCBS ... now I get nice shipping boxes every month ;D, so it can be easily done.

There ya go. Again, just cover the box.  ;) They may question the dimensions (funny how your packages look exactly like our Priority boxes  :D), but they can't do anything other than that and ask you if there is "Anything fragile, liquid, perishable or potentially hazardous inside".  ;)
I would still be flipping them inside out and using them, if it were not for the free boxes I get from DCBS ... and the fact the wife works there of course.

Title: Re: This week on eBay!

Yeah....well, the 8 by 13 boxes are about $2.29 give or take anywhere I look for them, and I'll absorb some of that shipping cost once I start shipping in larger boxes....so oh well.

Title: Re: This week on eBay!
Post by: Perry on January 03, 2014, 08:41:24 AM
Getting the first haul of "packing stuff" is the biggest pain. Once you buy your boxes, tape, padding or peanuts or expanding foam or whatever and start using them, you won't notice it as much. It's just that initial buy.
I am lucky as I get all my stuff free, if not, I would have to add about 65˘ to each shipment to cover the cost. Actually, maybe more now that Ebay has gone the totalitarian route of charging the SELLER FOR SHIPPING CHARGES !!!

Sorry - I misunderstood your question.  I thought you were asking if you had to use those boxes for priority mail which is not the case.  I don't think you can use the actual boxes for anything but Priority.

Well, came close to my $20 minimum for each lot, but still fell short. Even more so when I included the free shipping for both sets if one person won both. It was a risk, but I still think it got me a tad more than I would've without using that ploy.

Sadly, that is just further proof that it was time for me, the re-seller more than the collector, to stop buying Valiant in monthly. Just not a huge demand for them yet. But of course ... in another month or two...

Good stuff there Jimbo.

One day you're gonna have to trust your books and start listing those puppies at a dollar or two to watch how the buyers bid. I have gotten a lot more for books once I started listing everything at a $2 open. People just get competitive as hell once they place that first bid.
 :D

But hey, if that is the amount you need to feel comfortable for letting them go, and I can understand that, it is a good idea to do it your way.  8)

And hey. that BIRTHRIGHT story-line wasn't too bad, for a Superman story  ;) but I am really interested in seeing what those Blackest Night books do now.
 :)

Title: Re: This week on eBay!
Post by: Jimmy T on January 06, 2014, 07:41:58 AM
Yeah, I"m way to early into this to start stuff at $2. I know I get competitive, but man, if some of those lots wouldn't hit $10, I'd just feel pissy. HA!  :D

I realize that functionality of it(the low pricing) and the competitiveness that can creep in ("Oh, I'll only go to $15...well, maybe $20), but this noob is nervous and scared about doing so. Maybe later this week if no one gives even a watch to them.

I was going to set up a bunch of Flash lots today if I get around to it: Reborn, Barry's first 12 under the Brightest day banner, Flashpoint (& minis!) and the first year of New 52 Flash.

Title: Re: This week on eBay!

Yeah, I"m way to early into this to start stuff at $2. I know I get competitive, but man, if some of those lots wouldn't hit $10, I'd just feel pissy. HA!  :D

;D Oh I hear ya, it is a gamble, but I just always take the approach that "I am wanting to get rid of these books, regardless, they are gone, lets see what I can get for them" vs "I hope I can get at least $20 for these comics I no longer want"
 ;)

Even though yes, I ALWAYS hope I can get $20 for each lot of books, the main goal is ridding myself of these comics. If Ebay wasn't in the consideration, I would be giving them away. The money is a bonus, not the goal. That perspective helps.  :)

And trust me, more books sell for more when the attraction of the low starting price is there first. Just click on my rating and scroll down to see how much my books have sold for in the past, and I most always start my auctions at $2.

Yes, when starting them that low there is the occasional $11 or $8 final auction, but that is the rarity. Of course it REALLY helps starting comics at $2 or so when the demand for those comics are high. That does help.
 :D

Let me say this, to the best of my memory, and that is not great, I'll give ya that  ;D, I have never sold a set of comics for my starting price of $2. (Now off to look)
 :D

But again, if you are not looking to rid yourself of the comcs unless you get a certain price, that is also a very valid way of using Ebay. Please don't take my advice as anything other than that, advice. You must find your own way and the way you are more at piece with, young padawan
 ;)

EDIT - I did see where I only pulled $3 and some change for a Wolverine set back in April of 2010.  :D (Ebay use to let you look at those old listings, but not now, after a certain amount of time. I would like to go back and see what went down with that. Was it something I wrote or what? Ha, oh well)

Title: Re: This week on eBay!
Post by: Jimmy T on January 06, 2014, 12:03:21 PM
I have gone back and edited down most of the pricing....but since I'm so new, part of it is the money to replace those comics in trade form. If Secret Origin goes for $10, then I can find that trade on Amazon (or ebay) and just directly replace it. So yeah...I'm looking at it in a little bit (okay, alot) of the money sense.

That,..and I really do enjoy a bunch of those comics! I want my interest returned monetarily! lol

Yeah, not the best thought behind it (and as much as I WON'T be replacing any of that Barry Allen Flash, I hope someone becomes highly interested in it. :D

Title: Re: This week on eBay!

I've found that I rarely get starting bids if I go much higher that $2 on a lot.

Also - if they don't sell the first week, take advantage of the free re-list for another week.  I've had times when I didn't get a single bid one week but on the re-list I wound up getting $40.

Of course,  there have been times no one bid either week but that's the gamble.

All part of the process man.

But honestly, if you are that ... leery ... change those suckers back. If you are not ready to take a chance, that's cool, but maybe you would be better if they didn't sell if you didn't get what you want.
 :)

You can also always start low and add like a "Buy it Now" for $20 or whatever.

Title: Re: This week on eBay!
Post by: Jimmy T on January 07, 2014, 07:20:29 PM
At least, for my benefit, my first floppies I'm selling is Blackest Night-which I got in HC from a friend 2 years ago. So, if it goes with no other bidders except the one for $3...well...I guess, right? That's the only one that has been bid on so far, with no other watchers or what have you. I'll trust in the "system" ~stuff (well, money) will come back around to me, and all will be eventually well. Hell, an old crappy X-men story trade netted me $20, and a Jones Hulk jumped out to $11, so hey! All wins in my book.

Don't feel like you guys steered me wrong or anything; there is no blame on my end should I not be the happiest. This is the beginning stages of just getting rid of a lot of books to pare down to a few trades I want. That's all.

Ha. Wife just showed up with some Priority boxes and I noticed something.

Remember my tale of how I use to turn the Priority boxes inside out and use them? Well it looks like I was not alone. I now see that they Priority boxes have "PRIORITY POSTAGE REQUIRED" printed all over the inside of the boxes now. Wife says it doesn't stop people as they just wrap them in brown paper, but still ...

Heh....oh well, I'll just be buying my boxes from Target or Walmart or what have you for shipping then. That's good though, Perry! "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me!"

Also...I randomly wonder about buying cardboard and folding my own box sizes....hmm....ever hear of that? :D

Yes indeed. I thought I was clever as hell and designed a "box" that was perfect for shipping anywhere from 1 to 8 comics. Got me a stack of those "priority" boxes and cut them a certain way and made the perfect box. Thought I was gonna be rich.

About a week later I got a shipment of an ebay book and it was almost the same damn design.
 >:(

 :D

But yes, you can figure it out. There really is a good way to fold flat cardboard into a great comic shipping case. Just use a hard straight edge to make the folds, give plenty of space for each fold (to make room for the comics) and you will get it.

It's funny....there's this part inside me that really wants to cut loose and make sure I got all the possible materials that I'll need for 6,8 months...a year! But I've sold 5 items so far. I really want to go all-in and do well (in my mind)...but I gotta hold back. Cuz Jeff...I really could go for that!! Ha HA!

That said...I'm really hopeful for how Sunday night will look with all my auctions. Watchers all around, and then I got all my Flash stuff going up next week, and all my Pre and Post New 52 Batman Inc stuff.

Well it didn't take long for those 40 years of AVENGERS and Xmen DVD-Roms to sell. Knew I should have tried a higher starting point than $250 (sold them for $225). Plus, I know I am way to high on those damn figures. Damn it
 >:(

 ;D

Oh well, Just scheduled two more sets of comics to start about 4 PM today. My Winter Soldier 1-12, which, yeah, I'm waaaay late on getting those up. Past it's prime sell point for sure, but just found the damn things  :D and I went ahead and put up a set I didn't yet want to in THOR GOD OF THUNDER 1-12, but I just hate selling one lot of comics. I always like to pair up even when they have nothing in common.
 :-\

But ... congrats on getting those hits, Jimbo. I think you are getting more than you had wanted on one ... right? I think? While the others are not hitting for what you had originally hoped, there is still much time left
 :)

See, Jimmy, I'm not alone in my hate for Superman!
  ;)

Okay, sorry, bad joke ... But then again, it's never not a good time to slam Superpooper  ;) ;D

(But seriously, I'm sure someone will jump on. :)  Better shot for your Superman stuff than my Winter Soldier stuff  :-\)

EDIT - Also, as you can see, the fun part is watching the people get excited about what they are buying yet still try to bid as cheap as they can. Like that bidder M***S going against S***H in your main Blackest Night set and at the same time, facing off against T***T in the other. Ole M***S is not wanting to let either other bidder win, but not yet willing to go for the knock-out bid. Usually what happens is about 3 seconds before the auction ends, someone else will swoop in and snipe the auction from him.

Right? lol :D

It's just as 'fun' on the other side of the aisle watching the hits and bids going on. 10 hours; and I'm rather happy with where stuff is at right now, I almost do expect them to jump up more this day, then I'll be pretty tickled! Time to get all that Flash stuff set up today then!

Ouch, I see you now have a potential buyer with no feedback. We were all there once, but I hate seeing that on my auctions. Just scares me.
 :D

Most times have been smooth, but I have had one or two that ... wow ... just new to all of it and ...
arrrggghhh NO, I HATE NEW BUYERS.

Yep, absolutely. 7 day auctions are virtually a must for any comic auction as you can go two or three days without even a look sometimes. In fact, as Jeff mentioned, the most looks come on Friday nights and Saturday evenings, so I always try to end mine there to get the "most eyes on the prize near the end of its demise"
 :)

If nothing else, and if you are in a rush, try a three day auction but start it on Thursday  :) I just like those 7 days. Get the small bidders out of the way early and they, like fish in the ocean, attract the larger "biters" ... bidders

Well just missed my $20 average for this latest comic lot by one darn dollar. Got $10.50 for those first 12 Winter Soldier comics and $28.50 for the first 12 issues of the current Thor title. A total of $39.00

Juuuust missed the $40.

Not bad considering the WS lot was incomplete and an old run

What do you do when you decide you're going to lose alot on a sale?

I never do. Again, I go with the mind set I am ridding myself of the books, not trying to "get value". Plus, other than that $3 and something Wolvy auction, I've been pretty happy. But maybe I am just not getting what your asking.
 :)

If you are just putting your comics up to get the most money, are you first looking at what the same books have been selling for prior to trying to auction them? Remember we suggested that in the first thread? I mean if a set of books has only been selling for $1 it may not be worth putting them up if your goal is to get $30 for them. Ya know what I mean?

Hope your not "losing" too bad. I guess you could always pull em before a bid comes in

Title: Re: This week on eBay!

I set my stuff for whatever would be the lowest possible that I'd be okay with. That way if I get anymore than that, then great. If it doesn't sell, then no loss.

Selling lots for $2? That sucks.

Sure. I can see that, but again that only happened to me that one time, and even then I had it hit for a crappy $3 and something. But again, did you do the research first? See what the books have been selling for? Either way, I feel for ya, that sucks.

Of course having auctions end on a holiday weekend got all of us this week.  :( Too many bidders lost to doing family/friends stuff. Didn't even think about it when I listed.

But I list to sell. Different than what you want it seems. :-\

Nope I did some initial checking out stuff. I was pleased with my Nu52 Flash, Flash Rebirth got what I felt it would, and a Batman Inc lot was fine. It was the 3 others that netted $6.50 total over volume 4 Flash, Batman Inc pre Nu, and a load of Flashpoint minis. Just...disappointed is all.

Hey now; I'm not looking to make my retirement fortune off these comics, but I'd rather see my time not wasted for $1.50 when the tides are poor, is all. ;)

Title: Re: This week on eBay!
Post by: Jeff on January 19, 2014, 08:32:09 PM
I want to get as much as I can but the books I put up on eBay are there to clean out the collection.  I've sold some lots for $2.99 and for me that's better than zero.  But I definitely get great feedback from some excited person who got that deal and then sees that the comics are bagged, boarded, and in NM condition.  It's one of the things that helps build up that 100% Feedback score which can lead to more bidders.  Then you'll have some that go for way over what you paid for them and so over time you should wind up with an overall nice amount of money.

Either way, I just like knowing that they went to someone who will enjoy them instead of the bottom of the trash can.

Speaking of which - all this talk got me off of my butt as well.  I've had stacks of books surrounding the collection waiting to go up on eBay.  I went to put them up today and discovered that I did not list a single auction in 2013!  I just can't believe that.  August 2012 was the last entry in my Turbo Lister!

So it looks like this will be the year I clean out the closet.  So here are my first items going up for 2014.  Click on the linky below if your interested and, as always, Hero Realmers get free shipping from me.

Jeff's eBay Linky (http://www.ebay.com/sch/jmcrey/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=)

I'm also trying a little experiment.  Since DC and Marvel seem to be heading to the $4.99 an issue route, I decided to see if it might be time to move up my starting bid prices and followed suit.  Let's see if changes anything.

Yeah, didn't mean that to come out like it did. I just meant that I couldn't care less what I get for my auctions as long as they are out of my comic box. I will still piss and moan about low winning bids and I still try to only put up book lots I think (hope) will pull about a $20 average, but as long as I get some money, I am usually pretty good.

Nice. Think I'll just sell all 35 at once.

Good news, everybody!

One guy bought 3 of my auctions last week for $6.50, which really bummed me out.

He backed out of paying. Said he couldn't do it. (had a profile picture; looked like a college kid. He had all great feedback to date, too).

Bah. A 'free shipping' item I bought was shipped incorrectly to me; I had to go to the post office to pay $7.03 on unpaid postage! I started with a letter to seller first; will have to see if ebay will be needed to step in. *grumbles*

Jeez. Yeah hope you get a PayPal "gift" of at least $10 from the seller to make up for that.

Well, they responded right away. Said someone made an error and didn't list it as a media mail shipping (which they shoulda done), and said they'll issue a refund. (It's a Cali comic shop). So, they got back to me right away. I scanned my receipt and send it too, so everything and everyone is at least on the up and up!

OH yeah, do you guys set up the auto thing of if they don't pay your auction within a certain amount of time (without contact) that ebay will cancel the auction? I did that too late, had to wait 13 days to get paid, and when it was just about going to kick the auction back to me, the guy paid!!!

He's not getting very 'favorable' feedback.

No. I pretty much berate the shit out of them if I am not paid within the 3 days I stated. I seldom use automated actions. If anyone is gonna be the dick, I don't want it to be a computer...it is GOING TO BE ME!!!!

Well, I got a bunch of stuff up again...but I'm having a hard time actually putting Geoff John's pre-New GL stuff. I truly love that stuff....not sure I really want to part with it! However, I almost have finished my latest goal of getting ALL of those same issues in hardcover! 2 to go in Pre-New!!!

Wow...5+ days left, and I've got 8 watchers for the New 52 Detective Comics 1-6; I mean, it is all about Joker losing his face; so here's hoping for a great Sunday sale!

Wow.  Those first 7 issues of Thief of Thieves went for $76 plus $5 shipping.  Thats a pretty good return if any of you out there have those.

Weird thing is - I can't seem to get much of anything else to sell.  Is it a bad time of year?

Title: Re: This week on eBay!

I just sold New 52 Detective 1-6 for $28, and Avenging Spider-man 1-19 for $22. Got some some other New 52 1-6s of minor stuff for about 8-9 bucks a piece. If that's low for this time of year, I guess. I dunno. I'm just happy if stuff is moving for me. I don't usually get the huge pay outs or anything.

The reason I bought two of Ellis' Moon Knight issue #1's. Sadly, I was not alone in my idea, so I am not going to get anything close to what I wanted, I fear.

See, last week I sold the 30 issue run that started with Charlie Huston's work. I made that into 2 lots, and I ended up taking home about $38 for them, so I call that a small win.

Well I only got $16 for the Moon Knight but I got $25 for the first four issues of Black Science. Averages out to $20 each. A small win ... very small, but hey, that is the resale life.

May as well start charging $7 or $8 for priority if you're going the first class mail route

EDIT - And in the "No good deed goes unpunished" category ... Just heard back from a guy I sold my WINTER SOLDIER set to a few months back. He had asked if he won would I hold off on shipping until he was back in the states, so I said sure. Well, he just emailed me and said he is trying to leave positive feedback for me, but it seems it is too late now.

Lesson learned.

Time for the culling to begin!  I've put some more up this weekend.  Some are relists that didn't sell before but a lot are new.  I put up the Saga issues at what I feel like is a high price but seemed to be the going rate for those issues.  I pulled them out to take a look and I dare say my copies are as close to NM as one could possibly get.  Let me know if you think I've lost my mind with that price.  I at least added free shipping to sweeten the deal.

Oh the fickleness of ebay. So my Saga issues did not get a single bid.  Not even an inquiry by anyone.  Clearly my initial bid price of $147.50 was too high, right?

I re listed them this week and cut my start price down to $77.50.  I had bids on the second day of the listing and had 5 inquiries about them.  The price is up to $128.50 with two days still to go.  Would not surprise me if they sell for my original asking price.

Would not surprise me if they sell for my original asking price.

Would not surprise me if you get more  :D People just love the "Game" of Ebay.

I have seen it before many times ... a book or set is consistently selling at a certain price, say $100, but I will see other auctions listing the same set, from great sellers, for $95 that will go with no bids. But another guy comes along, starts the bidding at $20 and the auction will end with a high bid of $125
 :D
People like the idea of a "great deal" and it doesn't even matter if they are involved early or not. Ebay is crazy.
 ;D

But obviously it also boils down to the simple fact of who is looking for what and when.  :D

Yup! Couldn't sell my Earth-2 trades for 2 weeks, then all of a sudden, I got 8 watchers and 3 bidders the next. OH ebay; you fickle mistress.

What seems to be no matter what; people will pay good money for New 52 #1 issues. I. just. don't. get. it.

But I get their money. :D

My hope, in the upcoming weeks, is to put up some lots, and well, I'm gonna start them high with a Best offer chance, and see if they go (I base this one seeing previous lot sales and such).

Green Lantern New Guardians (New 52) 1-22, 0
Moon Knight (Warren Ellis) 1-6
Captain America (Rick Remender) 11-25
Green Arrow (Lemire, full run) 17-34, Villain issue, Future's End
Superman Unchained-1-9,variant 9
Justice League (New 52) 1-18 (2 lots methinks)

Also, as the year goes on, I'll be selling off, in lots, Flash, Geoff Johns Superman, more Green Arrow, Sinestro...

..I think the only thing I'm holding onto is Pak's Action Comics (love his Superman!), Aquaman and Deathstroke (and that's more to see if there is something that potentially may spring up in the speculator market.)

Wow. I'm going to sell everything I collect! lol

Green Lantern New Guardians (New 52) 1-22, 0

Captain America (Rick Remender) 11-25
Green Arrow (Lemire, full run) 17-34, Villain issue, Future's End
Superman Unchained-1-9,variant 9
Justice League (New 52) 1-18 (2 lots methinks)

Lemire's Green Arrow full run looks to be selling well right now. A search last night found no full lots, but high prices for early issues. Looks like a good time now!

However, I have that New Guardians lot up. No nibbles at that. I'll do what I said, and put it down after the week at a high price and see what bidding will do for it.

A Captain America lot from 11-25 doesn't look like much bank right now, so I'll keep that for a while before reselling. Maybe along with the #1 and Sam in full costume.

Justice League (New 52) 1-18 (2 lots methinks) GONE

Green Arrow is up. Went dickish and put up auction starting at $59.99. I've seen all these full lots go for that.

No one wanted my Buy it Now New Guardians lot. So, put it down at an auction price of $19.99 and see what happens this week.

Still probably gonna wait on Captain America. My buddy has an issue of Moon Knight, so can't sell that. Same with Unchained.  >:(

Got 3 issues of Superman/Batman (New 52) will check out those prices.

Just curious, why did you split the JLA auction? Was there a certain buy trend happening with the title?

Yeah, those issues, or at least anything below issue 20, were all going very well. And, the larger auctions compiling the first 2 years worth of issues didn't seem to make that much extra for being an incredibly huge lot. So, I figured splitting it meant that I could try and charge larger for the 2, and by having them both up, people may try and go after them both. Which is what my buyer did.  8)

So, I tried to go for the big whammy with Lemire's GA run-first week, a pure $65 buy it now, free shipping. No bites. 16 watchers, no takers. :(

Week 2: put it up for $29.99 with a fee of $6.00 towards shipping. Of the 19 watchers, I've had bidders take it up to $61. 7 hours left on it.

and someone will FINALLY take my New 52 GL: New Guardians off of me! Issues 1-22, $19.99 (+ shipping). That's fine. That series just made me go "I don't wish to hold onto this...nor do I wish to just give it away." I'm fine with a nearly a dollar issue return.

Biting off a lot next week:

Superman Unchained 1-9 + Variant
Forever Evil 1-7
Moon Knight 1-6 (all Ellis issues)
Secret Avengers 16-21 (remember these Ellis issues? Reread this so awesome!)
Avengers:  500-04, Finale
House of M 1,2,8,

Young Avengers 7-12

And THAT is why I have been selling my floppies for years on Ebay. Just can't go back to collecting and having all those boxes again.  ;D But you have them packed nice and out of the way at least, Jeff.

That is one fine load there!!

And you should be able to get some nice fat stacks for those nice stapled stacks  :) (not to mention the Cap Premiere HCs .. at least that is what that top one looks like in that one pile)

No, I am never TRYING to be an ass, but when it comes to text and the lack of inflection, I can sound like one. I am a lot more animated, both physically and vocally, with my jokes in real life but that shit just doesn't come across in this format, much to my chagrin.

I need some advice.  I have the following up for auction on eBay and the auction ends this coming weekend.

11 ISSUES! THE MANHATTAN PROJECTS 1 – 11 BY JONATHAN HICKMAN!

Someone emailed me and asked if I would take $38.50 (cover price) plus $5.00 for shipping.

Should I take it or do you think he is low balling me?

Title: Re: This week on eBay!
Post by: Jimmy T on February 23, 2015, 09:17:27 PM
Ya know, I'm just not sure on that one.

Even looking through the Sold listings on ebay, some auctions really struck gold, some match what he's giving, and some just sold for dirt.

However, it is Hickman....and if it does come around, ala Saga or Walking Dead, you could have some bank there....if you held out anothe 6-10 months?

I know it's an expensive book, but I just don't know if it's picking up steam or is still the same hot factor it was kinda gathering.

I dunno...I'm passing on giving advice for this!!!

Although, checking out mycomicshop.com, those first 4 issues alone already top $38....

Kinda feeling like Jimmy here as I don't want to send you down the wrong path, but you can send a counter offer so try and figure what you really would be happy with. What you would consider fair.

1-12 (one issue more) sold for $58 on Feb 11th, but then issues 1-20 sold for $58 on Feb 15th ... truly, like Jimmy said, a hit and miss title.

If you are just trying to get rid of them, and he is offering $43.50 now (incl shipping) hit him back with a counter of $50 total (incl shipping). If he takes it great, if he counters, consider that. Or if you want to try and hold out to see what you can get, that's also cool. Or ... hit him for $45 so you can say you got more  :D Or ... just take his offer  :D

Like Jimmy, I don't know how to turn you here.  :D

Basically, just do what you feel comfortable with and live with the decision. Never ... NEVER EVER think about it again once it is done. Never look back.
 ;D ;) :)

EDIT - And hey, if that Rachel Rising lot you have up hits for $60, you damn sure should flip that over to the HC when it comes out!! Can't wait for that puppy. I am staring at my Echo HC and it is just waiting for its sister to join her on the shelf.

Someone else had bid on it so I just left it.  Didn't feel right closing it out on someone who put in a good faith bid.  Probably won't get as much but thought it was the right thing to do.

I decided to play speculator this week.

Lots of 'talk' about Secret Origins #10, and about their maybe being a possiblilty of Oracle still there in Babs history...but with some twist. SE doesn't have a huge print run...it could drop huge....so I bought it.

And put it up on ebay the same day. Now, I saw plenty that were presold on Wednesday that went for $10, 15 books, even a few did Buy it Now at $20.

Wanting to be noticed, I put it on at $1.99. It's over $6.50 now, and with my comic ship discount, I've made my money back and a buck or 2. But, I got 22 hours left on it. The other auctions I watched for single copies of it all went for over 10 bucks, so eh, it was fun for a moment to try and cash in on something stupid quickly.  :D

Plenty of copies around here. Did your shop sell out? And be careful with those "Expedited Shipping" things. The wife tells me they just went up in price again at the USPS. Not sure it will effect you, but don't undercut too much until you are sure.

Good news is, every time the price goes up, our paycheck increases. Love those rate hikes

EDIT - and I am happy you are getting $20 so far for your Superman Unchained  :)

Yeah, was gonna go higher, but I didn't really want the smaller HC's as I want the oversized more. But was hoping I would start a trend of bidding for you.

Went ahead and put one hell of a crazy lot up today. This thing makes no sense  :D

Not too bad for eBay this weekend.  Of the 28 auctions all but 7 sold.  Not surprised on a couple of them because I had asked for a premium starting bid.  I cut those in half and re-listed.  Ironically the Uncanny Avengers got a bid the second I re-listed it.  If your curious what my others went for let me know and I'll post the final winning bids.

Yes, but I figured the amount it would take me to buy the issues would be greater than the difference of just selling the ones I have. It was gonna cost another $7 bucks or so, with the discount to get the final two issues (I think that is what it was going to be) and I wasn't sure I could make that up waiting to sell them all with everyone else that was going to be selling them all  ;D I wanted to get in (out) early anyway.

I still don't expect much from this very mixed lot, but who knows.

In the long run it has allowed me to drop two more floppy titles a month, so it is worth that by itself I suppose  ;D

EDIT -
UPDATE on Manhatten Projects:  It finally sold for more than the guy offered me a few days ago.  Glad I didn't take his tempting offer now.   ;D

Yeah, $50 is a nice pull for those issues.

Damn X-O pulls that low? That is what I was talking about ... no-one wants to buy from this great damn company.

Of course I say that and then see your Armor Hunters went for a lot more than I thought they would.  :D Nice!!!

Wow, you guys both ship media mail still? I got caught one damn time, and I'm afraid to go back to that method! Although, I am using a different post office now......

 ;D
I can see how that would scare you, heck I gotta nervous when you first told us  :D But after speaking with the wife, who works there, I feel well enough about it to ship that way. It is such a small chance of local postmasters expecting those that it doesn't worry me.

On reason you may have gotten hit the first time was they were looking for some drugs being shipped from a guy named James "Tann" or they were on the look out for some going to an address close to the one you were shipping to.

Another is the guy in charge was being looked into so he was 'carackin' down' on similar stuff.

And finally maybe you pissed of your local P.O?  :D

Normally, even though Post Masters, local or otherwise, can open ANY and ALL mail for ANY and ALL reasons, they seldom do, as it is just not a productive activity. Getting one or two "mislabeled" ones while having to repack hundreds of ones that were correctly labeled is just not cost effective.

Normally, they are not too worried about paper products as much as the "Are you shipping anything fragile, liquid, perishable or potentially hazardous?"
 ;)

EDIT - another thing that may trigger them to inspect that I forgot was if sending Media, and you are using an envelope, they may tend to question it more. Most brochures or non-ad literature will be sent in bulk, in boxes.

Of course now that I said all that, I'll get popped the next time I ...  :D ;D :D ;D

hahahaha....hope not Perry!

No, mine are all boxes...but I make my boxes homemade. Got a template I like to use, and by now, they are cut very well, and look like the ones I get shipped from Amazon that are books. Maybe I'll give it a try again, the next time auctions go up....

Yep, that will do it.

That is why, and you can look and see, I added the following to my auctions -

"Feedback will be left for you upon receipt of payment, unless you are one of those that never take the time to leave feedback for others, in which case, well … ya know … you get what you give."

 :)

I no longer leave feedback to anyone unless they show they have left it for others within weeks of the auction they won ending. If they do, I leave it as soon as they pay. If they have not left any in months, even after buying something, I leave NADA, GOOSE-EGG, ZERO !!!! I just take that damn money, ship it and move on

I also print/pay for my shipping labels from home using eBay.  Then I just drop the boxes off at the post office and never have to deal with a human.  I finally bought a cheap scale so I could get the weight right for the shipping charge.

You don't wait for your receipt?

I also just weigh them at home and print the label and I know tracking is all part of it when you print, but I always wait to get the printed receipt from the clerk. I take no chances as I know how the USPS and their systems work ... or don't at times.

What do you do then; just check it in with the clerk, even though you've paid postage on ebay? How does that work? Do you do this instead of dropping it off in the shipping bin? ???

I've never had an issue with just dropping it off in the shipping bin.  I usually track it myself with the tracking numbers to make sure it gets moving.

Uh-Oh, this is looking like it may come around on my latest auction ... that I posted a link to a few posts back. I checked, after a nice sized "bidding battle" took my price from $2 to a whopping, "gonna retire now" number of $16  :D, and it appears that the highest current bidder, a certain Moon'######' (to protect his confidentiality  :D) has not left a single bit of feedback for anyone in over a year, even though he has purchased items "during the past month" many times.

This person, if he wins, will not receive any feedback from me, until he turns himself over a new leaf (IE: Leaves me positive feedback first)

I hear ya. Worked on that guy that I just sold to. He was still a @#$$ and only left a positive rating with a "." as the comment, but it was better than nothing. He even went back and gave the same to everyone he had dealt with over the last few transactions.

Got the 8 issues of Pak Eternal Warrior and Milligan 3 issue mini to sell for about $11.00.

Sold the tv writers' fill in on Green Arrow for another $10 bucks too.

No one will take the first 3 issues of Finches WW off from me. Damn. Maybe when they finish someone will want the beginning work. Blargh. :(

Hm...I've got pictures ready for a big Gotham Central lot, as well as my Trinity 1-30 lot. Should think about getting New52 Flash out and ready to go. Also soon up, in about 2 months due to Secret Wars, will be this volume of Incredible Hulk and Spider-man 2099's full run too. I don't see anything there worth keeping in my long box alongside the original 92 run 8).

Well it looks like my plan to boost a sale back fired. Well, Jeff, don't worry about sending them. If you had "pick up" as one of your delivery options we can just do it that way, say I picked them up and you keep them. I may have to still send you the money, if we can't sneak a cash option in there  :D, but I would rather that happen versus you mailing them out to me and losing money.

I've got those, New 52 Blue Beetle, Legion of Superheroes, DC Presents, Aquaman & the Outsiders, Men of War, and OMAC.

So, let me know how ya do! Still can't get that Justice League United Trade to sell.  :-X

Hmm...what to do....

Save Archer's Quest issues for when Arrow Sn 4 returns? Perhaps Ollie learns an old secret?

Save Gotham Central lot for when Gotham Sn 2 returns; in case more cops are put into the show?

Put up Hickman FF lot now, since it has ramifications with Secret Wars? Wait til Secret Wars is closer to being done?

I think Flash is primed to go. :D

Same with Hulk and Guardians 3000 as well. Spider-man 2099, too.

OH, decisions, decisions...

Okay, now that we were holiday free this past weekend  :D I started them back up again. I always like to average at least $20 an auction (to make it seems worth while). Getting that at least on two of them. Gonna average out to be more than $60 for 3, so I guess the average is there.
 :-\

EDIT - Also just hit me that after I ship these, the only current comics I will have in my house that are mine are my current Marvel Star Wars books and my Batman. Well, honestly, I also still have the complete run of Brigade, Bloodstrike and Supreme (sans Moore issues), but only because I haven't decided what to do with them and I have no idea how they got here in the first place.
 :D

I am opposed to throwing away any form of literature, yes even Liefeld kind  ;D, so maybe I will force myself to try and read them to see if they are at least safe to give some of the kids in the neighborhood? Damn sure not giving them to my grand-kids.

I think I would rather be dealing with no feedback than what I'm dealing with now.  I have a girl who has won 12 of my auctions over the past three weeks and still has not paid for any of them.
I'm getting antsy.

Title: Re: This week on eBay!

UGH to both your situations! My last worst case, I decided to pull the dick move of not hearing anything or receiving any money within 5 days, I immediately went to report and get the auction cancelled. I know some stuff also happens on the end of the buyer at this time as well....but it did eventually get me my money. Of course no feedback!

But damn Jeff, that really sucks!

Title: Re: This week on eBay!

I think I would rather be dealing with no feedback than what I'm dealing with now.  I have a girl who has won 12 of my auctions over the past three weeks and still has not paid for any of them.
I'm getting antsy.

I would say it's about time for you to do the "non-paying buying" route. Ebay states that after two days of non-payment, you can go to the "resolution Center" and open up a claim. They will send the buyer a "reminder" and then after four days has past and you still have not recieved your payment, you can get all your money from final value fees and offer "second chance" offers to your closet bidders or you can relist.

I am doing that with my Thor now. I gave the 3 days it states in my auction and have just sent the request in for non-payment.

Also, guys, as something I had in my old Ebay template and totally forgot about until now (and the fact I am not totally sold on the Ebay sellers protection), you should add into your shipping 'rules' -

... Due to the possibility of accidental abuse to your {books} after they have left my hands, Insurance is recommended at an additional cost to you of {$3}. Your books will leave just as described, but I can not be held responsible for damages sustained to your {books} while in transit. ...

Now that is something I use to have in my auctions ... well similar ... I think ... and again, I am not really up to date on anything has as far as seller protection in this matter, but if they don't cover you ass for package damage, I would suggest putting something similar to what I have above in your auction template. Just to cover you.

I only remembered I didn't have it in mine when I added insurance on a package in my last shipment, as the buyer has never left feedback and they had a rating of only 7 at the time. I wanted to make sure I was covered. haha

Title: Re: This week on eBay!
Post by: Jeff on June 07, 2015, 09:00:08 PM
My buyers middle name must be Domino.  As luck would have it, she finally sent the payment before I submitted the problem to the resolution center.

Whew!  Just glad to have that over with.  The thought of going through the relisting of 12 auctions was wearing on me.

Title: Re: This week on eBay!
Post by: Perry on June 10, 2015, 04:57:15 AM
Congrats on that, sir. That would indeed suck to have to relist that. I think I would have to offer second chance offers to all the non-winners and see if I got any bites first.

That is what I am going to do instead of relisting my Thor lot that the guy now says he doesn't want as he "lost his debit card"
 ::)
Just have to wait 1 ... or is it two ... more day(s) to be able to do so, as I started a non-payer claim and you have to wait four days for the buyer to get payment to you. Even though he told me he is not paying for them, I see no way that I can offer a second chance offer without waiting the full term of the claim.
 >:(
They should change that shit. I understand you want to give the buyer a few extra days (even though by Ebay's own standard payment should be received by two days after the auction ends), but if the buyer writes to you and says "no" there should be a shortcut available to contact other bidders for a second chance offer. If I could do it once he wrote me saying he didn't want the books, I would have a better shot at grabbing the next highest bidder and asking him if he wants them at his highest bid price, as it is such a short time he may not have found another auction close to what I was selling. But waiting almost a week ... two days for the buyer to pay and four more to wait and see if he pays when Ebay "officially" tells him to pay  ::) ... that sucks. Heck, in fact it is a full week for me because I give three days to pay (and he didn't tell me he wasn't paying until the third day of course)

Can't you manually close the case?

Yes, but if I do I think I lose the ability to have second chance offers
At least that is what I took from it when I read about it
 ???

EDIT - And I want the second chance offer ability as the next guy was close to his paying price  :) so if I can get that ...  ;)

 ;D
Bet that got ya a little nervous.

That reminds me of the time I was about to crap my pants (Well I guess I could have started this a little better than that  :D)

A long time ago, when I was reletively new to selling on Ebay, I had sold some Ghost Rider comics. I sold a set of the original series and a set of the the Danny Ketch series. Guess what happened.  ;D

What screwed me was I always marked the comics that were going out on the back of the boxes. Well, I did for the comics I had already packed but had no shipping info yet (this was a time before Ebay helped you print all your labels and people paid in seconds after they won).

Well I packed one set of Ghost Riders up, marked it GR, packed a few more titles up (I was selling about 8 titles every 14 days) and marked them accordingly and then packed another Ghost Rider and marked it GHST. That way I knew what was what. Smart yeah?

Well only a little smart as by the time one person that bought one of the GR's set paid, I had forgotten that I marked two Ghost Rider sets. So I grabbed a box that was marked GR and thought "well that stands for Ghost Rider", looked for his address in the email, wrote it down on my USPS label and off it went to the Post Office the next morning (the wife use to take my packages to work with her as she works there. Saved me the trip).

Well the next day, close to noon, the other guy paid and it hit me like a lightening strike! "OH SHIT!! I hope I didn't send the wrong GR to the wrong GR buyer!!"

Needless to say I had to open the box that I still had here and look at what I had and compare it to what this guy bought and sure as hell, I had sent the wrong GR to the wrong buyer. Usually when the wife takes my comics to work in the morning they are out of the building by 9:30 or 10 at the latest, so I knew I was probably S.O.L as this was well after 11. I just knew I was screwed. My heart just sank.

Called the wife and asked her if the morning parcel truck had came yet and she said no, and blood rushed back to my brain for the first time in an hour, so I begged and pleaded with her to find that package and bring it back with her at lunch. She found it and I had never felt so happy about the slow ass Post Office than I did at that moment.
 ;D

I know it was no big deal in the grand scheme of things, but I can't recall a time I was so nervous and then so elated about the same subject in such a short period of time
 ;D

You have a wonderful wife then! You know she was just rolling her eyes, squeezing her temples, and saying "Yes Perry, I'll look for them," all the while mumbling under her breath 'stupid comics' and 'make some nerd cry with wrong box' and 'wtf is a ghost rider?'

Great lady there!!

Just the Finch issues I have. Collector anal-retentiveness won't let me pass on the Azzarello issues...even with owning the trades!!! (yeah, yeah shoot me down. ;)  )

And I put up the most random of shit this week too. New 52 Flash, Sinestro, DC Universe Presents, and Spider-man 2099 and an oooollllldddd lot of Uncanny X-men for fun.

Dangnabbit, I gotta ship to Puerto Rico. So much for reading my listing about continental US anyways. Losing money on shipping then.  >:(

Title: Re: This week on eBay!
Post by: Perry on July 02, 2015, 11:37:28 AM
Why are you shipping it there? I wouldn't. I would tell him to piss off.

Or contact Ebay and ask them about their own international hub they have. I noticed it a few months back. You can click the option to sell overseas, but all you do is send it to them, at this hub or whatever, and they take care of all the rest. I never used it, as I refuse to ship overseas, so I have no idea if it is worth it or not, but you may want to check into it.

Screw that. (As long as you stated "Continental" U.S. only in your auction  :-\)

Nevermind. I jumped the gun. I posted pissily...but I went to double check, since Puerto Rico is a US territory...it's NOT extra shipping. I apologize out loud to the air I cursed before, and I hope I didn't put any black marks on my karmic record for Santa. Whoops.  :D

CRAP!!!  I listed issue #6 on my auction and I don't have it.   >:(

I hate it when I do that.  Someone has already bid on it so I can't change it.  I'm hoping your right about issue #2 bumping up the price.  I'll need it to cover the $6 cost of buying #6 to put in here.

I've been a bit slow as of late selling stuff (mostly because I had to go and get another auction cancelled when the buyer went AFK  >:(

But, here's hoping someone will buy that JLA trade and Deadman stuff eventually. Even some random sports stuff from the closet! Right now I'm doing a little extra push to start moving...stuff. If I get money (or more than my original bid), I'm rather ambivalent to that outcome.

Jeff, any luck with your sales of New 52 Legion stuff? I'm curious if you ever got that stuff to move.

Not sure if I told you guys this but I finally did it. Sold my last run of current comics that I had in my house. Batman 1-41 sold for $235 w/shipping included about a week ago (I also threw in an unopened set of bags and boards). Not what I was hoping for, as issue #1 is over $100 now, but I am still happy all in all. It was hard letting them go, but as they were the last, it just made sense.

Plus, with Marvel hitting me with 8,584 new #1's I needed some extra money  :D :D Man, just like Nu52, I hope I can cut my initial order in half by month three.  :-\ Now I hope I don't do it as easily as I did Nu52  :D ;D, but I am sure I can get close. Hopefully. Because let's face it, this money I got for Batman will only cover about two months of the new Marvel.

Nice work.

I haven't put anything up in a while.

My last bout of shipping landed me a response from one of my buyers. "Next time, add more cardboard to the shipping. Also, don't call your comics NM if they are damaged."

MUTHAFUKKER; who you calling a LIAR?

I was so pissed. He had won the entire Scarlet Spider run. Now, I'm not a professional grader (and screw those people anyways), but I read once, then store. I'm a 25 year comic reader; I handle my books well. This dude had 4 feedbacks, and seemed like a prick on every feedback he had left. I swear one of his feedbacks was 'the books got here'

It got me fuming. I sent back a genial anti-septic response of 'sorry you don't agree on the condition. If they were damaged during shipping, I mentioned in my sales I have no control over that. You can refer to my feedback about the approval of my shipping methods (no complaints). Good day to you.'

If he was fishing for a refund, he can kiss my ass.

It was also during this time I had 2 more auctions bid on and won and then no payer response. So, that also led to me quitting for a month.

BUT-it's time for a monster Valiant "starter" pack auction, methinks (Get rid of floppies of Bloodshot Reborn, The Divine, Ninjak, Manowar, and the mini The Valiant).

Got recent purchases of DC to get rid of too, soon. All the 'Truth' Superman, Superman/Wonder Woman, Batman/Superman issues all bundled up together and gotten rid of.

Funny thing, to go along with Perry? I don't own a single floppy of a Marvel book published in the last 5 years. Made me do a double take when I was reorganizing my recent purchases box to sort and sell. Captain America-Steve and Sam are gone. Waid to Duggan Hulk is gone. PAD's Spider-man 2099 is gone. Guardians 3000 shipped away. Moon Knight by Ellis gone long ago. *Check that! I still have the PAD Future Imperfect and 3 issues of Renew your Vows to ship-once Future is finished. I don't think I feel like finishing Renew. Someone can tell me spoilers of how things go in issues 4 and 5).

I think I'm going to give my wife (7th grade Language arts teacher) ALL my Convergence stuff for her classroom to see if any kids want to jump on DC. 8)

Man, that's a lot. You're gonna hate 'packing day'
 ;D

Surprised, kinda, that you're getting rid of some of those trades (like Birthright and East of West for example). Even though I know you sell trades from time to time, I also thought you kept a nice set for the shelf. Was that just HCs, is that spot reserved for the best of the best or do you keep any?

The only thing I keep is my Morning Glories Deluxe HC's.  Especially since I met Joe Eisna at the last Con and he signed all three and drew headshots in each one.  Turns out he and I both went to Baylor and he lives here in the Dallas area. Really nice guy. Oh by the way, he did those drawings and autographs for free. He said buying those HC's is all the thanks he needs.  Totally blew me away how cool he is.

I have the DC 75 year HCs as well but once they are all released, I get them all, and read them all, then I'll likely sell them as a collection.

Most of them sit on the shelf because it takes me so long to get to them but Morning Glories is the only I plan on keeping.

It was a mess but I sold a lot of them.  Then came the whiners about how long it takes me to ship when my post clearly says ships in 3-5 business days. My favorite was the guy that told me sending them Media Mail was unacceptable even though he paid for Media Mail shipping.  Then there was the guy that opened an eBay case on me because they didn't ARRIVE in 5 days. I just provided eBay the tracking numbers and that case got closed. Almost turned me off completely to selling on eBay.

Fortunately the majority of people were nice and reasonable and I did ok.

F'n crazy. So glad I don't have to deal with even the chance of that shit now. I really enjoyed the money, but man, the minuscule but residing stress of getting negative feedback and having to deal with the "this and that" of it just because some ass didn't eat lunch that day or some crap was what made me make my decision to only post if I thought I was going to at least get $20 out of each sell. And now that I don't buy the floppies anymore and only buy HCs that I will never sell (well that is the intent anyway, but never say never I guess) I am not missing Ebay at all.

Yeah, I'll be glad when I'm done.  Selling and shipping TPB's is a lot easier.  I'll eventually even stop getting those and just do digital.  So much easier all the way around.

And here we are almost one year later and I'm back to eBay to get rid of a LOT of TPB's.
